Not happy with any business that tries to take advantage of this pandemic. I stood in line with others and after ordering they tell me how much. There is a big menu on the wall. The numbers didn't add up, so I mentioned it and they said that the prices went up and pointed to a yellow piece of paper, of which I did not read. I figured a 1/3rd increase. I just canceled and left. My beef is that the menu sign is right up there. Put a sign there or put tape on the numbers, something that keeps people from wasting time. I probably would have been OK with it if it wasn't hidden. Another place said that beef prices were going up so they doubled the price. I do not care what a business charges, it's there right as it is mine to not buy. read more

I'm sorry, I'm just not feeling the love. Service was quick, and prices are decent, but that's about all. They add an unlisted service charge if you use a debit/credit card - well it's posted on a small sheet that only the cashier has access-to (and he's more than happy to whip it out if you question the charge). We ordered 2 king burritos, an order of french fries, and an order of chips and salsa. The burritos were large, but mostly lettuce and sour cream - not a lot of meat. Furthermore, they fell-apart (the ends broke off). I'd be happy if this was because they were stuffed with meat, but that wasn't the case. Ate 2 chips, and handed them back - they were stale! Worse yet, the 'cook' just looked at me dumbfounded - so much for customer service. There's far better places to get an "authentic" meal - as much as I try to avoid chains, I'll even take a chain like Taco Bell or Chipotle over this any day read more

The queen California chicken Burrito (with peppers and onions) was super fresh and not one bit greasy like burritos can be. Only been here once, had a queen steak burrito. The burrito was good, but I wanted carnitas and they don't serve carnitas here. Disappointing when you have a craving. Worth another try when I'm not looking for carnitas. read more

A nice little spot to stop if you're in the area and want a quick meal. I wouldn't recommend this for a special evening out, but if you're driving by, it is definitely worth stopping. The prices are incredible. I had two fish tacos with beans plus a soda for less than $7. I didn't realize that was still possible anywhere. The fish tacos were very yummy. I like the sauce they use with them. The beans were just right as well. It took a while to get our order, but it's nice to know that everything is made fresh. I was surprised that there was still a crowd at 1:30pm, but I guess that just attests to how much people like this place. read more

A divey fast food Mexican place that has a kitchen open late on weekdays! I came here on a Monday night craving something yummy in my tummy. I ordered the nachos with steak and they were awesome in the cheap, terrible for you way. They even had the fake gooey cheese. This place is borderline amazing. The prices are absurdly low for the quality and service. I often stop by at night after work, and though you might expect that the food isn't it's freshest at 11:30 pm you'd be mistaken to assume that about this place. Just by reading the description I'd assume the burritos are not the way to go, and other reviewers seen to agree. However, the tortas are damn good and the value ($4.75) can't be beat. Tacos I have seen in the dining room look awesome as well. For those who claim they are small, those are authentic Mexican tacos and not super-sized American style. Green salsa is epic but has the potential to make you regret it the next day. The kids meal I ordered was a hefty portion for only $3.79, which included TWO tacos and fries. It would be nice to have rice and beans but my little guy loved it just as much. I always do carry out but make sure to drop a little dinero in the tip jar because the food is great, prepared to your liking and with respect for authenticity. Yeah, it looks dingy but believe me, when I go at night they are always scrubbing the place left and right. I won't say how I know for brevity's sake, but as a former manager, bartender, and current server with 7 years of experience, I can attest to the fact that this place is doing things right. I have mixed feelings about Raul's. Their food is great. But I don't like the way they run things at all. New location is nice, but the hours posted online are wrong. It says 9-11 every day. Went Sunday morning. Oops, not open until 10. No actual online menu. If I'm going to a restaurant I want to see their real menu online. Not yelp's, or door dash's, etc. those are poor substitutes for menus and they're always incomplete. And they've been several weeks in the new place and still no printed menu to take with you. All this makes it hard to do business with them no matter how good the food is. Seriously, who cares how good the food is if you show up when they're supposed to open just to find they open an hour later? read more

I ordered a king steak burrito dinner, and a side order of guacamole. They charged me for guacamole and chips. Albeit, it was still cheap, I made it a point that it was just guac without chips, but they still charged me for it. The guac was okay. The beans and rice with the burrito dinner were really good, but the burrito was actually the most disgusting burrito I've ever had. I'm pretty sure it was 80% expired meat, 20% lettuce tossed with mayonnaise. I almost threw up. I just took the hit because if a simple steak burrito was nasty, chances are that all the burritos are the same. Everyone else enjoyed their food, but whatever. Total mistake. read more

Wow. Not only really good authentic Mexican food, the price is great! My steak tacos were so good they reminded me of the ones I used to get in Mexico City. Really. Stopped in for an early lunch...only place open before 11:00. Had a chorizo taco with guacamole and the "queen" beef burrito. Every bite was delicious and all for $7. Fantastic hole-in-the-wall authentic Mexican place. My favs are the steak taco and the chicken tostadas. My wife and son are addicted to the Jarritos (Mexican sodas) as well. Tiny building and parking lot near downtown Wauconda. You'd miss it if you weren't looking for it, but it's worth it. Since moving to the area, it's become one of our favorite haunts. That really hit the spot! I had 3 tacos for just under $6. If this place was close to home I would go there all the time. And they're open later than the other place down the street! This is my favorite place for burritos and second favorite place for taco's. You can BYOB to the outdoor area, or there's a liquor store right next door. Mosquitoes suck, but, it's a nice little restaurant, cheap food, very very very tasty. Staff is friendly and always gets the orders right. They use real corn tortilla's like a proper taqueria for their tacos. Every different meat I've had has been fantastic. Their guacamole is to die for. The only complaint is that it's a pain to make a left out of their location onto 176, but, that's simply due to it's vicinity to the intersection. read more
