Upon arrival we were greeted by Renè who warmly welcomed us with a smile. Since it was my first time there I wasn't sure how all of the tea flavors tasted and she was very knowledgeable about the teas, the flavors, the pairings of toppings and milk options both plant based and non which made it very useful for me as a vegan consumer. The atmosphere was very mellow and had very modern style tables and stools along with chill music to fit the vibe of the whole place. The wooden tables and chairs created a cozy feel but still fitting in with the hipster vibe of downtown Orlando. Amongst the tea options they also had cold teas with boba as well as icecream flavors and toppings that are served in house made waffle cones. During this visit we purchased the Okinawa tea hot which tasted like a warm, explosion of flavor. The best way I can describe it would be a nutty and comforting taste with what reminded me of biscoff. The next flavor was the brown sugar caramel tea with oat milk. The oat milk gave that cozy vibe of an oatmeal essence that warms the soul. I can not wait to return and try other flavors of these wonderful selections provided by this amazing tea spot. I love to get the Strawberry Snow Cream - which is strawberry tea with a cheese foam on the top. I actually didnt know this, but i saw the employee blending up the strawberries fresh! So good! There is a small seating area to chill and drink your teas. There range in price from about $6-9 for 1 tea. You can add boba if you want but its not my preference most of the time. It may be overly sweet for others but I enjoy the combination of milks they use to create the beverage. The staff is always friendly and the interior designing is cute. My friend and I ordered the Caramelized Brown Sugar Boba Fresh Milk and Okinawa Milk tea. Unfortunately the brown milk was way too thick. It was creamy like how it should be but it was way too creamy that it was thick to swallow. The okinawa milk tea was the opposite. My friend said it tasted too watered down by the ice even when we tasted it right away once it came out. I'm guessing the proportions were off? My boyfriend and I wanted to go to a bubble tea place that we hadn't tried before so we happened to see this new establishment on Yelp with only 6 reviews. It was a little difficult to find and was tucked in a little niche right by Jinya Ramen. We walked right by it once. Although the store front is small the space inside is quite surprising in that it feels quite large due to the high ceilings and minimalist contemporary design. The tea menu was extensive and we decided on the Okinawa milk tea with boba and the strawberry matcha milk tea with boba. I've had a strawberry matcha milk tea from Boba Guys before (a boba chain on the west coast) and from a local coffee shop, Craft Coffee. I found this to be on par with Boba Guys. In all honesty, the Craft Coffee version did not impress me but it may be unfair to compare it because Craft Coffee's focus is coffee although they offer some other specialty drinks. The Okinawa milk tea wasn't anything special and tasted like regular milk tea to me. We both thought the boba was well done and was cooked perfectly. It was fresh and warm in our drinks. Some may not like that but we did not mind. Service was fairly quick. The price was similar to other boba establishments and we paid about 17 bucks for both our drinks with tax and a small tip. Seating was for smaller intimate parties of two people. There is a loft space upstairs but it isn't open to the public at this time. It's a fairly quiet establishment and would be a good place to go for a first date or place to hang out and have a good talk with a friend. All-in-all we enjoyed our experience there! After sipping, I was pleased with both the taste and proportion of ingredients used to make the beverage and should note the tapioca bubbles were made fresh so this drink was most definitely on point. My boyfriend ordered a strawberry smoothie with lychee jelly and claims it tasted well but would not quote on quote "call it a smoothie" due to the lower viscosity of the beverage in comparison to other smoothies he's had in the past. We came to RareTea because it is a relatively newer bobble tea establishment in the area, which could be refreshing to find given that Central Florida is filled with Asian restaurant and markets alike. The Leone what sour flavor of the strawberry mixed surprisingly well with the matcha, you could tell both parts were freshly made and mixed exceedingly with the also freshly made boba, which was soft, tender, and not too chewy to taste. We also ordered an Okinawa Milk tea, but we were low-key disappointed that it kinda tastes just like regular milk tea. Maybe the regular boba milk tea that we are used to is actually Okinawa milk tea.
