Meh...I've visited my fair share of parks and I can say it's definitely not one of my favorites. Let me start with the positives. There are a lot of amenities; baseball field, basketball court, tennis court and of course the playground. There's lots to do on the jungle gym. It's challenging enough and there are multiple slides so kids aren't waiting. What I don't love is how close the playground is to all the traffic on Pecos. Yes there is a fence, but it's still pretty close. There's lots of traffic noise and I would hate for an accident to happen and for kids to have to witness it. There were lots of kids the day we visited. It was around 3-ish and there is an elementary school nearby, so lots of little friends for my own kids to play with. All in all, I'd prefer to just drive a little further to go to a different park. read more

Beautiful expansive park with many areas for different activities. Lots of dog and their owners here. There is a toilet and water fountain. The children's playground has a tarp cover. So considerate. Best thing is the level paved trail that passes on the side. After Xmas, it's a tree recycling spot in the parking lot. read more

Legacy West Park, also known as Pecos Legacy Park serves the people as both a local City of Henderson Park and regional park as one of the gateways to the Pittman Wash Trail. In this review I will talk about Legacy West Park as 1. City of Henderson local park and 2. Gateway to the Pittman Wash Trail. 1. City of Henderson local park.     This is a moderate size picturesque park at the southeast corner of Pecos Road and the Pittman Wash Trail. The park features well manicured open green grass, two softball fields, sand volleyball, a playground, picnic tables, basketball court, mature pine trees providing sufficient shade, and hours of recreation with the bordering Pittman Wash Trail.   This is a local park that I have been to several times. I have seen it when it is busy and when it is quiet. I have always arrived here by foot. I notice that the parking situation changes drastically. During busy times it is common to see parked cars overflowing alongside Pecos Road. On the contrary during quiet times there are a plentitude of spaces. From my experiences the most popular activity bringing in the people are the two softball fields. Here I will pass by baseball games from Little League to adults enjoying America's favorite past time.     On the contrary when the park is quiet such as on a weekday morning, it is an excellent place for a picnic. Recently I have had an Arby's and Subway picnic here. It is contiguous to the Pecos Road Strip that offers establishments such as Arby's, Burger King, Dairy Queen, Del Taco, Subway, Taco Bell, and Weinersnitzel. During these quiet times, the picnic experience takes place under the mature pine tree canopy while breathing in the aroma of pine trees and grass and listening to chirping birds and the sounds of Henderson Park employees mowing the grass with the occasional dog barking.    This park is very well kept. With the exception of the expected markings on picnic tables, it is relatively graffiti free. The TLC that the Henderson Park staff are giving the grass and trees are keeping them healthy. The healthy grass and trees contribute to the attractive landscaping. My favorite spot is the man made arroyo dripping down from a grassy incline at the parks southeast corner. Fronting this shady spot is my favorite bench in the park. This bench is a prime spot in the city to destress from the stressful world. 2. Gateway to the Pittman Wash Trail.      When I walk on my neighborhood sidewalks with the Pittman Wash to Pecos Road, I often pass through here. This is a gateway to the regional Pittman Wash Trail. This is a paved and lighted multi use trail that bridges Pebble Park in the vicinity of Eastern at Pebble and I-215 from the southwest to the Arroyo Grande Sports Complex and Cornerstone Park at the east. This is a scenic trail that parallels the Pittman Wash through Green Valley. However, this is going to become a Gateway to the Hoover Dam and Arizona State Line. As I write this the City of Henderson is working vigorously on the Union Pacific Railroad Trail extension. Once it is done, it will connect to the eastern end of the Pittman Wash Trail and connect to the River Mountains Loop Trail by Railroad Pass. From that point the River Mountains Loop Trail travels beside the River Mountains in Boulder City where it links up with the Historic Railroad Tunnel Trail in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. This popular trail leads to the Hoover Dam and ultimately into the State of Arizona. As an outdoor lover I think it is so awesome that you can park here and bicycle all the way to the River Mountains and ultimately to the Hoover Dam. 3. Conclusion. From my experiences here enjoying picnics and just passing through on my walks along the Pittman Wash Trail and visualizing its future  connectivity to a regional trail system that will ultimately bridge Green Valley to the Hoover Dam, I appreciate Legacy West Park also known as Pecos Legacy Park. It is an appreciation that shows in my four star rating. read more

I really like this park. It is adjacent to the Pittman Wash that has about 4 miles of trail. So you can park at this place, go for a run down the trail and come back and relax at this park. This park is very well manicured, the grass is lush and green and there is a lot to do. There is two baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball hoops and sandy volleyball pits. I wish the water fountains worked :/ that's the only thing I hope for this little gem. read more

Legacy West Park is a great park hidden along North Pecos. A first glance, it appears to be a small neighborhood park tucked in between strip malls and neighborhood subdivisions, but walk around it a little and you'll realize that Legacy West does a lot with the space it sits on. The park has a nice open grassy area with picnic tables and trees, as well as a softball field, baseball field and tennis courts. It's a great neighborhood park for folks near Pecos and the 215. On warm spring and fall days, it's a fun place to take the family. And If you're a runner or cyclist, there's a great bike path / paved running path that runs right along the park for miles in either direction. You've got to hand it to the Henderson city planners, they did set aside a fair amount of desert for parks and exercise space. read more

I like this park because it's close to me but that's about all I like. The parking is ample unless there is a game going on and then it's just way to small. The playground area isn't that nice and I rather drive several miles down the road and use a different park. The restrooms are disgusting as most park restrooms are. My biggest issue is that people bring their dogs to the park so much that the grass smells like pee. The only positive is that the grass is green. read more

Henderson area park with a lot of green space, not far from GVR area- the Pittman Wash Trail, a baseball diamond, sand volleyball pits, tennis courts, and a small playground are among the amenities here. Parking lot is small, but it is safe to park on the street if needed- on weekends, this park gets busy early. I like how there are a few local food trucks that seem to regularly stop by on weekends. The bathrooms are clean, but only have two stalls. read more

Another awesome park in the Green Valley North area! Huge grassy areas, baseball fields that are always hosting kids' tournaments, sand vball (never seen it in use), a medium-sized playground, and tennis courts (which are busy when it's nice out). Overall, the place is never packed, and the pavilions with grills are a nice area for hosting events. It's adjacent to the Pittman Wash trail, so Legacy West is a nice spot to stop off for a break on your walk/run/bike ride. Bonus points for being in riding distance from my house! read more

Spent a great evening here playing volleyball with old and new friends. The atmosphere is very inviting. There's a place for softball, volleyball, running, kids, a nice place to take your dog on a walk and I even saw some people doing yoga. Went spent most of out time in the volleyball pits. There was another game going on at the same time, but there was enough space to let us all have a good time. This place is the perfect way to spend an evening at the park. read more

My favorite park-- though that's probably because it's right in my backyard. When you're driving past it on Pecos, Legacy Park looks pretty small but it's actually a decent-sized park with great amenities. Playground, basketball court, volleyball areas, softball diamonds, & (what I go for) lots of green grass that I use for yoga and the beautiful Pittman Wash trail for biking and running that goes on for miles runs alongside the north side of the park. Also a big plus: bathrooms are always clean and stocked with soap, which is a rarity in my experience with public recreation areas! read more

This park is close to my house and has a walking trail that runs by it which is what we use to walk to this location. It's always clean, even the bathrooms. It's usually pretty quiet here during the week which is nice and the weekends can get a little busy but that's usually the best time for us to go so my girls can make instant "best friends" with all the kids. The playground is very nice, has plenty of slides and rock climbing features and is CLEAN. They have volleyball, tennis and basketball courts, two baseball fields and plenty of benches and grass to run around in. There are several water fountains and if you happen to bring your dog they even have a fountain for your fur babies. Overall, it's a cute local park that's well kept and enjoyable. read more
