Hearing the Irish music set the vibe 4 Shepherd pie is to die for yummy and the pot pie is always a hot dish I wish 4!

Prior to arriving in Grand Junction, I had looked up dinner options and the menu for this place looked really interesting. So we stopped by on a Monday evening for dinner. This is very much an American version of an Irish pub - basically an American bar with all sorts of green everywhere. The hostess was welcoming until she went to seat us at the table right next to the door when there was tons of open seating. So I asked for a different table and she seemed put off by the request. Our server was Brittney and she took our order. I ordered the Highlander Sliders and hubby ordered the Irish Stew and the Malted Vinegar Chips. I checked to be sure the sliders would be well done. When our food arrived, it all looked fairly good. The sliders were burnt, though. Well done doesn't equate to charring the outsides. They were dried out because of that but the sauce they use helped. They sliders came with fries. They were good. Hubby liked his stew but the chips didn't have any vinegar on them and were overly salted. They were served with French onion dip so that was good. Overall this was somewhat of a let down. I was really looking forward to a good dining experience but they missed the mark. read more

I should have gotten a bowl of the Irish stew instead of a cup. It was delicious. My shepards pie last visit was solid. The beer was cold and the service was good. I do need to know why would you put such a mediocre item as your fish sandwich on your menu? It sounded great in writing: whitefish with a nice cheese slice, cole slaw, tomato, chips. What I got was beyond bland. The fish - bland, the coleslaw - bland, the tomato - not really ripe and zero flavor, the cheese - couldn't really tell. The vibe here is good, the service solid but please improve or remove this sandwich. read more

I stopped in here the other night after dinner, for a cocktail. The entrance is slightly confusing - it's through a shared entrance where there's also a store (it was closed at the time). There's a small patio outside, and inside the restaurant there's a very large bar with seating, as well as plenty of tables/seating. It's fairly dark/cozy inside, with of course, Irish music playing. The bartender was very friendly, greeted me when I walked in, and made me a drink based on what I wanted (everything in the menu looked pretty sweet). It was delicious. If you're in the mood for Irish food, this is the place to go. They had a good variety of options. There weren't a lot of low carb options, however. We got the Irish egg rolls, yummy! We also both got the Steak and Ale pot pie. I was expecting a regular pie crust, but instead it was phyllo dough. Very flaky. The stew didn't have much steak in it, but it was flavorful. Delightful atmosphere! We stopped in for dinner on our drive to Kansas from California. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay and the waitress delivered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. We've been here every time we come through GJ and the egg roll is a must order for us. Hot, crunchy, juicy and meaty Irish egg rolls that's perfect pairing to a cold Guinness every time. The service was attentive and top notch with great recommendation. We had the Guinness pot pie and the Shepard's pie this time. Clean restaurant and clean bathrooms. Stopped by here while passing through town- We love an Irish Tavern and this was exactly that! Went around lunch time and had a decent crowd. We sat at bar and got immediate service. The Bartender and one other server were working the floor that day and from my observations they were taking care of business! Ordered the Chippers n Fish as anyone should at an Irish tavern and these were amazing! The cod was flaky and the tartar sauce had a nice dill kick! ! The chippers were sidewinders which is a nice change from the norm. The lady beside me had a side salad and the Islay Fish Sandwich and said it was bomb Beer is cold and they have a nice looking happy hour too. Our server Emily was great. She went out of her way to serve us. Appetizer was Irish egg rolls. They were tasty with perfect shells. I had the fish and chips. I ordered them because the pic on Yelp showed large pieces of fish. However they were more like fish sticks shape. They tasted good but I was disappointed. Harrison did an awesome job serving us and sharing all the great items on the menu. The Goat and Clover dip was delicious. It was a hard choice between the corned beef sandwich and the " French Dip" sandwiches but we decided to go with the corned beef. We split it and glad we did! We couldn't eat another bite. Really great service and they didn't rush us out when catching up with an old friend. The fish and chips were excellent. The Garrison Grilled Chicken sandwich was very good. Worst experience I've had in a really long time. Came in at 6:39 on a Saturday. They let us know right away that they were a little behind but catching up. No big deal. We ordered drinks and our food right away, super easy because the fish n chips looked amazing. We got our drinks pretty quickly but didn't see our waitress again for another hour. She said again they were behind but shouldn't be much longer. We ordered another drink and waited another 30 minutes. During this time another table near us had been seated after us and received their food. And we never received the second drink order. At this point I had to flag another waitress down and asked her to cancel our order and bring our check. She just kept saying she'd get the manager. The manager never came but ironically our waitress showed up with our food moments later. At this point we were too upset and left. Located in the downtown town area. Super cute during Christmas times as the streets are lined with lighted trees. Got seated right away. Walking in to was a classic Irish pub. Dark wood bar and flooring. Lots of Irish decor o the walls. Multiple tv's in the bar area to watch sports. Got the Goat dip. It was really good. Creamy and flavorful. The pita chips with it were like a pillow and tasted so good even alone. The Shepard's Pie was huge. Loved all the veggies in to but wish the carrots would have been smaller. They were chopped in rounds and some were the size of a silver dollar. There was not enough mashed potatoes on the top and the sauce could have been a little thicker. The taste was good. The first bartender we had at the bar was awesome, Eli, he brought our food took care, and ended his shift, next person was a dark long hair young woman, looked like she crawled out of bed, her shirt had grease stains, and never once, came to us and asked how this dinner was, could not get her attention m, she was so busy with people and the bartender that just got off and showing stuff on her, phone, my fish and chips were terrible and for 16.99 3 pieces and tried to get her attention but nope, we would of had a extra drink but was not even asked!! I genuinely do like this place but tonight was a different story. Brittney was our server and she was so rude we left without getting food. From the moment we walked in she had an attitude. We walked in and waited to be seated, she came up to us and we asked politely to be sat on the patio. She said and I quote "okay go ahead" in an insanely rude tone. She threw menus at our table and disappeared for 20 minutes without asking about drinks. I got up to just order at the bar and she walked out and snapped at me "what did you think you had to go inside or something" like I was stupid. When we ordered our beers she looked at the person who wasn't going to be drinking and said "sooo are you good or?" With a once again, a rude tone. It was at this point we decided to just get drinks and leave. She was constantly rude while taking our order and while seating us. She then refused to talk to us the rest of our dining experience. It took 15 minutes to get 2 beers and the entire place was dead. Another 15 minutes to get the check. Grace took over for us and was a very pleasant and nice server. The one member of our party who wasn't drinking tried a sip of beer and she mentioned nicely and politely that he had not shown his id so we cannot share with him and it was no big deal. He had his id but was our dd so hadn't thought to show it. Grace handled this situation nicely and I wish she'd been our server the whole time. Maybe we would've purchased more. I honestly have no idea why Brittney was so insistently rude towards us. It is possible she was this way because we are a group of 21 year olds it is possible that she was having a bad day, non the less we were paying customers and the tavern lost business tonight due to her attitude. She is in customer service and it is her job to be at least cordial with her customers. read more

Cute Irish Pub in downtown GJ. Service was slow but the servers were friendly. Food was meh. Not very authentic if you're used to a British or Irish food experience. I had the steak and ale loie which wasn't hot - just warm - and had three pieces of "steak" no potatoes and only carrots. It wasn't enveloped in a crust but rather a shallow tepid skillet with a ouff pastry atop it - no sealed edges. My husband had the fish and Chips which was very greasy. The fish was three "fingers" which, if you have been to Ireland, isn't authentically represented. The drinks were good - Guinness for him and mixed seasonal for me. But with the place barely busy, took about 10 minutes to arrive at our table. This place is a great concept but fails to deliver in many ways. read more

Many tvs and night 1 the college football championship was on so I got a seat with a view of a couple TVs and settled in with a Call me old fashioned. They use Elijah Craig as the house bourbon and muddle it with cherries, orange and sugar. Was pretty good. I ordered the onion soup and corned beef and cabbage. Onion soup was good. Tasty with a cheese over the top. Pretty standard The corned beef was very good. In addition to cabbage you get potatoes and carrots. Was not a ton of food, just enough to fill a big man. Ended the night with another old fashioned and decided I needed to try more items. Came back 2 days later and had the Guinness stew and the bangers and mashed. And another old fashioned Guinness stew was really good, very tasty and full of large chunks of potato, beef and carrots. Really hot the spot on a cold night. Bangers and mashed were good. Sausage was really good, gravy was good, asked for a second as one was not enough. Mashed potatoes had a lot of stuff in them, not my favorite way but they were spicy and good. While the Harry Potter seasonal theme for Halloween is very cool, the brunch has really gone down-hill. "The Scotsman Skillet" now consists of nothing but eggs, Ore-Ida like bagged potatoes and chopped up sausage. This used to be my go-to breakfast, but the cooks seemed to have stopped putting peppers, onions and cheese on it and everyone who sampled it said it was too dry and salty. "The Full Monty Fry-Up" was equally unremarkable. Our server was excellent, but the food was just meh. read more
