Now I come back June 10 pick it up and put another into layaway and there register charges me $82.00 they have no payment process but my credit card charged me, they was unable to reverse the transaction that day. I waited few days and just went into the store deal with some worker named Robert who has bad attitude saying what you want me do no manager is here. I driven back and forth to this store 5 times and still have not received my refund I will be reaching out to corporate office.

I've been going to this range since the month they opened their doors, and I happily keep going back! This is the epitome of what a "clean range" should be. It has the best HEPA filters in the ranges and it never smells of powder. The employees are all so very nice and helpful, usually with a does of comedic relief. Shooting there is like going to a friend's home to shoot. They make all their customers feel welcomed, rather than some ranges (on Rt 30?) where everyone seems to have an attitude of being better than you and that you're inconveniencing them at their place of work. NOT HERE - YOU ARE ALWAYS MADE TO FEEL WELCOMED AND APPRECIATED AS A CUSTOMER! ALWAYS! While I've been shooting for over 50 years, I recently took a private lesson from Mark Longo to break a bad habit of (like many!) anticipating the shot and shooting low-left. WHAT AN AMAZING INSTRUCTOR! Mark was able to zero in on several bad habits I had developed over the years, and taught me how to correct them as well as practicing drills to continue to fix and internalize them at home. I was always a "decent" shot, but in only one lesson I absolutely improved. I will be joining their club as Mark Longo got me excited to shoot again, because of the progress I immediately noticed. The West Chicago Gun Club was a wonderful and safe place for trap and skeet from 1959 until it…read moreclosed in 2013. It featured two trap ranges and one skeet range. My father and I were members for over 40 years. The club worked in partnership with the part district promoting gun, safety, and introducing residents to the sport. Despite never having an injury or safety issue of any kind in its entire history, an incoming mayor made it his mission to close the club. It was a very sad day for the members.

Had a really bad experience buying a used shotgun. Got the gun home and took it apart to give it a…read morecleaning only to find a lot of rust, dirt, and debris inside. My bad for not insisting that they disassemble the gun to inspect before buying. But after trying to work with them for a solution, I feel shamed for not doing my due diligence. I told them that I did not want to keep the gun. They initially offered me $175 back for the gun (that was $270 paid days earlier) and I was considering taking the loss as a lesson learned. Then they offered 50% off gun smithing to refurbish the gun, but when I again said that I didn't want to keep the gun, they said they didn't like my attitude and would not buy the gun back. That statement was made with quite a bit of attitude. I really didn't have an attitude until then. I told them that they had a poor business model if novice buyers unwittingly buy used guns that need to be refurbished. I was then told to leave and not ever come back. Not a problem. I suggest you all do the same.

I found one eight blocks from me. Problem: they closed their business and told no one. Next, I looked again for a close proximity instructor/class. Found one who was an "attorney" (that's what I was told). Made the date for the class, we agreed that I would take the Metra out to his location and he would pick me. Got on the train in the city and went out to his Metra stop. He was a no-show - got stood up. SOOOO, having finally learning my lesson, I looked on Yelp for a reputable 5-star rating CCL instructor. Top Shot Academy and instructor Chip Eberhart. Taking Chip's class was unbelievably thorough and so complete with regard to every detail, well, I'll say I plan to never loose touch with this remarkable guy and Top Shot Academy ! Had to call the guys at the desk to sweep up the brass. One of the cheaper ranges for a reason. But I want to discuss their sales. As we know, IL has a 15rd magazine limit for pistols. In spite of this, and regardless of your feelings, they completely ignore it and have a ton of handguns with 18+ magazines for sale. Now we all know all the cops that frequent this place off-duty, and GAT feels like they can just skirt the rules. The problem is, if you're caught, they won't be held responsible at all. I pitty the poor new owner that is unaware of this restriction and suffers consequences. Used firearms appraisals? Forget it. Their offers are straight up insulting. Even Cabela's does better. They offered me 2x what GAT did without hesitation. Their ammo shelves are pretty bare too.

He was super friendly and patient with me as well. I really appreciated his relaxed, friendly attitude. Something you don't find too often in this scene. Their prices are a little high, but I think the employees make it worth it. I'll be back to use their range, and post an update if there are any issues. Minus 1 star for the price of their CC qualification target. $3. Ouch. The other range I go to in East Dundee sells them for ¢75.
