On September 10, 2026 I called Highland Auto Repair to get a quote on my 2019 Nissan Rogue's Air Conditioner to Replace the Blower & the Resistor. Kevin quoted me $450.00 and said it would be 2 Hours. I told Kevin great I'm on my way. Well, $450 turned into $$790.40 after being there all day because they took literally my whole dashboard apart! To use your Debit Card you get charged for that too, I was charged $30.40. The next morning when starting up my car a loud squeaky noise was coming from the dashboard, which I've never heard before. I took it right back to them to let them hear it. Kevin and the mechanic that worked on my car told me it COULD be another part that has to be replaced. I also found a bolt under the carpet of my car. What is that too!! That made me angry because there was nothing else that was wrong just that part. They come to me to show the part they think it might be, but that particular part was not for my car. They said they would have to take my whole dashboard apart AGAIN to see what it is, but won't change me for that, but will charge me for whatever needs to be replaced. At that point after a call to them yesterday to speak to Kevin, I had no trust in him, his words or their service. They did not seem too concerned. I let Kevin know that I was having my payment to them stopped. His response was, "Oh we already got paid ". Well, I got my payment back!! After that I just hung up on him. They ruined my car. I took my 2003 VW Jetta in for service because it had been running rough and first gear was starting to stick. I suspected it would need a transmission fluid flush and/or new bushings. Even though I didn't have an appointment, they were able to take my car immediately for inspection and I was very pleased to be squeezed in on a Saturday morning. Kevin was professional and provided an initial quote that sounded reasonable. 30 minutes or so later one of the mechanics came over and the waiting room in a panic and told me something in Spanish and I told him I didn't understand. He told me in English that the radiator could explode on the freeway. I acknowledged that would be dangerous. Kevin came in later and said that there was a leak and that the radiator would have to be replaced on top of the master cylinder and some other major fix for over $2000. I said no to the repairs. I went outside to retrieve my car and saw all of my coolant in a giant puddle on the ground and they were filling the coolant tank with plain water. They said there was a bad leak. I said my car wasn't leaking coolant before and there was no indicator light. I asked if my car was safe to drive and they said yes, that I just had to make sure to have coolant. Since it's only a .3 mile drive to my house, I decided to drive it home. When I drove off the lot my coolant indicator came on immediately. When I got home I saw the spray of coolant on my windshield and flecks around the hood and bumper and the radiator was steaming. They BLEW MY RADIATOR. There may have been a language barrier that prevented the mechanic from communicating this accurately. However, I don't understand how this could happen. The coolant indicator light would have gone off in advance of the radiator blowing and they should have been more than equipped to mitigate that. I wanted to warn others to avoid older vehicles from being ruined or unnecessary costly repairs. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. read more

Be cautious when coming here. This automotive shop is ideal if you purchase your own parts and have the technicians perform the labor only. I came to have my starter replaced, which was recently replaced by the same business 5 months ago. (See photos). In October 2025, they charged me $350 to replace my starter (parts and labor). Yesterday, they wanted to charge me $675 for the exact same service. I asked the cashier for the itemization of the service fee and they argued their labor rate increased to $150/hour. The total amount still did not add up correctly, so I questioned the ethical component behind their calculation. After receiving the diagnostic, I purchased the part, and the technician installed it. Autozone is right next door, so you can purchase the parts you need and the technicians will install them for you. The repair shop won't offer warranty if you purchase your own parts so keep that in mind. read more

I wanted to give a shout out to Highland Auto Repair. This was my first time coming here for an oil change. I usually go to my general mechanic in the valley.. but didn't want to drive far today due to my busy schedule. I saw they had high ratings so I gave it a try. It's right behind the Auto Zone. Which was awesome. All I gotta say is their price was the best $80. I also gave a $20 tip for the excellent customer service they provided me. Alexis the main mechanic who changed the oil is an amazing man. Super knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to have him work on my car. It wasn't really busy when I went around 3pm which was also a plus. They quoted me great prices for other services I inquired about. Noeli who was in charge for the most part with all my questions I had, and the billing, was very smart, helpful, and straight to the point and very caring. I highly recommend this spot for any mechanical needs. I definitely will refer them to everyone I know. Ariel the mechanic is professional and super nice. Knows what he's doing. Great mechanic overall. Kevin who is not a mechanic who works in the office misleads you with pricing, inconsistent with what he says, he gives you a deal if you pay with cash, when in reality there's no deal, very wishing washy and it's all about the buck. No matter the loyalty as a customer, he has no business ethic and doesn't really care if you don't comeback based on how he talks to customer, very condescending. Second time in a week that I bring my car here. First time was to replace the starter and today was to replace front shocks. Both pricey labor. Will not be back! The work was done in a timely manner. The staff was very friendly and responsive. Of course they pointed out a few additional issues. These people are horrible. I went in for an oil change in June 2023. Now it is June 2024 and I am getting an oil change at another shop (I drive low miles, which is why it's a full year later) and come to find that the oil plug was screwed in wrong, severely stripping the threads. They used silicone to cover the plug to keep the oil from leaking and didn't say a word to me about their mistake. Now I need to replace my oil pan (not cheap). read more

My car died on my on my way to the airport and AAA's attempts to help weren't working. I brought it in to Highland Auto Repair and not only did they let me idle in their lot while I called and waited for AAA two more times in one day, they fixed the issue, advocated for me to the AAA guy, warned me that AAA's fix would likely be more temporary than AAA led me to believe, and showed me what was wrong with it in a way that I understood but wasn't patronizing (if you're a woman who's been to a mechanic, you get it). All of this on the busiest day of the week. I went to Highland Auto Repair because it's right down the street from me, but after my experience there I would recommend it to anybody anywhere in the city. After me and my car spending more than 2 hours hogging up their waiting room, their lot, their time, and their bathroom, after having to listen to the AAA hold music blasting on my phone speaker for 20 minutes, and after going above and beyond to deal with both me and AAA, they charged me only $30 for labor. Absolute legends, completely saved my ass, and I will literally never go anywhere else. HUGE bonus that there's an AutoZone basically attached to the same building, so if you need any parts they don't have, you can literally walk 23 steps to the left. This experience was so good that I am now actually considering addressing other issues with my car I've been putting off for like six months. 10/10, no notes, A+, passed with flying colors. read more

This place is a scam. Upon reading the reviews they only have get positive reviews because they hustle you into writing a 5 star review to get the original pricing they first give you. I came to get my radiator switched, originally I had asked another place but they couldn't help me till the weekend they gave me the price of $400. This place charged me $450 but time was of the essence so I agreed. They also said they would change my inner headlight bulbs. When I show up to pick up my car they charged me 530 they never called me to tell me the price was gonna change they just upped it without my approval. They didn't change my headlight bulbs either. The mechanic said the price went up because he had to buy coolant to flush out my radiator. Coolant does not cost an additional 80. The guy then proceeds to knock the price down if I leave a review. At this point I just want to get out of there and get my car back. I write the review. As I'm driving home I hear rattling and pull into my garage which is dark and normally my headlights turn on but I notice my headlights aren't shining. Both my headlights weren't working. I called the shop and they give me some bull about my headlights never working from the beginning. The guy offers to bring my car back and they'll try to fix it but the mechanic NEVER touched the lights. I saw a YouTube video on how to change my radiator, in order to get to the radiator he HAD to remove the bumper and lights it's not possible any other way. The mechanic never bothered to tighten the screws on or connect my lights back and somehow managed to move a cable that connects to the latch to open the hood of my car. So not only did he not connect my headlights back on he messed up my latch to even access how to fix it, I had to take my car to a BETTER mechanic who basically told me they hustled me and that his work was beyond unprofessional and lazy. Never again am I going back. &now I get to leave a REAL review. read more
