MINUS 100;on the star scale. Yuk ---Car owners beware. I am now having to file a $10,000 lawsuit against Rantz for failure to do the work I paid for. They were to do an inspection which would have caught the damages for the Bus. Now after quite an investment and investigation, Rantz will be responsible for a minimum of 25% of the claim. Buyer beware and watch the repairs being made and tell them you want all used parts returned. That way, they can't lie and say they replaced a part when indeed they only cleaned the original and put it back in. Then they charge you for a part and put it back into their inventory. read more

Terrible! We had a real issue with the car and had it towed to this shop because it was the closest. When talking to them they were short and rude. Their prices were way out of line and unreasonable. Their explanation of repairs were confusing. We check other options and they are very high in their prices. They took advantage of us for sure. Do not go to this shop! Highly recommend this auto center. I only needed air in all my tires but I asked Jess if that is something they could do for me and he said absolutely and told me drive up. He put air in all my tires, I tried to give him cash or Venmo him $ but he wouldn't accept it. He was super nice. When I need new tires I will definitely be using them! read more

Great local business, but maybe should've waited for more Yelp responses as it was about $500 more than the other estimates. Don't get me wrong, Jess was awesome and even gave me a break. But every estimate was way less, even using OEM parts. Also was quoted $60 for a middle brake lamp repair which the kid at O'Reily did for free, and took five minutes. My bad for not waiting for more Yep responses! Solid business but probably could save some $ by being resourceful. Would give them 3 and 1/2 stars but I'm too dumb to figure out how to do that. read more

After moving here 14 years ago and being hoodwinked by a few other shops in the area, two of which wouldn't give me a receipt that detailed work done, I found Rantz. They've always given excellent service, and gone the extra mile (even pushing my car from the 7-11 when it refused to start). I just took my car in after an oil change, because they told I would need the motor mounts replaced (picture sent to me of the worn mounts), They explained to me how that alone affects the way a car drives. Well, I got the car back and it's running so much better! The transmission doesn't strain, there's no horrible metal squeaking sound when I get in, it stops beautifully. And, they threw in a new cabin filter to boot! This is the first time I've fully trusted a car mechanic shop. I always recommend Rantz to anyone in Eagle Rock and areas around. read more

I was driving home from a road trip on Wednesday when I stopped in Eagle Rock for a brief break. When I resumed my journey I heard a loud scraping noise. I looked under the car and saw a panel had fallen down. I pulled into a gas station but the mechanic was not available and they pointed me down the road to Rantz Auto Center. When I pulled in, I was directed to the office where I met Anthony. He quoted me a price and asked for my name, address, phone number and a smile. The mechanic immediately put my car on the lift and screwed the undercarriage panel back in place. I was shown a photo of the repair and assured that it will stay in place. I was so moved by their quick response and kindness that my eyes started to tear up. Anthony gave me a reassuring hug and sent me on my way. Posted my review on Google maps but also had to rate here too- Rantz is the bomb! Extremely honest people and quick service as well. I was on the highway with my bf in his car when the engine began shaking, so we pulled into Rantz, never having been there before. It was the closest auto repair shop nearby at 3pm. I felt bad dropping in like that because it was MLK holiday, but they let us do so. We described what was happening to the car and they said it was likely a misfire. It ended up being exactly that and they fixed the car in about 25 mins. They also drove the car on the freeway after the fix to make sure it still didn't have the issue. I had an unexpected battery issue with my car (it died as I was pulling out of a driveway, yikes!) and I had to have the car towed ASAP as I couldn't get it jumpstarted and it was blocking traffic. Jesse at Rantz was awesome about allowing me to have it brought there even though it was near closing time on a Saturday. Being my first hybrid, I was pretty unfamiliar with how the battery system operates, but they were great about diagnosing issue within the next business day, updating me, and providing a quick turnaround on the services needed (just a regular battery replacement and nothing major, thankfully). I don't even know how I can ever thank these guys. If I could rate them an infinite stars review, I would. Hands down the most caring and the best of the best service I received in my life. I recently got into a collision accident; someone hit my car for the very first time when I was parked already at home. The moment I took my car to Rantz after the accident, Mr. Anthony (manager) walked me through the process. I was tripping out because I didn't know what to do but he was chill the entire time and told me not to worry. Sure enough, I was freaking out for nothing. Mr. Anthony was very communicative. His shop is very busy but he made time to provide me updates what's going on with my car. He even called the insurance company for me. From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of fantastic. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction. They even cleaned my car even though I didn't for it. I was overjoyed and yes I cried -- tears of so much happiness how happy I was when I picked up my car. I felt very safe with these guys and I could tell the team cares for their clients and not just about Money (like other auto shops). I am particularly Very impressed with the attention to detail that was given to my car. Brought my car there to find what was draining my battery. They diagnosed it and told me it was a circuit board. They replaced it and I was happy, because it seemed to fix the problem .. took my car back a month later for a different problem. Didn't like the estimate, so I took it to another shop. The other shop said it only needed a hose and clamp replacement. Cost $150. Krantz wanted $1800 to replace that hose and clamp plus the radiator. Yesterday I went to take my car the other shop, my battery was dead. So the original job they supposedly fixed, wasn't fixed either. If you go to Krantz, get a second diagnosis. Five Stars ++ This is an amazing, knowledgeable and trusted team, as I've said before. Always a positive experience. Most recently my Toyota Prius V started making funny scraping sounds/noises when braking, and then continuing with the noises while stopped with my foot on the brake, etc. Off to Rantz I go for a diagnosis and find out it's the accumulator/master cylinder thingy causing this symptom and somewhat dangerous as the brakes could fail at any time. Yikes! I always thought the Master Cylinder was the evil robot in the Felix the Cat cartoons - live and learn (ha ha). The repairs were made and even completed sooner than expected. This is a busy place and I was surprised by that. I'm grateful and appreciative and recommend Rantz to my family and friends. read more

Running lights on. Low tire pressure and airbag lights came on. They explained possible reasons the lights were on and checked for safety.
