William C. the one to assist me on my purchase had given me an attitude right out the gate and treated me as if I have never purchased a firearm before (especially from Range USA Villa Park). Best part was when I called regarding a status update I was basically told "You'll get a call when it's ready" which is concerning based on my concerns and questions. It seems I have the same problem with Range USA as many leaving reviews. Their horrible customer service and complete lack of concern about customer support does not seem to be contained to one location. I used to be a member at Naperville but left due to some extremely frustrating situations. Villa Park location is no different. Employees standing around and chatting, none available to help or care. Checking in to use a lane is equally as horrible. How does it take that long to assign a lane and then pay for it?! Finally when you do get a lane there seems to be a whole secret rule book that only the employees know about. I fancy myself an observer of safety but when I'm there I am constantly interrupted for doing something wrong that is not listed on the posted rules. DANGEROUS, DEFECTIVE PRODUCT & APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE ​Location: RangeUSA - Villa Park, IL Product: Canik TTI Combat 9mm Pistol Manager: Jeremy (Refused Return) ​I recently purchased a new Canik TTI Combat 9mm pistol from RangeUSA in Villa Park and, critically, immediately took it to their onsite range for the first test fire. I never took the firearm off the premises. ​The experience was horrific. The pistol was dangerously defective and non-functional right out of the box. Within the first few magazines, the gun experienced multiple critical failures, including repeated stovepipes, double feeds, and various other jams. The firearm is clearly unusable and does not function properly. ​The malfunctions were immediate and severe enough that they were witnessed and confirmed by the Range Safety Officer (RSO) on duty, another patron, and my friend. The RSO even suggested that I return the gun immediately and speak with the store manager about the defect. ​I promptly attempted to return the non-functional pistol. Despite the firearm having been proven defective on their own range, under the observation of their own staff, the store manager, Jeremy, absolutely refused to accept the return or offer any solution. ​This is utterly unacceptable. RangeUSA sold a demonstrably defective and unsafe product and then refused to take any responsibility, even when the defect was confirmed before I ever stepped outside the building. This demonstrates an appalling lack of commitment to customer safety and satisfaction. I am left with an expensive, non-working gun, and RangeUSA Villa Park and its manager Jeremy have lost my business permanently. Rangeusa asserts that the purchased firearm is not eligible for return, citing a general "Terms & Conditions" policy and advising me to seek remedy solely through the manufacturer's warranty. ​I hereby formally reject this response and refute the premise that their internal policy overrides my fundamental statutory protections as a consumer under the laws of the State of Illinois. ​I. The Priority of Statutory Warranty over Internal Policy ​RangeUSA's cited "Terms & Conditions" cannot supersede the obligations imposed upon a retailer by the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), specifically the Implied Warranty of Merchantability, which governs the sale of goods in Illinois. * ​Breach of Warranty: A merchantable product must be "fit for the ordinary purposes for which such goods are used." The Canik TTI pistol, upon initial function testing at their facility, immediately and repeatedly exhibited critical cycling failures, including severe double-feeds and stovepipe malfunctions. These systemic defects render the firearm unfit for its ordinary, essential purpose and, moreover, constitute a potentially dangerous item. The sale of a product so fundamentally compromised is a clear and demonstrable breach of the Implied Warranty of Merchantability. * ​Irrelevance of Return Policy: A policy that prohibits returns is legally enforceable only for products that are otherwise merchantable. It cannot be legally invoked to prevent the return or recourse for an item that was, at the point of sale, patently defective and in breach of the warranty implied by law. ​II. Factual Precedent and Denial of Due Diligence Claim ​Their assertion that "we always encourage customers to carefully review their purchases before leaving the building" is factually irrelevant, as I did precisely that. * ​Immediate Discovery: The defect was discovered and verified on your premises--specifically, at your on-site firing range--seconds after the transfer of title. The firearm never left the physical custody and control of the RangeUSA property before the return was requested. * ​Staff Witness: The immediate and chronic failures were witnessed by a Range Safety Officer (RSO) in your employ, who recognized the gravity of the defect and personally advised me to seek a return from the store manager (Jeremy). In an attempt to correct the issue, Jeremy disassembled and oiled the defective gun. Which still malfunctioned at the same rate of failure as before. This constitutes irrefutable, contemporaneous documentation of the defect by your own staff, confirming that the product was non-functional at the time of discovery. ​III. Retailer Liability Precedes Manufacturer Warranty ​While the manufacturer (Canik) provides an express warranty for repair, this does not absolve RangeUSA, the retailer, of its primary liability for selling non-merchantable goods. The UCC places the initial obligation on the seller to deliver goods fit for their ordinary purpose. Relegating the customer solely to the manufacturer for an immediate, critical defect discovered before the product even left the store is an unacceptable attempt to shift the financial and logistical burden of a defective sale. ​IV. Demand for Remediation ​I reiterate my formal demand for the immediate rescission of this transaction, requiring a full and prompt refund. read more

This place has adopted the Mega Sports model of customer service - you know, borderline hostile, annoyed that they have to help customers, condescending - but that's not even the worst part of my experience. Once in the range - the range official, a very slovenly and sloppy man, conjured up in his imagination some phantom safety violation which was basically an excuse for him to step into my stall and start getting handsy with my lady friend while giving an impromptu and unnecessary safety class. I have been handling and operating firearms for 40 years, am a Marine veteran, and have been to countless ranges all over the nation/world and put 100's of 1000's of rounds down range. I have never had any issue whatsoever with a range official, ever. So for this slob to invent some imaginary issue so that he could play the hero and step in and start touching a female is one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen. The range officers do a great job of keeping the area clean and more importantly safe everyone has been incredibly friendly and willing to answer any questions I might have.. Sometimes it gets busy and I may have to wait, but I recognize That the employees are focused on the customer in front of them as they should. Keep up the great work. read more

Been here a few times. Twice for a transfer (same one... took 5 days for them to log it) and twice for a purchase (72 hour wait period isn't their fault). Each time, the Employees stood behind the counter and talked to each other and ignored customers. This place should invest in a "take a number" system or... something. Maybe put a sign for a point where the line starts so there is some order for customers. When an Employee finally did ask if I needed something he said someone would be right with me, he then went and changed out of his work clothes, came back behind the counter and bs'ed with his fellow employees for 10 minutes and then left. Then I waited another 10+ minutes to be seen. 3 employees serving 1 customer? Is that necessary while multiple others stand around. Miserable. Cherry on top was buying a firearm in front of the "buy a firearm, get a free range USA hat" only to not get offered the hat. If only there was a better way to treat customers? Saw similar reviews to the above and laughed and thought. That's crazy, maybe they've fixed it. Guess not. Sad though, great selection of firearms. Would buy more but the place is an absolute nightmare for customer service. Will not be coming here again. Do not recommend. Find somewhere else to buy and do transfers. Would give 0 stars if it were possible. Wrote, re-wrote and edited this entire review multiple times while waiting to be seen. I reported him to corporate and they refunded me but banned me from their stores nationwide because they said my Google review was "too mean." The "safety coach" literally insulted my intelligence for no reason other than he was miserable after sweeping up shells all day. He was watching me every since I walked in the booth the entire time. Personable, knowledagble, professional, and helpful instructors. I've been here several times and mostly everyone I have interacted with has been outstanding! I'd like to give a shout out to Mr Jesse S, I have had a couple lessons with him and he's awesome! He is very knowledagble and pays attention to both strengths and weaknesses and alter the training for you pending your needs/skillset. Big ups to Mr Grant V, I completed my carry conceal renewal class with him. I listened and watch Grant interact with students of all levels and he was patient, engaging, and knowledagable. I can't recall the person's name but this pass Saturday at the Lady Sure Shots there was a handsome, full figured/husky, male instructor who assisted the ladies. He was also friendly and knowledgable. Lastly, I can't remember the manager but he is also helpful and polite. Great place to learn, shoot and purchase weapons/ammo. I give it 5 stars! read more

This is a very clean open lighted place. Clear sign and secure place for practice but when it comes to get service on the counter they really need to step it up. I've been there about 14 times and it's most of the time the same thing, you have to wait because they don't have a dedicated person to answer the phone calls, they don't have a person for people to check out, they all do everything and you could be waiting in line for an hour and they rather take the calls on the phone and your standing right in front of them. It's a better place than other I've been to but be ready to spend some time to get served. Once you get a person they do help you and they do know their equipment. Had to cancel my membership because every single time I walk in this place I have a terrible experience. Incorrect pricing, obnoxious staff, reservations never honored, checkouts taking forever, and just an overall bad experience. This is a very clean and quality indoor gun range. I believe that it benefits from being a member of a national chain and that helps to keep all of it's pricing very competitive. They have a large selection of guns on-site and 24 lanes for you to shoot on. The thing that keeps me from giving it five stars would be the lack of dedicated sales people or cashiers. I have visited two locations and the majority of employees have to fulfill multiple roles and this can lead to extremely long waits to be serviced. I stopped by Range USA, 277 E. North Avenue, Villa Park, IL just to ask if they could possibly assist me. I was pleasantly surprised when Jesse S. advised that he could assist. Jesse S. was very professional, pleasant, and positive. Jesse S. had to totally dismantle the firearm in order for the mag to be released.
