Took my mothers Singer Ultralock Serger to Jr. Told him that it was my mothers and she had sewed with lots of love with it for multiple people across the US as well as making wedding dresses (from the 80's). It saw a lot of yardage and was really dirty. He told me what he thought was wrong. He cleaned it, kept my mothers writing & her notes on it and it was done within a few hours. I took my sewing machine here because it stopped working and I didn't know how to fix it, and it the guy was great help! He fixed the sewing machine and showed me why it wasn't working. And he even asked if I had any questions and gave me a little lesson on what some of the buttons do on the sewing machine which was very kind of him. The only downside is that I waited inside and there is no air conditioning so it was very hot inside and there's no place to sit, but I don't mind I could've just waited in the car. read more

I am very happy with my service here! I went to this particular place because of great reviews on vintage machines and I am glad I did; my 1963 Singer featherweight 221k is sewing beautifully! The process was simple and the prices were reasonable. You fill out the little check-in log with your phone number and the serial number of your machine and he calls when it is ready. I showed up Friday evening and my machine I believe was ready Sunday or Monday morning. The mechanic was kind enough to hold onto it until Thursday for me as well! Just an FYI, there's a big gaurd dog, a Thoroughbred German Shepherd from the looks of him. He does the proper gaurd dog thing and he barks once and then chills. I stay near the entrance and he keeps an eye on me but does not come near. He behaves the way you teach a trained guard dog to behave so customers really have nothing to worry about. Maybe people that are allergic to animal dander will be more comfortable closer to the door but it honestly was not dusty or dirty in any capacity. I did not see dog hair anywhere. I will be back with my 2008 Kenmore soon to get the timing fixed and when I do I will post an update to this review as to how they handle modern machines. read more

I took my 3 thread and 6 thread industrial overlock machines for service to Rangel's. I took just the heads and left the tables at home. The owner came out to unload the machines from my car and worked on them immediately. They needed to be cleaned internally. What I didn't realize is that both machines had too much oil in them. The oil was old and dirty. The filtering system had lots of junk plugging it up. He cleaned everything and put the correct amount of clean oil in them. I was very pleased. read more

These guys are the bomb.com! Now, they primarily fix industrial machines, but the guy said he could fix a home machine. I have a Singer 478 that's about 50 years old. It needed a tuneup badly! Not only a tuneup but the gears down too. These people worked a freaking miracle!!! Fixed my machine in two days time! So like many others, I dusted off my machine to make masks and of course my little singer pooped out from too much wear after too much neglect. Both were behaving badly and I need to have them repair and/or a cleaning done on both or one of the other. It was all there was mentioned in the review the person that greeted me was friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. I visited this shop this afternoon with my jammed up Singer Heavy Duty Sewing Machine. I've been sewing fleece balaclavas, hats and neck warmers for my sister's church. The ladies are making things that are being given out in the homeless encampments. Anyway, my machine wouldn't work. I'm retired and disabled so it was a big deal to take the machine to the repair shop. Junior Rangel showed me the problem. I was threading the machine WRONG!!! He showed me how to do it correctly and did several sample runs. The machine works fine! Junior was so kind and helpful. He didn't charge me anything. I have a sewing machine that was in dire need of some tlc. It was super noisy and needed to be serviced. I took it in and the service was impeccable. I was immediately greeted, had my machine looked at and was told when to return to pick it up. Well it's been picked up, it is smooth and quiet once more!
