My uncle and brother had done service before from rapid garage for a great quality and reasonable price. He was able to guide me over the phone how to reset the garage door to factory settings and how to manually reset remaining garage remote and car remote so the lost garage opener will not work anymore. Just called at 11:25pm expecting to leave a message. John answered and is coming out first thing in the morning. 5 star service so far and based on other reviews I feel I'm in good hands. I just got home and my garage door completely failed in down position and is partially off a track as well. I'll add to this tomorrow after John gives me the verdict and hopefully solves my issue. Well issue solved. John came out and replaced door and opener. I had to be elsewhere all day but upon my arrival home, I found my new door fully installed as promised. What impressed me most was that my whole garage floor had been thoroughly swept and was left way cleaner than I left it. All components are of much higher quality than what I was replaced. Fast, efficient service. I called for an appointment on a Monday, had the appointment for that Wednesday. When John arrived, he looked @ the problem w/ the garage door electronic eyes & diagnosed the trouble immediately. He corrected the problem, then performed some much needed maintenance on the door & opener. He had to replace one part which (happily!) blew up while he was working on the opener. John was in & out in less than 30 minutes, after assuring me that the door & opener should be good for a few more years! He did NOT try to sell me anything, except the new part that I could see (& smell!) needed to be replaced! Extremely reckless and dangerous driving from their work vans which they don't seem to care about. Almost caused multiple accidents.

John was here yesterday and he did a great job. Not only did he repair what was broken (causing the door to stick in the open position), he checked for other potential issues, explained the options, and left me with a door that works better and more quietly than it did before it broke. All this at a very fair price. The whole experience, from the initial call to the final product, was just what you'd want. The phone was answered, he was (just about) on time, he had what he needed to do the repair, and he clearly knew his stuff. John likes to explain more than I really feel the need to know but for most people that would be a plus. He's a nice guy and good at his job. Add that to a fair price and I say five stars! read more

John replaced our broken spring six years ago so we called him when it needed to be replaced. He worked us in the very next day, was efficient, affordable and such a nice guy. The next day we had issues with the top panel bowing due to the spring tension. He came right out the next day, bolted a metal bar across the top to reinforce and viola, problem fixed. No charge!! How often does that happen? We'll call John when the whole shebang inevitably needs to be replaced. read more

John called within an hour of me sending in an online inquiry. I missed his call, so he immediately called the backup number I provided, which happened to be my wife's. This was aound 4:15pm. When I called my wife, she said that John would be over by 6. He arrived when he said he would, rebuilt the garage door opener, and was out by 7. We called Rapid Overhead Garage Door/McHenry location for someone to come out and give us a quote on a new garage door and new garage door opener. The first appointment was scheduled on Friday, April 28, 2017 between 2:00-3:00 p.m. John from Rapid Overhead Garage Door never showed up or called us. I called him around 4:00 and he claimed his truck broke down. He tried to set up another appointment for Saturday or another day but we were not going to be available. He said he would give us a really good price. During the week of May 1st, I decided to call him again and set up another appointment and give him a chance to redeem himself. He promised to be at our house on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. It is now 3:50 p.m. and he hasn't showed up or called again. Unbelievable! If a business can't show up to give you a quote on a new garage door and opener, how can they be trusted to be there if you ever need service on the door they installed. No thank you. There are many other garage door companies out there that would appreciate and value our business. read more
