I see some 1 or 2 star reviews and I have to wonder who these people talked to. It could be the night staff that I don't know about since I normally shoot during the day time. When the range sold we were apprehensive what the new owner would be like. He's a great guy. I would like to suggest that anyone that had a "bad" time - give it another shot - call and talk to Yan or Bill or Mark (Mark talks low so he's hard to hear at times but he KNOWS guns). They are very safety conscious there and that's really one of the most important things.

9/14/19 Today I've completed Armed Citizen: Every Day Carry (EDC) with Defensive and Tactical…read moreApplications (DTA). This is my 3rd consecutive yr completing this class. Each time, the shoothouse is rearranged to accommodate realistic, every day scenarios for students to complete with role players. This is a force-on-force class using UTM munitions. Today we completed 9 scenarios, anything from getting out of your car, going into a store, or just getting home from work. Each scenario encompassed shoot/no shoot decisions with multiple roleplayers involved. This class takes you out of the "square range" shooting paper targets. UTMs feel like getting stung by a wasp too, so even with multiple layers of clothing, it stings every time you get shot. If an armed citizen truly wants to test their knowledge, situational awareness, and shooting ability, please consider taking force-on-force training at the Muncie Threat Assessment Center (MTAC) or at any similar facility near you. I've trained with Defensive and Tactical Applications (DTA) at MTAC for 3 years. I train with multiple other training companies too. While all companies do an excellent job, DTA is the only training company in Indiana providing this reality-based force-on-force training multiple times each year. Not…read morehaving ever had formal pistol training before, I feared it might be pretty generic and geared to the lowest common denominator. It's anything but! The course instructor, Jeremiah, is a true subject matter expert who has mastered the skills and techniques he teaches. He has boundless energy and enthusiasm for teaching and does a great job of instructing and coaching. Jeremiah is very dedicated to assuring his students fix what's not working and make continuous improvement. Despite the fact he's very good at pistol handling and shooting, he doesn't leave his students feeling inferior. Much of the training involves safety, drawing the weapon from the holster, dry firing, and then live fire after which Jeremiah analyzes each student's target results for corrective action. I highly recommend training with Jeremiah at Panther Ridge. It's a tremendous value and if students approach the course with the right attitude and practice what they are shown, improvement in pistol handling and shooting is guaranteed.

They…read morehave courses in several category types, so there's a little of something for everyone and any experience level: Combatives (defending yourself using only a tactical flashlight), Force on Force (a combination of classroom and scenario-based learning), and Other (stuff like how to escape restraints, defeating locks, and an improvised weapons lab). Every class I've taken (5 so far, and I hope to do more!) has challenged me beyond my comfort zone---and that's a really good thing. Learning theories and in the classroom is one thing, but I had no idea how I'd react in certain situations until I was placed in them in the scenarios portion of the classes. The owner and the role players are great guys and make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. I see why they call the company Mindset Lab---you really do change your mindset through taking classes with them. Highly recommended, even if you're not a gun owner (I'm not).
