We haven't had the greatest experience with plumbers so was extra worried when we needed an emergency service one evening. Called Ranger Rooter based on good Yelp reviews on 24 hour plumbers (not the most reviews but closer to us). Josue told us it would take two hours to get someone out to our house and then later txtd back to say he was coming out himself. Josue showed up in a mask and gloves (company policy -- we later found out he was the owner) and listened patiently while we explained the issue. Josue changed into a jumpsuit to explore our crawl space and ensure there were no hidden sources of a leak. We had a ton of follow up questions he patiently answered too. Josue was amazing. I need to replace the house water shutoff valve since the house is over 30-years old. Josue had so much experience that he helped me work with the water district to turn off main water supply so he could get his work done. The work required smouldering, and his experience and patience meant he got it done in ~30mins. He also helped install bidets and replace a faucet. On the faucet, we had got the wrong size so the work couldn't get done. We got the new faucet and Josue was kind enough to come back the next day and take care of it. We have called him a few times now. We were having an overflowing sewage drain in my front yard and we had called some other companies at least on maybe 3 occasions but the problem kept coming back. We had a toilet overflow at 10 in the night. In 15 minutes it was clear that this is a job for a professional. Ranger Rooter was the 2nd 24/7 plumbing service we called. They reassured me on the phone and gave an ETA of an hour. Within an hour Josue came to my door. He was polite and courteous. It was a tough job because my clean out cap wasn't opening easily. Josue didn't get frustrated. He tried various methods one by one, explaining things along the way. He finally broke off the cap after putting in herculean efforts into the task! He had all the equipments needed for the job. Finally around 2:30am he found and cleaned the clog which was deep into the main line. This guy had good reviews, but I had a different experience. He quoted me over the yelp quoting system $145 to clear my drain. When he got here, he said the job was bigger, and would be $240. I'm guessing his original quote was for a simple job I could have done (and tried to do) myself... I agreed to the new rate. But then he said his equipment was broken, and needed to leave for 20 minutes to get it fixed. I waited well over an hour hearing nothing from him, so I had to re-contact him. I'm writing this review after having Ranger Rooter work on my condo on 2 separate occasions. First time was a clogged bath tub that draino wouldn't fix (as it usually does), second time was a kitchen sink that wouldn't drain. Both times Josue was available to get the job done within 24 hours. During the kitchen sink repair, he warned me that my kitchen pipes looked very old and might crack during the snaking, and estimated a low price to repair if it needed it. It ended up cracking, but his cost for putting in a new piple was only $40. Very reasonable. His work is good, he is friendly and offers good customer service.
