Top Tier! Everything is made from scratch and with amazing care! The Caroline Salad was absolutely amazing and I had it drizzled with a hand crafted mix of vinegar and oil. I saw a family come in after us and the children were given some seat cushions. I might ask for them next time! My husband ordered a glass of Cabernet and I had the Pinot Grigio. Yelp photos showed a bar with a cocktail menu, but that is no longer available. I should have taken a menu photo because there are no longer entrees, just pizza and a special of the day which was lasagna. We each ordered a side salad, a half hot honey pepperoni and half margarita pizza, and a lasagna. The food was served hot and everything was fresh and tasted good. I felt the lasagna was pricy at $32 for a single portion with three small garlic bread pieces. I would not order it again. It was just okay. We ordered the cheesecake for dessert. It came with a delicious berry topping. It was excellent. The service was excellent. It is a small restaurant, so make a reservation to ensure a table. Such a hidden gem of a restaurant. We picked up 1/2 Margarita and 1/2 Pepperoni and also the salad. Everything was so delicious and flavorful! Definitely the best sit down restaurant in lathrop. Firstly, the service is phenomenal. I went in when the owner was there, and the lady was welcoming and explained in detail what makes the pizza unique. She had a very friendly attitude. Secondarily, the kitchen is open so you can see exactly what the chefs are doing from the dining area - everything looked clean and it was good to be able to see that. The pizza also tasted superb - there are not a lot of New Haven style pizzas in California, and it's great to see this unique style of pizza in the Central Valley. Just finished a wonderful meal at a very charming spot We stopped by Olive Oil Pantry when the market first opened and they were working on the restaurant and promised to come back..... life got busy but we finally made the time and we are so glad we did and are so ready to return. Service was wonderful, the entire staff welcomed us and dotted over us. Nice relaxing atmosphere where you can watch your meal being prepared and can interact with the staff. We had the appetizer special; bolognese served over toasted bruschetta and it was so fresh and so good.... I could've had just it as my main course. We then had a half-and-half pizza, choosing half Margherita and half pepperoni with hot honey. The crust was so thin and crisp, the best pizza we've had in the area. We finished our meal off with a slice of their olive oil cake with a drizzle of limoncello olive oil...... another great choice. We were so happy with our meal and the service and the interaction with the owners and staff that we definitely will be back. Will have to try some of their other dishes next time. This is a perfect "date night" location or a great place for a couples date. My only regret is that I didn't take photos of the beautiful dishes that we were served! I was excited to see that Olive Oil Pantry had opened in a new location, with a twist! It's now Olive Oil Market & Restaurant, located right across from Dell'Oso Farms, off the freeway. The location opened about 3 weeks ago, so they're still working on getting everything where they want it with the market, etc. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I decided to try the Greek salad and fettuccine Alfredo, as I figured those would be best options for saving a part for the following day's lunch. The dressing options include a variety of the balsamics and olive oils offered by Olive Pantry, so I let them decide which they thought was best for my salad choice. The restaurant has an entrance from both the parking lot and through the market- the kitchen is open so you get to watch them prepare your meal. It's a small kitchen, therefore a semi-limited menu, but a tasty looking one! The fettuccine Alfredo is perfectly creamy and flavorful, and the bread served with it... a garlicky chef's kiss! If I need a pasta fix, this is where I'm headed. From my seat I got to watch (and maybe drool a little) as I watched the garlic being pressed into the pot for the next batch of Alfredo being concocted. Caroline, (sp?), was absolutely fantastic. This hidden gem turned our uneventful stop in Lathrop into a truly memorable experience! Tucked away off the beaten path, this unassuming spot completely blew us away. Although we were initially disappointed that the main courses were unavailable during our visit, settling for the Caroline salad and Margherita pizza turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It was easily the best pizza and salad we have ever tasted. You can taste the quality in every bite: the dough is fermented for three days, the pizza sauce is imported from Italy, and they use incredible California olive oil with a vinaigrette that is beyond compare. To top it all off, the owners were incredibly friendly and hospitable--they even surprised me with a birthday cake! You simply won't find this level of warmth in Los Angeles. This restaurant is attached to a small gift shop, where you can purchase items such as balsamic vinegar, different types of Italian sauces, and assorted dry fruit. We ordered a New Haven-style pizza, the hummus sampler plate with cheese, the bruschetta, and we sampled the margarita pizza. The New Haven-style pizza was spot on. My personal preference is a little bit more mozzarella cheese. But having said that, you're not gonna be able to find a better New Haven-style pizza unless you go to the East Coast. The crust was spot on, and so was the sauce, and it was cooked perfectly. As for the margarita sample, that was the bomb, again cooked perfectly with the correct amount of char. The bruschetta was delicious, and the balsamic vinegar was of the highest quality. The hummus was delicious. I could not have been more pleased with my dinner. The owner, Caroline, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. This place only uses the highest quality ingredients, and it shows in the food that they produce. When we walked in we said hello and the gentleman at the entrance asked if we had a reservation and I asked if we needed one, mind you there were plenty of tables. Another person had come in after us, he was immediately seated, wasn't asked if he had a reservation, then the same guy that sat us (the waiter) went over after a moment and took his order. The waiter then put his electronic order taker down and was about to walk past us again and my boyfriend finally said something. My boyfriend was pretty upset because he felt we were being treated differently and being ignored. Maybe the guy was having a bad day or maybe he didn't like the way we looked because we weren't rude, we didn't do anything wrong, and tried to be patient but kept being ignored. After my boyfriend let the waiter know how rude it was that he kept walking past us, blatantly ignoring us, and acting as though we hadn't been sitting there waiting to be acknowledged, we walked out. Over the years I would stop by here when it was Denise's to get sweets, vegetables or any of the sauces they sold. I met the new owners and they seemed very nice. They let me know they were opening up a Mediterranean style restaurant where the BBQ restaurant was. This past Wednesday I pulled off the freeway to find that railroad ties were placed all along the side of the parking lot so big rigs could not enter. There were city signs stating no truck parking. Over the years truck drivers would stop and take a break or grab a snack before getting on the road.
