Mo is amazing. When I arrived, I had severely damaged hair that was falling out. I found this place via Yelp and read a note about restorative techniques. I've seen Mo about five times, and my hair looks great. I receive compliments all the time, even between appointments and after working out daily. I like the products she uses. But best of all, the salon is a very fun environment. Everyone is nice, even the customers.. They always give me a glass of wine, and we talk like best friends. I mean, all the ladies talk to me. The salon is very nice inside, very modern & chic. They have really good R&B type music playing as well. As soon as I walked in, I wasn't greeted by anyone as the host stand was empty, so I stood there for a few minutes. But Then a stylist (I'm assuming was the manager) was at another persons chair doing hair, said hello and would help me soon. But the host who was done sweeping still didn't say anything to me as I was sitting down right in front of her. I then noticed her & other people eating McDonald's at the front host desk as well. As far as the service, I will say my hair was perfectly straightened by the time I left. I believe it was Lani that did my hair. The only thing that could've been a little bit better was the wash. The water pressure was so high, I was getting soaked everywhere & it was splashing all the way to my chin even with my head tilted back. My collar on my shirt was even soaked & I've never had that happen before. However my hair was slick straight and that's all that mattered to me. My experience was horrible. They did not take their time with my hair. They lie about their availability. They'll schedule an appointment and then they'll cancel it and when they don't want to do your hair, especially Loni she made it very obvious to the point where she left the back of my hair matted, and as I left the salon, it was still a mess and they only gave me back half of my money ~Response. My card was not declined the style was done and paid for in full and i left with the hair wet and not fully blown dried. Im sure my hair was a little matted and again thats why I went to "professionals" My refund was then given back once I called in with a complaint. read more

Very disappointed! The event my high school reunion. I have soft wavy hair and I asked for those waves to be brought out so they would stand out more. I didn't want straight hair. I didn't want a curl at the end of my long streaks anyways long story short, I was very unhappy. With the result I asked her to fix it. She insisted it look great. I'm gonna tell you through the pictures you'll see , it all fell. There were no curls as I walked into my reunion. I had said I wanted a partial balayage plus a haircut. I don't want thinning shears or razor cutting-I need full ends for round brush styling. I did not say no scissors, which would not make since at all. You got back on the line gave me a quote of $600 and didn't offer no other stylist just a short answer of the price and said that certain stylist only does razor cutting. Now if razor cutting is referring to scissors then that should of been said to me. I replied that i did not want that done using the razor due to the fact my ends are balso damaged. Your reply was, Oh ya, thats how she does it. No other option was given to me. so I said no its ok and you replied ok, thank you and hung up. First of all $600 for a partial bayalage and cut is way way to overpriced, and along with not accomondating to a new client tells me a lot about this salon. so please dont try to sound friendly and making other suggestions when I was not offered. I never write reviews on yelp but it has to be said. First, some background. I scheduled a blow out the day of my birthday dinner. My appointment was with Arlene and I was super hopeful because of the reviews for this place. She washed my hair very well, but that was the only good thing about my service. Not that I care that much but the environment was unprofessional and it seemed as if they had overbooked Arlene because in the middle of my service 2 people had come in saying they were there for an appointment with her. You could tell Arlene started rushing once this happened because when doing my blowout she would pin up each section but towards the end she literally stopped sectioning my hair and started blow drying in big chunks and stopped pinning up my hair (she was visibly rushing). These are just a few things that bothered me about the service but again i didn't mind too much. Now to address the big issues for me. 1. When i first came and sat in the chair Arlene asks "do you want a round brush type of look or curling iron". Since im not a hairstylist I told her that I actually had an inspo. picture hoping that she would then tell ME what type of tool is needed to achieve the look i wanted. but no .. she just says (in an annoyed voice) "so round brush or curling iron" after looking at my inspo. pic. I should've spoken up and asked her what SHE thought but i figured since I showed her the picture maybe she knew she could achieve the look with either round brush or curling iron and was just asking which one I preferred. I told her "round brush". 2. At the end of the service, like I said, it was very rushed but I was faced away from the mirror the whole time so I just remained hopeful. But, when she faced me towards the mirror at the end of the service, I wanted to cry. My hair was almost pin straight, something I could've easily achieved at home and NOTHING like what I asked for (pictures included) . I'm not a confrontational person at all so of course I proceeded to pay (and tip) .. But i'm just so frustrated with the experience and the $90 that was wasted. :( As you can see in the pictures below (left is inspo. pic. & right is my result) my results were nothing like the picture and didn't look professionally done at all. Just to put this in perspective, my sister had actually decided to blow out her hair on her own and when I came home from my appointment her hair had way more volume than mine did.. a professional service. Had a great color job and bang trim by Loni!! I had a general idea of what I wanted, but, honestly, it was my first time dying my hair. I wanted to go darker than my natural medium brown, but not too dark that the color would look synthetic. Loni understood the assignment! On the color chart I picked out a really dark black (just below jet black), but Loni did some kind of color magic that resulted in the perfect shade. I swear, I NEVER leave a salon satisfied. This was the FIRST time I was so happy as soon as I saw myself in the mirror. She gave me the darker tint I was looking for, but also it looked very natural, which is what I wanted and was my biggest worry going in. After researching for weeks I decided to try the hair cafe. They had great reviews. I liked the pics that I saw of the work that was done there so I made the appt. Captoria was able to meet with me sooner than expected. I pulled into the parking lot and was so happy to see that the location was great. The salon is super bright and very chic. I was greeted as I walked in and offered a beverage. I waited maybe 15 minutes then was in my seat. She asked me what I was looking for in terms of my cut. This was my second trip to the salon and as last time everyone is super friendly and welcoming as expected, and I was happy to see the owner. However my visit today was far from what I wanted. The first time I got my hair done it was by the owner, I absolutely loved it. A new stylist did my hair today and I didn't like it all. She Even referred to as "Auntie vibes" when she was done..... I'm 24. It Wasn't funny. I won't say her name as you have to take these things with a grain of salt. What didn't work for my hair may work for another's with that stylist and someone else may love it. But I paid 165$ for something I tied up as soon as I got to my car lol I beyond upset I almost didn't tip aha. But this shop is still amazing and I will continue to take my business their as I love supporting black business owners.. but moving forward for me only the owner will be touching my head from now on... I was going to a Halloween music festival and I needed to wear a wig for my Halloween costume. Because I have long hair, I needed to get my hair braided first. I scheduled an appointment with the braider, Shianne. When I arrived at the salon, I loved the vibes there. It was very clean. While I was waiting for my appointment, I realized I forgot to bring a water bottle and felt thirsty. The lady at the front desk offered me a drink before I could ask. That was very kind. Throughout my appointment with Shianne, she was super nice and friendly. I could tell she was a pro at braiding because she worked very quickly and efficiently, and the braids looked perfect at the same time. She truly went above and beyond because she even helped me put on the wig cap and wig, and cut the bangs. I was very grateful that she helped me with that because I am terrible at putting wigs on myself.
