Out of the three parks, Hidden Palms focuses more on the immediate area, to the degree of having zero restrooms. The closest ones are at Duck Creek Park to the east and Von's to the north. The lack of restrooms is a nice way of saying that this is a neighborhood park, where local residents are a short drive or walk away from their own restrooms. To further support this point, the small parking lot only provides thirteen parking spaces with an additional two for handicapped park users. Throughout the years, I had driven by Hidden Palms Park several times. However, it was just recently I had stepped foot in it. When I visited, there were a few people. They were mostly by the softball field. The highlight was walking along the approximately half-mile walking path, which took me 5.37 miles to complete. I will describe my walk in conjunction with the park amenities. Starting from the parking lot and the adjacent playground as the starting point, I walked clockwise. Starting off, the walking path led me south, then west around the pickleball courts and softball field #1 before paralleling Pebble Road to the south. Walking further along the sinuous white paved walking path as it gradually shifted north, open green space with mature pine trees bordered it. To the left was the subdivision border wall. To my eyes, the open grass needed some tlc. Instead of a colorful golf course green they were close to a yellow palette. Continuing north, I took in softball field #2. As the walking path shifted away from the subdivision border wall, the open grass returned. As the path curved east, there was a fitness equipment station. Fronting the open space towards the John R. Beatty Elementary School north border wall was a sand volleyball court. At the sharp curve returning me south towards the parking lot, were the tennis courts. Approaching the end of the approximately 0.5 mile walk were the picnic tables and playground. On my Diminutive Outdoors visit here, I simply walked around. This included a short stroll to the north border wall in the shadow of the park landmark: a towerering cellphone tower that resembles a pine tree. Here, I found my favorite spot in the park: a shaded bench overlooking the expanse of the park to the south. I am aware that Hidden Palms is more of a neighborhood park than it is a local or regional park. However, that does not stop me from having the opinion that it would give an improved park experience if it was connected to Duck Creek and Desert Bloom Park by means of a multi use trail. I understand that it would involve the controversy of giving Pebble Road a protected pedestrian bike lane, furnishing Pollock Drive with a road diet (narrowing it from four to two sections) between Pebble and Wigwam, and reimagining Wigwam Avenue into a more pedestrian bicycle friendly corridor between Pallock and Desert Bloom Park. From evaluating Hidden Palms Park, I am of the impression that this would give Paradise Palms a trail system that Hidden Palms Park would anchor. Additionally it would connect park users from outside the neighborhood with a public restroom. In conclusion, I give Hidden Palms Park "3 Stars." Considering that local parks are inflation proof, it costed me zero cents to explore it. With that said, I will most likely return to the nicer nearby Duck Creek Park and Desert Bloom Parks before returning to Hidden Palms Park.

I take my dog for a walk/run as it is usually empty after school hours. There are joggers as well. A fenced soccer field which has nice grass all the time, a tennis court, and a baseball field with seating. There are lighting posts here and there but not sure how late they are turned on. Pet waste bags next to the entrance of the soccer field. The bathroom is maintained average. A water fountain in front of the restroom works fine but the one near the baseball field is out of order.

Desert Symphony Park is the newest City of Henderson Park that opened on November 19, 2025. It is a…read morefifty acre park gracing the Cadence Master Planned Community. It is a neighborhood park that features open grass, a sheltered playground, picnic tables, basketball courts, and a skate park. In the local news I have read about the City of Henderson addressing the perceived water shortage by taking out grass and cutting down trees in sections of their parks. On paper it looks good. In real life it doesn't. In my opinion, the City went to an extreme with desert landscaping to the degree of their newest park virtually having no landscaping. Just look at the proceeding photos. I can see if the City is going to go away from the beautiful golf course green grass and towering trees that have made their parks the exemplary city park system, to make the statement that they are saving water. However, there needs to be lush xeriscaping where picturesque desert trees such as desert willows, acacias, mesquite, and palo verdes adorn the landscape with colorful desert plants and decorative rocks. Especially when the topography is flat. Another alternative is that the landscaping can combine xeriscaping with decorative grass and towering non native trees. Henderson Parks that come to mind include Dundee Jones, Sonata Park, and the nearby Desert Pulse. From my perspective it looks like a desert parcel with the standard Henderson Park fixtures excluding the skate park and murals. Further into the park, the open grass lacked the visual candy of golf course green grass or astro turf. Spending time here on March 17, I felt the heat Island effect. I could only imagine in the summer what it is going to be like here. As far as conserving water, sacrificing the majority of a fifty acre park is a small one when you take into consideration that there are hundreds of homes and several construction sites using water within a short walking distance of Desert Symphony Park. It is a small sacrifice for the betterment of the park users mental health which I feel that parks are designed for. Another quibble I have with Desert Symphony Park is that the Cadence Master Plan shows the park as a rectangular parcel connecting Cadence View Way with Black Palace Street. On my visit I saw construction at Black Palace Street and Scarhill Track Avenue which the master plan shows as open space. I believe that a preschool is going up there. Now, what appears to be going down is the view of the Red Rock Escarpment with Mount Charleston over the Las Vegas Strip that the completion of this construction could block. In conclusion I think that Desert Symphony Park is a solid park. I found the park and surrounding community to be clean and safe. In comparison I have a much more favorable opinion of the nearby Central Park and Desert Pulse Park. To close off the review, I can see myself returning here when I hike around Cadence. There is a possibility of updating my review proceeding the one year anniversary of Desert Symphony Park.

There are paved walking paths throughout the grassy open park and benches under tall shaded trees making for a perfect lunch spot. There was a fair amount of open space for my fur baby to run and have a potty break and they have doggie stations with bags and a trash for you to clean up after your pet. There are a couple of picnic tables with a bbq grill near them as well trash cans. The park is named after Frank Crowe, who had a large part in the building of Hoover Dam and there are some statues and markers around the park that mention him. Every year around the beginning of December there is this Annual Tree lighting Ceremony at the park and once the tree is lit everyone cheers and celebrates while drinking hot chocolate and singing Christmas carols. That's just how the town of BC rolls and I like it.

Bobtail Circle Park is a representation of the gorgeous Green Valley Ranch Trail system. When I have partook in my urban Green Valley Ranch hikes, eleven times I have passed through Bobtail Circle Park. It is located along the Amargosa Mile Marker Seven SpurTrail, which is a walking path that connects Amargosa Trail to Strawberry Hill Park and to Dos Esceules Park via Golden View Street. Bobtail Circle Park is a neighborhood park that is designed to serve the immediate neighborhood. The ramifications are that in similar fashion to Strawberry Hill Park down the spur trail, there are no restrooms. On account of zero parking spaces, motorists access this park by parking on the side of Bobtail Circle. The nearest parking lot is at Dos Esceules Park. For me, Bobtail Circle Park also serves as a component of the miles of Green Valley Ranch Walking trails. Just like the miles of connecting walking paths and parks, it is gorgeous. When I walk along the diminutive park, my eyes follow the landscaped wash to the east that I follow along the Amargosa Mile Marker Seven Spur Trail. Throughout the tiny park there is a canopy of mature trees that provide sufficient shade. This provides for a shaded spot to have a picnic at the picnic tables. At the northwest corner there is an open grass area. The focal points of the park are the playground and gazebo housing a picnic table and barbecue grill. It is managed by the Green Valley Ranch Community instead of Henderson. I am unsure if people outside the community are allowed to use the facilities. I would like to point out that although I have been to Bobtail Circle Park eleven times, I never checked in there because it was too close to my eleven Strawberry Hill Park Check-ins. I would also like to point out that I give Bobtail Circle Park four stars. I see it as a representation of the gorgeous Green Valley Ranch Walking Trail System.

The play structures themselves are quite nice and include a wide variety of features including climbing walls and nets, tunnels, and plenty of slides. There are a good number of trash cans scattered about and various seating options including benches and picnic tables. Aside from the play structures, Amador Vista also has plenty of paved walking areas for running and strolling around, a basketball court, and a good amount of grassy area. It also has a splash pad which we haven't tried out yet since it is January now and too cold for that. But we look forward to trying it out once it warms up again. Some other things to note is that the parking lot for this park is spacious and clean with plenty of spots. The parking lot and restrooms are easily accessible and handicap-friendly. If you care about recycling, Amador Vista is one of the few parks I've seen that has a separate recycling can in addition to trash cans. The only reason I gave this park 4 instead of 5 stars is because it could use a bit more care and maintenance. For example, the tarp covering the large play structure has two big rips in it and the welcome sign looks really rough with the entire top part peeling off. Hopefully they'll be able to fix things like that and help keep the park staying nice!

It would have been a 5-star review for us if the grass area would have been fully enclosed as the wind was blowing their ball into the parking lot. Looks like a great family place for strollers, kids on little bikes, there was a shaded climbing area, etc.
