This was unfortunately one of the worst car washes I have been too, and not inexpensive either. Paid for the vacuum which had almost zero suction, I gave up after 5 minutes of trying. Paid for the silver package and still had dirt and soap on the car after. Included was Supposed to be a towel dry included however no one came out after waiting for another 5 minutes. read more

Best car wash facility in the area! I've tried others. Previous car wash a few weeks ago at a different area car wash resulted with the rear of my vehicle being left still dirty. Person "hand dryed" my vehicle. Did he not see that it wasn't clean, and just ignore it? At Rapid Car Wash, there were 4 people attending to my vehicle, just for a wash and dry! Great job! Will never go anywhere else, and I don't live close, (in New London), but worth the drive! Reasonable price as well. read more

Very disappointed. Went here because of the 5star reviews after a cross country trip to move my daughter. Wanted to get the works to have the inside and outside done only to be told there was not enough help to do the inside. (I was the only customer and saw at least 4 employees) paid $18 for the outside with bug removal, tire shine and wax. Bugs not completely removed and the picture of the tire shine speaks for itself. read more

I drive over 120 miles round-trip each day to and from work. Because of the snowy, icy, rainy weather we've been having, my car was coated with grime. I read reviews on Yelp for Rapid Car Wash and decided to give them a try. The line of cars ahead of me was an indicator of their quality work; I was very pleased with the outcome. Not only was the customer service wonderful, the price for The Works ($22) was reasonable and even included a car cleaning kit, air freshener and complementary vacuuming. I was expecting a full service wash with the $23 platinum wash. Very messy job. They did not do a thorough cleaning at all. I was scrubbing it myself after their wash because they missed so many spots and dead bugs. Overpriced and I left disappointed. read more

I've been going to Submarine Car Wash for about 5+ years when they were the best in town. In recent years they've been a lot sloppier with their work, and so I've been looking elsewhere for a full service experience. Went to RAPID Car Wash on a whim and they were great from start to finish. Great staff - very friendly and attentive. The manager (older woman) was very respectful to customers and her staff. They now offer a $35 special that includes the works + interior cleaning. Took about 40min and the job was GREAT! The manager was very sweet and offered me their wifi password while I waited. The job they did was better than what I've seen from submarine these days! They're clearly trying very hard at Rapid to do a good job and please their customers, and they're doing just that. Their basic car wash is great! It was poor planning on our part that we scheduled for a time when it rained (FYI: appointment not necessary but good practice). I was concerned and the staff proved me wrong by cleaning the car with the same, consistent quality! Once the car dried up, the car is shiny on the outside and clean on the inside. After a week in ski country with snow, ice, mud and salt the Outback was an absolute filthy mess. It's a beautiful Sunday for a breakfast and a car wash. So while on the Shoreline I checked out Yelp, took the positive reviews and the drive to RAPID Car Wash in New London. Upon our arrival there had to be 10+ vehicles ahead of us, but the line did move quickly. The owner came over and she greeted us, which I have never experienced with other car wash businesses. I mentioned to her that we needed our floor liners washed in addition to The Works package. So for a few bucks more they were adequately cleaned. The folks doing the prewash got the tires, rims and lower extremities scrubbed. The automated wash was a blast to ride through, and the men towel dried it making it shine like a new vehicle! The vacuums were self service and had plenty of suction to take care of the inners. The crew at Rapid Car Wash did a fine job on the vehicle. I plan on coming back to RAPID when in the area again with a dirty ride. Highly recommended. read more

I brought my car this morning for the self wash only one of the bays were operational and there was a customer already washing a car with another car behind him . I figured I would just vaccume my car instead so I cleaned out the inside of my car to get it ready to vaccume and to no avail the vaccume didn't even work . So I guess if you want to drop a $20.00 bill this place is ok but I think the self wash bays and vaccumes are there for decoration . Thank god I work in Groton and part time in Plainfield because the self carwashes in those towns work including the vaccumes read more

Did a fine job. Was a bit confusing as you first pay the attendant (I selected $18 wash), then you drive yourself around onto conveyor and go thru the wash. Then you pull up to a tray that has towels, wasn't sure if I was to dry by myself or not. A young worker came out and spent under 2 mins wiping down car. Tipped him and was on my way. I much prefer my similar local car washes as this was much less thorough of a job for similar price (for $20 mine cleans interior and also spends 10 mins drying with much better equipment). read more

Wonderfully kind people and a great deal for the amount of work that's done. I used to live in Alaska and for $22.00 you'd get the barebones for a car wash as opposed to the full service they give here. The automated car wash itself has brushes and in the beginning there are people giving your car a scrub by hand. Altogether there's hand washing, automated washing, and a towel dry by one of the lovely people there. Overall a very good experience! I'm happy to have found this place. read more

Wow! This was my first time at this car wash, and they totally knocked my socks off! The owner, Linda L., and her team are amazing. The service was outstanding, and my vehicle is super clean! I drive a minivan (because I'm cool like that! LOL), and the rear/back gate doesn't always get fully clean at other car washes--that was not the case here. My back gate is sparkling (along with the rest of the car)! It's a family-owned business, and they clearly want the customer to be happy. And I am! I'll be back next time I'm in the area. read more

On vacation in the area this weekend. Stopped by to get my car washed. Was pleasantly surprised as the young crew working there took the time to get my car looking as shiny as it has in a long time. Young attendants also took the time to clean my rims which I really appreciated and to towel dry it to perfection. Would highly recommend this place and kudos to the staff. Way to go ! My favorite car wash, the place is huge! The workers are very consistent with their cleaning job and are accommodating. The pricing is reasonable for the amount of work that is done on your car in a short amount of time. Also there is a do it yourself vacuums as well as sprayers. read more

I was in town for a sporting event. When I parked my car in the hotel parking lot late at night I didn't realize it was by a berry bush. The next day my car wash covered in bird poop. The worse I ever seen!!!! When I pulled out of the lot dried seeds were rolling off my roof. It was so covered in poop it would be difficult for me to see out the windows during my 2 hour drive home. I tried to wet the windows and scrape the poop off with an ice scraper. It was GROSS! Lucky I found this car wash. The crew was Fantastic!! My daughter counted 7 different guys spraying and scrubbing my car before it went through the wash. They worked on it for a long while before they thought it acceptable to go through. Their hard work paid off because the car was spotless afterwards. Best $10 spent (I didn't have any coupons) I would highly recommend this car wash. I echo Nari's comments. These guys do an excellent job of pre-washing before the automated wash and of drying after the wash. They also have a continuously running vacuum area, so you can take as long as you like vacuuming your car (the sign says there is a small charge ($2.50?) for vacuuming, but when I vacuum and then get a wash, I've never been charged. read more

I used the 50% off your first wash with the yelp check in, came out to $8 and included unlimited vaccum use. That right there makes this place worth it. The wash was good, my only complaint is that the wheel wash didnt clean my rims very well. Great place for a wash though. read more

The nicest people here. usually at the car wash, you get these surly kid or older men who are nasty to everyone, but the folks here are just happy to see you. The car wash itself? Terrific! I didn't think an automatic could do this kind of job and you even get a wipe down at the end. For once, happy to give a tip. read more
