Initially I called to ask what I should book for my daughter who needs a bun for a wedding. The woman on the phone was polite and informative. She informed me that she needed a card to hold the appointment and I told her I was just down the road so I would come in and book. When I arrived, no one greeted me. Said hello. Nothing. They just looked at me. I said, im here to book a blow out for my daughter. Immediately a man who was working on someone else began yelling my way that I would need to book extra dry time on top of my appointment and that it was gonna cost some amount I dont recall. He was not polite, he didnt greet me. He was yelling. And he made no inquiries about my daughter or her hair. Little did he know my daughter does not look like me, is not the same race as me, nor does she have my same hair type. But he didnt stop to ask what type of hair she had. He made a host of assumptions and rudely and aggressively communicated them. He also assumed that the extra charge would be some kind of problem for me. I asked him to explain again because I couldn't figure out what point he was trying to make to which he said that he "cant have his girls going over into the next booking slot and he didnt want me to be surprised when they charged me extra". Again very aggressively, not polite, frankly it seemed like he didnt want me to book. I was a little taken aback so I turned to one of the ladies and asked her to just tell me what I need to do. I then booked what I had called for. And left but Immediately canceled when I got home because I just didnt like the vibe and attitude from that man. It left me with a bad taste in my mouth and I will NEVER go back.

Alena, who did our hair, was simply phenomenal. She carefully walked through the inspo photos we provided and made thoughtful suggestions based on our face shapes and event needs. I told her I wanted volume at the crown, but still needed a style that would hold all night long--and wow, did she deliver. My hair stayed perfectly in place for 12+ hours, with lightweight hairspray that didn't feel stiff and a secure yet gentle hold using bobby pins. Alena's approach was kind, open, and collaborative, and her execution was perfection. I truly felt beautiful and comfortable the entire night. Mercedes, who did our makeup, was equally amazing. There was always a Dry Bar nearby home or my office. It was predictable and dependable for special occasions and weekly blow outs as I'm terrible at doing my hair. I asked around everywhere online, FB Mom's groups. I guess it's not common here like it is in LA. Anyways, had a quick chat on Yelp with the salon and booked an appointment for a blow out and makeup for my outdoor maternity photo shoot. Michele did both my hair and makeup for me. She was excellent. She needed little direction from me at all. She knew exactly what I wanted and executed perfectly. She's great! I was impressed. I will definitely return. As a newbie to the area, I didn't know but if you come here on a Saturday be prepared to park far away at City Hall and walk over. Not a big deal unless you're 8 months pregnant and hot!
