Accurate Garage or NonStop Garage Door (is how i was invoiced) did a good job replacing my broken spring. Here is were I am disappointed in how the process worked. I found Accurate Garage on yelp and Mike P (the owner) quoted anywhere from $79-$129 per spring (depending on the size). I wrote back asking if this price included labor or just the price of the spring. He wrote back (this is the email response: Yes the labor is included in the estimates, NO hidden fees. We provide free estimates on site.) So, I was thinking this was a very simple process. The service tech showed up on time to my house and assessed the broken spring. Here is were everything turned sour for me. The technician broke the estimate out like this: $150 for labor and $80 per spring, so the initial estimate came to $310. I had to show the technician the email exchange I had from Mike P, so he then brought the labor down to $100 and each spring to $80 and that's the best he can do. Again, I don't understand why labor had to be broken out when Mike mentioned it's all included in the initial quote. Long story short is I had to get my garage repaired. The technician did a good job and installed both springs. I received other quotes and the price I paid is on the higher end for the repair. What annoys me the most is how I get one guy saying one thing and the other guy saying another. Just disappointed in the overall way this process unfolded. I did try emailing Mike to understand whey there was a disconnect between him and his technician, but the only response I got back was $260 was the correct price. read more

Zero stars. See Garage Door Corporation. Call Brad instead! Brad fixed my door and button in an hour. The person who came told me the door could not be repaired, gave me a verbal quote of $1400-$1800 and tried to charge me $45 until I showed him my email communication with the Yelp account holder. I also have a broken door button which connects my door to an app which he said my model door opener would not work with. It had been working for over a year and a half. He left and didn't even reattach my door to the opener. He tried to hard close me repeatedly, which was also super annoying. read more

We heard a loud crash in our garage at 7:00pm last night and called Neil's Garage. After listening to what happened, they offered some ideas about what it may be. They said they would come in the morning, and gave us a 2-hour time range. They called 30 minutes in advance to let us know they were on their way, and arrived right on time. Tom & Paul showed up and were a huge help! They offered a free estimate for approval before beginning their service. Tom was training Paul (and also us) as he went through the service - removing the old broken spring and replacing with a new one. I cannot tell you enough that I highly recommend using this company to replace or repair your garage door. My neighbors ran into my garage door on a Saturday morning with both of my vehicles parked in the garage. These guys responded immediately and had a tech named Paul come out to assess the damage. It turned we needed a new garage door which could be installed as early as Monday. Paul, offered to help us (Arno additional cost) lift the garage door so we could get our cars out as well as put the door back down in place to help secure our garage. I sent a request on yelp and they were very responsive and setup an appointment for one of my rental buildings for Saturday at 10. I don't live there so I drove there to meet them at 10. They called me at 9:59 saying they won't be there till 12. I had other plans and rescheduled them to Sunday at 10. Same exact thing happened and they called at 9:59 saying they won't be there till 11. I am done with companies that do not respect my time and do what they commit to doing. I reached out to another company. I am hoping they will be more dependable than this one. Update based on the comment below on "chicago traffic". It is not true. I specifically said that I needed a specific time and was told that would happen. The traffic excuse is just that an excuse. It was never mentioned to me and the calls I got which were literally 1 min before both appointments with 1 or 2 hour delay. They would have known that if it truly was a traffic issue. I am fed up of businesses making excuses and not taking accountability for their screw ups. read more

When I thought a spring on my door snapped, I got quotes for replacement from various contractors including Neil's garage. Their quote was competitive and response quick, but since the reviews for Neil's were scanty, I had a different provider come out first. Well, they came out and couldn't fix the problem because I have an older garage spring system and they didn't carry the parts needed to fix the issue. I contacted Neil's Garage. Allan, a technician there, came the same day, had the parts, and replaced the broken cable (not the spring) within 20 minutes. Here's the thing. Since the parts and problem was different than what I initially thought and got quotes on, I wasn't ready for the new price that Allan quoted. He saw my concern, reached out to Neil and was swiftly given the go to make the customer happy.
