I understand "choice" but when the waitress proudly proclaims (to all customers within ear shot) that its her choice and she chooses not to get vaccinated, I have to wonder what people are thinking. $60 bucks for mediocre food. Huevos rancheros was a gummy tortilla with 2 eggs in it and a tablespoon of bad green chili, beans were dried to the side of plate. My son ordered a pancake and bacon, charged 5 bucks for 2 small pancakes that he wouldn't even eat because they " tasted like a sponge " and an additional 6 bucks for 3 small wrinkled pieces of bacon on a saucer and 12 bucks for few glasses of orange juice? Hey! We were camping at the KOA Holiday just down the street and drove past Randy's Diner a few times. We have very picky eaters (kids) and they think food is only fast food...Yuck!!! I told them that the best food is usually mom and pop places that are out of the way. Well, We now have two kids who want to only eat at out of the way places that are not big state-to-state franchises. The food was excellent ( I even took photos of what we had... I never do such a thing by the way). Service was excellent and the staff was very kind and appreciated us for coming in during our stay. We ate numerous meals at Randy's and will be back next time we are in GJ. You will not be sorry with the Southside Omelette. Jeff read more

Such a cute little diner in Grand Junction, we were driving through and needed some breakfast and they were very accommodating. Had COVID safety procedures and still offers their full menu, unlike many other restaurants. Such a nice wait staff and the food was lovely, exactly what you would expect from a local diner. This place has a cute small town vibe. It's pretty small, so you might end up waiting a bit for a table if you go when they're busy. We went for breakfast, and the selection is very good. I really wish I could give this place more than 3 stars, as the staff were very friendly, and locally owned places are better than village inn any day, but overall the food and service could use some improvement. I would say the food, in general, is average -- nothing exceptional but not bad either. Pros: the hash browns were cooked perfectly (not soggy but not burnt to a crisp either), and they definitely don't skimp on the meat like a lot of places do -- sausage patties are large. Cons: I ordered eggs over medium, and the yolks were totally liquid. Coffee tasted watered down, but I probably should expect that from a roadside diner. I had to ask for my coffee to be refilled (after waiting several minutes) -- I get that waitstaff get busy, but keeping the coffee flowing seems like a pretty important point of service at any diner. read more

This is the classic neighborhood diner! We just moved into the area and kept driving past each day to run "move in" errands. One day we were just starved and decided to stop in (always saw quite a few cars in the lot...good sign). We were not disappointed! Danielle greeted us and she was a delight. The food was great, the service was top notch and it's a comfortable place to take a break from your busy day. The second time we went we were greeted by Jessica and she was wonderful, too. Looks like the restaurant caters to lots of regulars who like the personal service provided by these two great gals. Walked in, waitress says, "have a seat at any clean table". I ordered coffee, waitress does not offer creamer so I decide to get up and ask for creamer. Brings the food out, does not ask if we need anything else which there was not any salt pepper at the table. She comes back around, I ask for salt and pepper. Love Randy's! I work night shift, and when I get off work, Randy's Southside Diner is my go-to place for breakfast. Excellent breakfasts with delicious, flavorful thick sliced bacon, as well as their smothered biscuits and gravy ~ so yummy! Servers are extremely nice and all of them will say "hi" and ask how everything is going even if they're not your server. Can't think of anything negative about Randy's on North Street.
