I had the most beautiful Up-Tini done by the stylist Serena at the Rancho Cucamonga Dry Bar in Victoria Gardens. The store was clean and organized and staff was great and checked on me often. Water was offered as soon as the Serena approached me. First time having a Up-Tini or visiting a Dry Bar ,but was recommended to go to this location by co-workers. I was hopeful about experiencing Dry Bar as a Black woman but my experience yesterday was far from ideal. Initially I called to ask what I should book for my daughter who needs a bun for a wedding. The woman on the phone was polite and informative. She informed me that she needed a card to hold the appointment and I told her I was just down the road so I would come in and book. When I arrived, no one greeted me. Said hello. Nothing. They just looked at me. I said, im here to book a blow out for my daughter. Immediately a man who was working on someone else began yelling my way that I would need to book extra dry time on top of my appointment and that it was gonna cost some amount I dont recall. He was not polite, he didnt greet me. He was yelling. And he made no inquiries about my daughter or her hair. Little did he know my daughter does not look like me, is not the same race as me, nor does she have my same hair type. But he didnt stop to ask what type of hair she had. He made a host of assumptions and rudely and aggressively communicated them. He also assumed that the extra charge would be some kind of problem for me. I asked him to explain again because I couldn't figure out what point he was trying to make to which he said that he "cant have his girls going over into the next booking slot and he didnt want me to be surprised when they charged me extra". Again very aggressively, not polite, frankly it seemed like he didnt want me to book. I was a little taken aback so I turned to one of the ladies and asked her to just tell me what I need to do. I then booked what I had called for. And left but Immediately canceled when I got home because I just didnt like the vibe and attitude from that man. Gave this Drybar another shot out of desperation and am leaving crestfallen once again. I asked for a smooth blowout without curls and some volume on top, and walked away with tight curls. The stylist never used any tools to create lift in sections, and seemed very unsure when picking up her brushes and blow dryer; it was as though she was just waking up or not confident in what she was doing. I'm not sure why this Drybar cannot employ decent stylists with, at the very least, listening comprehension. I tipped well In spite of how deeply disappointed I am in not only how I look, but in how I feel. I will be driving far out of my way for future Drybar visits in Irvine or Pasadena where the baseline caliber of stylists seems consistent. Had a really bad experience here with service. I was originally quoted $59 for a blow out plus $10 for the added extensions i brought. Then at check out, the Spanish woman helping me said it would be $20 extra for the extensions. I told her my stylist Sophia already told me it was $10 extra, which i agreed to and got done. She said no she was wrong and it's $20 then proceeded to try to sell me on becoming a member. I was planning on signing up but was so taken back by that ladies energy and attitude towards me when it was clearly something wrong internally they did. They told me the price. And should have stuck to what they quoted me. I told her after increasing the extension price that im not interested in signing up. And she said ok then you won't get member pricing and increased my bill to $99 for the blowout instead of the $59 I was quoted!!!! I didn't want to let her ruin my day and event so I just paid. But that was so unprofessional and unwelcoming as a new client. I hope the owners see this and contact me for further info on my experience. I felt scammed and disrespected. Im a business owner, I come from the service industry and I know they should and could have honored the pricing they initially told me. This drybar location is not efficient and timely. Even when I have an appointment booked, I am still waiting at least 25 minutes past my appointment time. On top of that, I booked a blowout for a wedding I had to attend on a Thursday, and the receptionist booked me for the wrong date even when I specified the date multiple times. She said they have a 10 min grace period, fine I'll b there. I was there at 7:25 exactly. I walk in, she saw me, everyone is busy behind 3 chairs and she then addresses me 3 minutes later. "Um if you had been here before 7:25 we could wash but we can do a dry style now". No you said 10 min late is fine. I point to a style in a book. She said no we can't do it, no hot tools because it would take too long. She's acting like she has to close down a bank vault at 8pm. I explain I'm always on time and no one is ever ready, I always leave $20 tips, I walk in and everyone is busy blowing out hair and not ready for me anyway. If this is your middle management she needs coaching and classes on guest relations, stat. This was so off putting it left me with an ugly feeling of being unwelcome the whole time. I went to get my hair done a few weeks ago and the manager was so rude. He was pretty much accusing me of needing extra time for a service I didn't even request. Then, when I asked to speak with the manager and owner, he said he was both -lied and said he was the owner. I canceled my appointment and left. I did end up getting the owner's email and sent a detailed account of what happened. No one ever contacted me. If you want a good salon experience, do not go to this establishment. I booked an appointment online. Arrived at my appointment time 10:30 and was told I wasn't on the schedule. The receptionist said she could fit me in at 11:30 so I said I would come back. Back story I have a broken right hand so can't wash and dry my own hair at this time so I booked an apt at the drybar. Came back for my appointment and the receptionist took me back to the shampoo bowls and proceeded to wash my hair. Not sure what her experience is but I barely felt her washing my hair and it did not even feel very wet. One shampoo, and rinse and I was done. No double shampoo?? The first one barely sudsed up. I guess a second shampoo would be an add on. I am a licensed cosmetologist so I know you shampoo twice. Now came my turn for blow dry. This was done by the stylist I guess. She was more concerned with being able to leave early as she said she had things to do. Dried my hair and threw in a few curls with a curling iron and I was done beginning to end 35-40min. Texture spray was heavy and made my hair oily looking. Not worth the $59 dollar cost plus $15 dollar tip. I can not recommend this Drybar. read more

upon arrival i felt unwelcomed , I had an appointment and did run ten minutes behind waited for about a min or 2 for the male receptionist ,because he was not in the reception , right away he began telling me i was late 11 minutes which according to him over 10 min is a cancelation the began to Act as if he was doing me a favor by taking me in because he said someone had canceled otherwise he had to cancel ,which makes no sense because I had an appointment! She is just trying to rush through my hair and I have long curly hair, she tells me all appointments are 45min and if she doesn't finish by that time o woudl have to leave with my hair un finished!!
