I always pick up some dhokla with my grocery run at India cash and carry. It is always annoying that 2 out of 3 times they would try to cheap out on the condiments (green chutney). Today was an awfully more annoying experience. I got 4 boxes of dhokla and the guy at the register gave me 2 chutneys with it. I told him that I bought 4 boxes and asked for more and he hesitantly gave me another one. I had to ask him for another one again and at this point another guy behind the register had to cinvince this guy that it is ok for him to give me 1 more. How hard can math be? 4 boxes= 4 condiments. If the restaurant or the grocery store manager is reading this- you might want to think whether this is worth losing a customer. read more

It sure if I will be going back there. I feel that this place is not very clean. Servers uses the same gloves to do money and food. This Little Gem is hidden in a grocery store (India cash and carry). Whenever I am in the area I have to come by to get my chaat fix!! It's sooo good! They primarily sell Chaats, but also a variety of fresh bread types (fresh roti, different stuffed parathas, naan, etc), snack items like samosa, aloo tikki, fried paneer and also curries. I usually come here for the samosa chaat, aloo tikki chaat or bhel puri. You can adjust the spice level and whether you want onions or not. For those who never had a chaat... it's essentially a carb like samosa that is then topped with chana masala (chickpea curry if you will, most chaats don't have have the chickpea tho), yogurt, tamarind chutney, cilantro chutney (spicy), onions, cilantro. They give you a decent portion which is pretty filling. But most times my eyes are bigger than my belly and I also add a paratha (Gobi=cauliflower, aloo=potato, the one with paneer cheese is also very good!) and maybe a curry like paneer curry or another veggie curry. Haha! I can't resist lol! Probably not the healthiest but hits the spot every single time. read more

I had ordered cocktail samosas for a party and paid the full amount in advance. When we went for pickup on the day of the party, the person initially asked us to wait for 15 mins and later said that the person who makes the Samosas hasn't come today. Later they said they would give us regular samosas 1/2 the quantity that we ordered. Also asked us to pay extra to cover for the price difference. I mean really? This place is being run by a bunch of illiterates who doesn't know how to treat/talk to customers.. I don't suggest going there unless you can speak/argue in their language. NO FACE MASKS! If I could give 0 stars, I would. The problems with this establishment, where to even start?! First of all the customer service is absolutely terrible. They are very rude to you and communicate through grunts. And worst of all, I could see some members of the kitchen staff not wearing face masks!! During a global pandemic I was horrified by these actions and felt very unsafe. In addition, the food was subpar. The vada I got was not fully cooked through and was cold in the middle! My daughter found a hair in the chana masala we got! This was the absolute worst food experience of my LIFE. When I called to complain, I was sent to voicemail multiple times. When I finally got through to them on the phone and let them know I was disappointed with the food they just said sorry and that they hope it will be better the next time I try their food. This is inside the India Cash & Carry. Recently found that its good place for snacks. They do have a wide range of snack items like Samosa, pakoras, kachori, Veggie puffs, chats, paav bhaji etc. They also do have veggie curries, Roti and chapatis. Paav Bhaji is the best among the snacks, but its available only during the weekend. They are too delicious to miss. Pakoras are great too. Veggie puffs are below average, found its very spicy. Their chapatis and rotis are really nice. Soft and tasty... want to go back to try out some chats now... overall a nice experience! read more

I gave this place another chance after few years! When you order more than few items, they reduce the size of the item. I ordered 8 aloo parathas of which 4 were for a friend. The paranthas were almost half the size of what you would otherwise get. At $3.99 each it was a total rip-off. Also the ladies do not keep their hair secure around the food buffet area, eeww , yuck!! To add to the pathetic customer service, I was asked to go to the chaat counter to get the chutney for my other order and the lady there was another clown who just couldn't part with the food! read more

Asked for green chilies with some food and they use to give them out for free, the guy said it was okay and asked this woman to put them in container and the lady was so stingy with them she first poured some in and took more than half of it out. I bought stuff for dinner tonight. But will never buy their Bhindi sabji. It is made with their leftover old bhindis and they charge like $7 almost like Paneer sabji. I used take out for curries. They taste good. However, I am not quite sure of the hygiene part. I requested the owner lady to wear gloves before filling the cup with curry. She says, it is okay and didn't wear gloves. Same with her father. He refuses to wear gloves. I was standing in the line and saw this old man putting his hands/fingers all over his body, then holds the cup with one finger inside as he fills it up.(there is a Hispanic assistant who obliges if you request her to wear gloves; but the owner lady and her father never do) So, I decided not to patronize this. read more

I buy food from here when we feel like not cooking at home. Cheap, decent taste, not too greasy. Gets the job done. Last year I ordered catering for my daughter's birthday party and the food was so good. So this year again, I ordered again. The food was horrible. Not a single guest enjoyed the food. Pretty much everything was leftover. Shahi paneer, aloo gobi, samosa. Terrible. No salt in aloo gobi. We had to mix salt ourselves. Shahi paneer was beyond terrible. You could tell they were extremely sloppy while preparing it. The paneer was cut randomly. No regular shape. Some were LARGE pieces, some were TINY, some were sliced, some were diced, some were even shredded. Not sure what they planned to do with it. It almost felt like they made a half tray and since my order was for a medium tray, they just added a bunch of water to make it fit the medium tray. It tasted like we were eating paneer dipped in water and the gravy tasted like water. I never had a bad experience ordering regular food from this place. The only thing that changed with my order from last year and this year was I ordered everything spicy last year and this year I wanted the order "medium" spicy. If their definition of medium spicy is adding a gallon water to dilute the gravy, then I am not ordering from here ever again. No catering, no regular orders too. I am done. DONE. What a terrible waste of time and money. Had to throw all the food away. I am so angry right now. They probably don't care if I go and complain as they have their established customer base and they meet a certain need. So they have no incentive to change or even acknowledge. read more
