What I don't understand is why they didn't take their own experience and profession into account and simply decline the repair if it was that likely to fail. As a mechanic myself, I know what I will and won't break. And if I advise a customer to do something and it breaks because of my actions, I take responsibility for it. They did polish the ring and it looks nice, but that's about the only positive I can point to. Instead, they wanted to charge me $70 to fix the damage they caused, then recommended adding a shank for over $200, with the ring not ready until the next day. That's not accountability, that's passing the cost onto the customer. Overall, poor judgment, poor handling of the situation, and a really frustrating experience. I won't be coming back.

Old fashioned service that is rarely seen these days. Al Giraldo is wonderfully easy to work with. I began working with Mr. Giraldo in 2020 while he was dealing with two business challenges that would have been my undoing. As if the Pandemic weren't enough, Al Momentum's shop in Preston Royal was ravaged by the October 2019 tornado that tore through the heart of North Dallas. While the building with his shop is being restored, Mr. Giraldo works out of an apartment across Noel Road from the Galleria, where he meets with customers by appointment in the building's well-lighted lobby with comfortable seating. Another customer walked in, and after a brief moment, the salesman excused himself to go address the new customer. My girlfriend and I took that opportunity to gracefully exit and try to do so discreetly. This is when I realized we were locked in the store. The salesman had a key-fob that unlocked the door when a customer rang the doorbell, and in order to leave, he had to be the one to let you out. Unfortunately, I had to get the salesman's attention in order to leave. He asked if we were done talking with him, and after my "yes", he said, "well, before I let you out, do you want to come over here and get a business card?" Immediately, I felt trapped inside this store, wanting to leave gracefully and discreetly, but I couldn't. Let me be clear. I do not appreciate being locked in a store and not being able to protect my woman (even by simply leaving the building) when she feels uncomfortable or threatened. I have absolutely no intention of returning. I will add, before we went to this place, we went to Duffy's Jewelry, and had an absolute 10/10 great experience. They were very pleasant, professional, and extremely kind and knowledgeable.
