So I'm a thrift store and I depend on finding new stores. This store had promise as it was in a more upscale place. I understand that all goodwills are different, which that part I guess I don't understand, but this one definitely was by far the most expensive. Lots of counterfeit items as well which is to be expected at thrift stores but when your trying to separate yourself from the rest ABD charge more, then you should weed out the counterfeits as well. Loved this place. Nicely curated selection of goods and clothing. This place has an Urban Outfitters or Anthropologie kind of feel to it but with amazingly cheap prices. If you're donating they do not accept large items such as furniture here. read more

This is the fanciest and hippest goodwill I've ever seen. I was really feeling the ~VIBE~ of this goodwill. The decorations are very modern and they have a little record player station where you can play different records. The clothing selection reminds me more of Buffalo Exchange than a Goodwill. read more

Hard to find. Parking garage is relatively adjacent to the shop. Super small selection. It appears curated, so there were no ball gowns, no sequin dresses, no random gems, not even any t-shirts since we are in the middle of "winter" here. Because they are curated, I paid $30 for the sweater I found. I only paid that since I'm down to the wire preparing an outfit for my holiday party. But definitely not a deal. read more

Wow! What a gem. This place was so much fun. Certainly did not feel like a Goodwill nor the merchandise felt like thrift shop material. This felt more like an urban, funky, chic boutique. A bit more than regular Goodwills but well worth it. Many awesome treasures to be found. read more

I came here looking to expand my vinyl record collection. It's honestly probably the best place to do so on a budget, even if I didn't find anything I actually wanted. Let's see, what can I say about this shop to fill up the rest of this review? It's hard to find, first of all. GPS can only go so far, and for some reason does not want to send you down the small side street that the storefront actually sits on. I found it eventually, but it was a chore to find. And yeah, I only came here to look at records, so I can't say if the plethora of knick knacks and clothes strewn about are worth your time. The records might be, though keep in mind these are all records that have been given away. It'll change from week to week I'm sure, but be prepared to find a lot of cheesy 70s and 80s music. And not even always good cheesy. Will probably head back sometime, but not in a rush to do so. (PS. It's kind of cute seeing all the reviews of people saying "Finally listened to my first vinyl record here!" and it's whale songs or something. Not knocking you, it's just nice to see such enthusiasm for something like that.) read more

Before this I have never been to Rare By Goodwill or even heard of it. This is for sure a hidden gem. They have adorable little nic-nacs and interesting clothes. My favorite thing there was the amount of records they had... PLUS they had record players there so you could test out the record before buying. ONLY issue I had was that it was EXTREMELY dusty and I had a sneezing attack. Other than that this place was wonderful and I will be back for sure. read more

Use to love this place when they first opened! Maybe it was just because there was so much hype and so many people were telling me how much I would love it since I'm a huge thrifter. However I felt as if I had to live up to everyone else's expectations. Exterior/Interior (4/5): it's a very cute look! I love how it was designed and it's a really nice arrangement on the inside. Love the glass look on the outside as well. Clothes (3/5): their clothes are fine, but nothing more than like buffalo exchange or something. Their price range is normally $8-15 and sometimes $20. So it can get pricey which I don't prefer. It's more of what people call a "higher end" thrift store. However, as someone who loves to thrift I'm not really down to spend $15/20 on something I could just go to forever 21 for. Service (3/5): service is just OK here. They never really seem to greet you when you come in and never really ask if you need help with anything. One time I wanted to try something on and it took them practically 10 minutes just to open one of the doors for me! Don't really think anyone should have to wait that long just to try on some over priced top. Also just the other day we waited for more than 5 minutes and no one came out to ring us up at the register. I literally had to go to the back of the store and ask for someone to help us at the front. The gal sitting in the back room stared at me for a few moments, sighed really heavily and got up and walked to the register. It was such an awkward and rude gesture! I asked super politely too and I don't know what her deal was from that. Please train your employees to be polite and respectful even if they're not in a good mood or whatever. Customer service is a HUGE deal for me, especially since I've worked in it myself. It's nice to swing by here after a meal at Pokinometry, but I rather just go somewhere else if I want to actually buy something. read more

To be honest, I can never find anything here. The selection for men is useless... For women though, it seems to be working. I hate how the sizes are so difficult to find, it's never categorized into sections, but rather just put neatly in stacks at random. The selection for men is very small and not great at all. .I absolutely love thrift store shopping, so I decided to take the trip and visit... it's definitely a really cute looking boutique from the outside it has glass windows and very cute mannequin presentation and I really liked that, inside everything was very nicely folded and everything was in their designated area! prices are a little high and bags/purses are especially expensive. Honestly, when I read the reviews I was kind of thrilled there would be a Goodwill that specializes in collecting rare, valuable fashion pieces. However, that was very far from the truth. All the clothing that I found were from generic stores like Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe. I think if you're looking for old cameras or random electronics like a 50's typewriter, you may be in the right store. But if you're looking to add a great addition to your wardrobe, don't expect to find much here. Also, the prices seem a bit much for a Goodwill. I saw a Forever 21 shirt going for $10-12, which is probably 50% of what it would cost brand new. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but if I were shopping in a thrift store, I would expect to see items priced at less than 25% MSRP. Then 25-35% MSRP at a resale store and greater than 35% for consignment stores. That's all I'm saying. By the way, you can catch a ride here from the Anaheim Packing District if you take the FREE trolley. read more

Had the chance to visit this particular Goodwill boutique after wanting to go there for ages. Our visit ended up being surprisingly short because after some rummaging, there wasn't much promise. Although there were plenty of clothes of all sorts - jackets, boots, bags, dresses and more - for both men and women, I couldn't really find anything. A lot of the styles were for a bit older crowd, in my opinion, although they did have a considerable amount of junior clothes. I saw some brand names like Calvin Klein shoes and a Dooney&Burke bag but not too many. I do have to say that this shop is really organized and has nice decor. They have a number of racks to hang all their clothes on and organize it by color and the store has a definite hipster feel. The workers are really nice too and greet you when you come in and out.The prices are about the same as the other Goodwill stores which is great and they even had an additional 25% off particular styles when I visited. I managed to find parking along the street parallel to its entrance but I don't think it's usually that's easy since there's no public lot. All in all, the clothes found here were not as "rare" as I expected them to be but the place gave a much better environment and feeling than your traditional Goodwill. Shopping here, you almost feel as if you're looking through a typical one of a kind boutique. read more

This place pretty much found all the diamonds in the rough and laid them out for you. No tedious hanger pushing necessary. What more can you ask for in a thrift store? I myself love me some flannel button ups (hipster I know) and they had several racks of great shirts. Hell, I found an almost new Pendleton for $19. Who cares if it's used. This stuff looks as good as urban outfitters but way cheaper. Will return. 10/10 would bang. read more

I needed to find a cocktail dress for a work event, and it was a success here! They have a variety of dresses and casual clothes as well. Prices are amazing, it's hard to leave with just one item. Such a well organized store without the funky thrift store smell. Yes, the pricing is slightly higher than a regular thrift store, but everything is already sorted out for you. If you're one of those people who love the thrill of hunting down that perfect thrift find, this store is not for you. Every is already sorted out based off the piece of clothing and often times even organized based off the color. Service is nice. About 60% of the store is filled with clothing for women and the rest for men. Which isn't bad considering it's still a thrift store. They do have a glass display which displays different articles of fine jewelry or those rare high fashion designer finds. Overall the shop is great. They have a small dressing room towards the side, so make sure to try everything on beforehand. read more

This place makes shopping at Goodwill an entirely new experience. It reminded me of Anthropologie store with the decor and hip touches everywhere. The clothes are all nicely organized throughout the store too and the dressing rooms are nicer than some department store dressing rooms that I've been in. $18 for a high quality brand jacket and a shirt? Yes please! The guy working behind the counter was super nice too. Just be warned they don't take American Express but they do accept all other forms of CC and debit payments. This is located right down the street from Pokinometry too, another one of my favorites so I can get a great poke/sushi bowl and then stop in here. If you want parking right out front you might have to fight for a street/parallel parking spot but there's a lot just a short distance away across the Ducks place and theres also the Wells Fargo parking structure behind it that I believe you can park in (I'm not 100% on that though). Definitely worth it though! read more

Rare is.... an interesting place. It's kind of like a slammed together Urban Outfitters minus most of the cool quirky stuff and actually good clothes. It's a hit and miss. Some items were really nice and did look "rare", others were just so tacky they could have just as easily been in a discount bin in someone's unfortunate yard sale. Their prices aren't all that, but I guess every week they have sale days and discounts, so that might make it worth it to check out regularly. If you love to sift through piles of folded, but not organized with any rhyme or reason, clothes, this is definitely your place. I will say the design of the store is really well done, and looks like a small UO, which looks like what they were going for. Would be two, but three stars because the day I came in, the woman working the front was super helpful and let me pull items off a couple mannequins (I was that girl, and I'm so so sorry!!) **I did end up buying all of the items she grabbed for me, so at least the annoyance was a little justified** read more

Why is this location so far?!?! I wish there were more like these! Could you guys make one in SD?! So, Rare by Goodwill, is what you think it is- it's a thrift store, just like Goodwill but the really good stuff! It's organized, up-to-date, they have specials (like 30% off sweaters or 30% off jeans). They have the soft rayon pants, printed leggings- really great stuff! Sure some stuff might be $20-$30, but that is chump change to it's original retail price! If I wasn't in such a rush to eat at Pokinometry, I would've bought the whole store. It's definitely worth checking out, especially if you're into thrifting! read more

This place is great!! Discovered this gem on my way to pokinometry. Didn't even know this place existed. This store is basically made up of all the good stuff goodwill gets. It's a lot of the cute and branded stuff, seems like goodwill just collected all their designer donations and put it at this store. It's easy to find something cute here. I ended up getting a cute mini Bloomingdales backpack for $14.99 that was exactly my total, they don't tax!! The pricing is kind of pricey for a second hand store but some of their things are designer brands such as juicy and Bloomingdales so it's understandable. Parking is very limited, I did see a parking structure but I'm not sure if it's free or if it's for the shops around the area. Check this place out if you're looking for designer hand me downs. Really cool place. Didn't have too high of expectations because...c'mon people it's Goodwill. Trendy exterior, and the inside is just as cool looking. Spent waaay longer there than expected. I told myself 30 minutes max, but ended up getting lost rummaging through everything. There's good and not so good things (forever 21) to choose from, you just have to sort through it like any other thrift store. I really liked the graphic tees section in the men's. Also, nice staff who were pleasant and helpful. 9/10 overall read more

Doing work and seen this cool spot and decided to go inside. Great prices and cool gear. Browsed around and found a perfect gift for my son- who loves anything military. While doing work we have to park in structure and I leave wallet in car. I asked to hold this while I get money 1000 feet away. I came back inside 8 minutes later and the bearded short employee walked away and came back with item in his hand as he had put it back for sale. I said it's kinda messed up. He said he put it in the back cause he was trying to fix it........ I seen him folding clothes--- not fixing anything. MAYBE SHOULD FIX BEING HONEST TO CUSTOMERS. For that I will not be coming back. We drove around for 20 mins. and could not find any parking spaces, so we thought we need to go during the week when everyone should be at work! What an awesome way to market recycled clothing and stuff. Its basically a Goodwill but has been pre-sorted to fit your liking. They have a cool little section for books, things for the home, and of course clothes and shoes that any hipster or bum (because I sometimes get the two mixed hah) would gravitate to. Although Goodwill is for profit, they also run various rehabilitation programs to get youth and adults educated and off the streets and partner with a lot of agencies in the community to assist the community. Not so bad right? Better than some other shops like say...Walmart? All in all, it encourages recycling which is a positive in my book. A super cute thrift store. Props to Goodwill for realizing the potential of a hipster thrift shop. Everything about this place screams aesthetic, from the chairs on the wall to the book corner, so make sure you have your cameras ready for your next Instagram photo. It's still a thrift store, so you'll have to look to see if you find anything you like. Everything in the shop was pretty nice, though the prices were definitely slightly higher than typical Goodwill prices - understandable. In addition to clothes, they have record players and other home decor pieces. The only way I managed to leave without buying anything was by reminding myself how much I have already been spending that week. Otherwise, I'd probably do a decent amount of shopping. Parking also seems like it can be a problem during busier hours, but we managed to find a spot. read more

This place is awesome! I came here after eating at Pokinometry! I had no idea that this place existed until I walked past it. Rare by Goodwill is located on a small street right on Broadway. The parking is difficult to get on the street, so you're stuck parking in the parking structure which is a bit of a walk, especially on a 90 degree day! The air conditioner was broken and it was in the high 80's in the store. Rare by Goodwill has a lot of name branded stuff and more "stylish" and "modern" stuff. Everything is well organized and I didn't feel overwhelmed when looking through the clothes. The staff is extremely friendly and greeted everyone walking it and asked if I had any questions. There is a dressing room to try on any clothes you are interested in before making your purchase which I took advantage of. I walked out with a pair of Club Monaco shorts for $7, a laced top for $7 and a jean skirt for $9. I was a happy camper. :) This is the only location they have so far, so I'm hoping they will open more up in the future! read more

It's sucks to go to a store and have crappy employees who give attitude the whole time. There was no one on the floor, they were all together in what I assume is the office. The first time I ever went here, the employees gave me attitude for asking about a sale item that I found in the sale rack that wasn't discounted at the end, I left it at that. Then today I go and she has attitude the whole time she's checking me out because I asked her to ring us up. I must have interrupted a very serious conversation in the office.... Not. It's a cool concept and I would like to go there with better employees. Hopefully the next time I'm in the city, There's different employees or better trained employees. Even when she came up to actually do her job, she didn't say hi... just handed us the bag and walked away. It's funny because there's even an announcement to come out and check the floors which they didn't. There was also McDonald's cup half drank because they didn't even bother checking. Idk, I can ramble like I am. But you get the point lol read more

I feel like this is the place you go to if you are luxury thrifting. all the clothes are very neat and the whole place is very aesthetic and vintage however there's a very very very little selection and most of the pieces have already been picked through. The pricing too is quite high considering it is a retail store most of the items were around $10-$20 with the few that were on sale. Also the changing rooms needed you to ask the staff for a key which made changing really awkward and something that I didn't necessarily want to do. Overall just a really fancy looking store with no real stuff. read more
