We ended up coming in a little while before they closed for the afternoon, but I think it worked out pretty well. We ordered butter chicken, aloo gobi, and mushroom matter (all mild) as well as samosa, cheese naan and tea. Everything was pretty good; the only thing slightly disappointing was that the mushroom matter didn't have more mushrooms and had more peas than expected. I have no complaints about the service, the waitress was quite nice and we chatted a bit. While we were there, we had the restaurant to ourselves, but it looked like it was arranged to decently accommodate a few parties of 10 to 15 people alongside smaller tables. I will also note we have gotten take out from them and it's also been pretty good, no major complaints there I can think of. read more

Worst Indian food I have had in a very very long time. Ordered Daal Makhani, chicken curry, daal tadka, other side orders. Both Daal Makhani and chicken curry were really sweet. Chicken curry was almost dessert level sweet and without taste. Daal Tadka was fine(Thankfully and likely they didn't use the tomato paste in it). I am super surprised to see 4 star reviews for this place. Oh also, onion naan had a relatively huge piece of rock. I have never heard of sweet Chicken curry, Daal makhani, rocks in Naan. OMG so I'm not an indian food expert but I enjoy Indian food and like the more flavorful and robust foods from asian cultures. I am blown away by how amazing their food was!!! I ordered the samosas, the butter tikki chicken and the garlic naan, EVERYTHING was so flavorful and amazing, like literal explosion of flavor in my mouth. AND I'm i stickler for good quality meat to the point where I will not order chicken often at restaurants but their butter tikki chicken is chicken breast and was cooked to perfection, soft, tender, and just so good. The food is good but another Indian restaurant India 4 you in Manteca quality food is better! The service was horrible the man were rude! I ordered twice from doordash and ordered their raita large and online it says $5 but I revived a small and was told the large is $10 so they falsely put prices on items online ! Make sure to check your order I even ordered goat curry and was given eggplant and seen it when I got home ! The inside is small average. The food was delicious! I read some of the reviews and must agree that more rice should be given for what we ordered. We received a pint of rice for 3 orders (tandoori chicken, butter chicken, and lamb curry). We also ordered 3 garlic naan. My son ate all the rice and some of my naan. So please, add more rice for the order. It is cheap enough. We had curry and chicken left but no rice to eat it with. I also read about rude service...but it may be a simple misunderstanding of the Asian culture. We get to the point and can be straight forward. This marks an authentic Asian restaurant! read more

Well, it's been a year since I first tried Rasoi, and the food and service remain excellent. The owner has an curiously precise memory; he knew exactly what dishes I'd ordered all that time ago. On my second visit, we ate in-house rather than getting take-out, which is my preferred way to enjoy Indian food as the fried appetizers and naan are still hot and crisp. I ordered: palak paneer with potatoes instead of paneer, vegetable korma with coconut milk, vegetable pakoras, and naan. The real standout were the pakoras and chutneys--superb! They were just the right size for easy munching and there were quite a lot of them, too. The curries were both good, but mild rather than the medium-spicy I'd asked for. The owner quickly offered to remedy the problem; he took them both back into the kitchen and added some heat. As I said, terrific service. The portions really are more generous than is usual for Indian and we brought a lot home. Even bought some extra naan to go with it. And unlike some cuisines, this stuff is actually better the second day; the flavors intensify overnight. read more

We stoped @ this place on our way home from Tahoe. It is a hidden gem. Every single Dish was very good. We were a large party & ordered verity of dishes. Samosa Chat & Veg Biryani were my personal most favorites. The owner & stag were very helpful & super nice. I will definitely stop here on my next road trip. Very disappointing today. I've been going here since they first opened but today I decided I will not go back. It had been at least a year or more since I'd eaten here and was so excited to make the time to go. I asked for butter chicken with "no spice" and/or "no hot"since I have stomach issues and in the past I was told to make sure to ask.. the waiter argued it is mild there is not a no spice/hot level. But it's the same 1 - mild or 2 medium. I got the food and tried to eat it asked for yogurt which I had to drown it in since it was too hot for me. Also the nan I recieved was terrible- thin, mostly hard and cold. After I told the waiter I can never bring my elderly dad here this is just too hot and he says they can make it 0 spicy! I asked him why did he tell me no when I tried to order it & why he told me not possible!? He then asked if I was mad and I told him no I am just very disappointed & I won't be coming back, he asked how was my meal and I told him it was too hot for me that's why I had to order a side of yogurt and that's the only way I could eat it all sauce was left all yogurt gone. For readers It honestly was not very good anyway. No I won't be back and I definitely will never suggest it or take guests there anymore. Very good food! Big bowl per order. You can choose for it to be spicy or not and so my husband and I got a spicy chicken tika masala and regular butter chicken, and order of garlic naan. There were 5 of us total and they only gave one bowl of rice and it of course wasn't enough so we had to ask for more idk if there was extra charge though..... we also had to ask for water multiple times which was a bit annoying because we were running out of water. Anyways it's not expensive either the bill was $65 and we had an appetizer and 3 other main entrees. Overall very good food just be prepared to ask for more water and rice. read more

I usually never do reviews but today was just sought awful with my friends. After picking up our food we arrived home and noticed a butter chicken missing. We called to let them know so we can get our full order or refund but they started yelling aggressively how they won't do anything for us because $13 will ruin their business.... how cheap can you get. THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT....the FOOD was far beyond my expectations because each dish had its own unique taste and ingredients. The Eggplant curry is a MUST including the Chicken Tikka Masala. After your meal, get some mango ice cream and their home brewed chai which is just perfect in my opinion. Not too sweet when you order sweet. The naan and the samosas were delicious, however the butter chicken was a complete disaster!
