I am not sure if it was the fact that she wears a pink baseball cap, but no, I think Dana is just wonderful.

Splash Swim School in Walnut Creek has been outstanding for our family. What makes this place so…read morespecial is not just the program, it is the people. Coach Fio, Ryan, and Devon have been incredibly patient, encouraging, and kind with our kids. And Conor, the manager, truly sets the tone. He goes above and beyond to make families feel supported and welcomed, and it is clear he genuinely cares about each child's experience. Our kids can be tough customers and there have been plenty of lessons where they did not want to get in the water at all. The team never gets frustrated or makes it feel like a problem. They stay patient, meet the kids where they are, and keep the focus on helping them feel safe, comfortable, and happy. What we appreciate most is that they make learning fun while still teaching real water safety and swimming skills. That balance is not easy, and this team does it so well. We are very grateful for the care, consistency, and heart they bring every week. Highly recommend Splash Swim School, especially this Walnut Creek team.

We politely and patiently waited in line behind her. This same elderly lady had the audacity to let her 3 acquaintances who showed up later to cut in line w/ her. I spoke up and told her friend that we were in line and that they basically cut. She apologized, but for the future, it would be good for an employee to pls step out and assure that the general public must practice the common decency when waiting in line in a fair and orderly manner. Otherwise, thank you for providing the clean swimming pool, and courteous services!

The kids loved the giant inflatable and diving board in the deep pool. Now the bad...we visited during the week and thought it would be quiet yet we were proved wrong. When we arrived at 1p it was quiet yet soon the place was crawling with camps and large groups of kids. While we were there, one group was in the large pool and someone in their group decided it was a good idea to in the pool. The pool was immediately cleared so the same group went to the shallow pool and decided they were going to in that pool too. This left only the deep pool open with tons of kids waiting in line for the diving board and obstacle course. Another thing to note the only way to get to the pool is by going through the locker room. We had to take our children through a room of older women walking around naked freely. Gross! There should be another entrance for families with children. Overall too many minuses to out weigh the pluses.

Before they started, I warned their instructor that we did not expect much because both of them were very hesitant about getting in the water and often refused to even try things like putting their face in the water or doing assisted floating. Jianna did an AMAZING job with my kids, because by the end of the 4 weeks, my 5 year old was swimming unassisted in backstroke and freestyle across the pool, and practicing skills to keep herself afloat and able to safely get to the wall. My 3 year old who wanted nothing to do with the water was getting in on his own, kicking when instructed, and even attempting to blow bubbles. Jianna was so patient and positive with my kids, and they looked forward to seeing her every day. She was attentive and so knowledgeable, and was able to work with very different development and skill levels extremely effectively. She has taken away so much stress from this mom and I am extremely grateful to her and Sunsational for these lessons. Definitely will be using again and highly recommend!

It's adjacent to Larkey Park, so if the shared parking lots get full, you'll find plenty of free street parking. The pool itself is divided into several section - beginners (3.5 to 4.5 feet max depth), diving, and for lap swimming. They have lifeguards everywhere and they do a fine job of maintaining order. The water temperature was perfect. Our 5yo son seems to have a natural inkling for water but he enjoyed the pool far more than the splash pad, which is also popular with young kids. I tried carrying him up on the water slide but he refused. Note: for taller folks, they have a pretty intense water spray on top of the slide that can blind you. Imagine max shower pressure right on your face, LOL! Other amenities are large locker and changing rooms with clean showers, small picnic areas for sun tanning or relaxing, and plenty of benches and tables to store your bags or snacks. They also have a vending machine for cold drinks. Definitely plan on returning when the pool opens up again (9/27/25 was the last day for the summer). A definite bargain at just over $20 for a family of three.

My daughter started at age 9, and under Coach Eric's guidance, she has quickly improved in both diving and life skills like confidence, focus, and teamwork. The whole community is supportive, and the kids truly thrive. Coach Eric is very experienced and always gives clear, personalized feedback. He's great at explaining things to both kids and parents. Whether it's in the water or Dryland, he's always focused and encouraging. The facility is fully equipped, and the flexible schedule is a big plus for families. On vacation last summer, her aunt (a former D1 diver) showed her some dives and suggested she just "try" diving. They looked online, found Cal Diving Academy, and sent an e-mail. Coach Eric called my daughter that afternoon to tell her about the program and suggested she come in the following week just to try it out. My daughter did not intend to switch sports then and there, but she loved diving and everything about Cal Diving Academy. From day one, the coaches and the other divers have been welcoming, friendly, and inclusive. The coaching has been incredible. Her diving is beautiful and she has learned so much. More importantly, the coaches show incredible kindness, compassion, and are very attentive to the whole athlete. Guiding them gently through fears and getting to know them as people. We just had our first lesson with teacher Mark. It was worth every dime!…read moreI had been on the fence for a while about private lessons. However my kids will be the oldest ones with floatees on and it's about that time! They've been crying at swimming lessons so I thought I would give it at a try at our community pool, where they have have had nothing but happy memories. So you're probably wondering why you should shell out $$$ for lessons: 1. They are not that much more when you consider the convenience of lessons at your pool when you want them 2. One on one or semi-private, as opposed to 4 Kids to a class! 3. The teacher progresses at your child's pace, not to the lowest denominator. Within 9 minutes (yes, count them), teacher Mark had them doing "Big Arms". My kids have been doing "torpedoes" and floats forever in group lessons. I don't recall them doing arms. Then they moved to the deep. At this rate we will be out of floatees in 2 weeks! If you want your kids to learn water safety and to swim at their own pace, this is the way to go!!! I may sign up my oldest as well to get her ready for competitive swim team!
