How does the saying go? Fool me once? Fool me twice? That's how this story goes. I decided that my previous incident with Rent A Wheel was an isolated experience and wanted to give them another chance since the three previous accounts I had went well. I realize that was due to the sales staff at that time. I came into the Inglewood location and opened a account for two Nexen tires on 12/8. I went through all the paperwork and was asked when I wanted my due date. Ricky and I agreed on the 18th of each month. I still have the text message confirming that. I was then told if I left a positive review, I would receive a couple items as a gift (which I noticed was already written up on the contract I signed). Plus, I received the same detailing products and car jumper kit when I opened my previous accounts. That felt like click bait to get a positive review. Nonetheless, I wrote it because Ricky was good and answered every question. I've since taken it down due to me believing I was misinformed/lied to. I received a call on the 15th that my account became due, and I needed to pay. ON THE DUE DATE, Daniel will call back-to-back at least six times a day. That is harassment and is violating 15 USCA 1692 c of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They don't give you time to submit the payment. I explained to Daniel that before I signed my contract, the due date would be the 18th. He rudely replied that I get paid on the 15th so that's the day I pay. I then asked why was the payment due so soon? I just took possession a week prior. His response was I put a low amount down so that's what made it due sooner. NONE of that was explained when signing the contract. I have purchased homes, cars, etc. and the payment was never due a week later. That makes me feel the 4 months same as cash was bogus. After my interaction with Daniel, no one was able to help me understand what was going on or own up to what was explained to me. After my interaction with Daniel and the staff at Rent a Wheel Manchester, I reached out to the District Manager. He was just as rude as the staff at the location. I see why the staff at the store are a bunch of bullies; there's no order at the top of the chain. Prior to all this happening, Daniel is the guy who pre-approved me. He told me I couldn't RTO two tires and I would have to add extra stuff. Yet Ricky was able to RTO two tires no problem. When I bought that up to Evelyn, she threw it in my face that they did me a favor. That should have been discussed when the contract was signed, not when you need it as ammunition. So, my trust is already out the window once again with RAW. It's a sleazy way to do business. I was bringing my other BMW in this week to get 4 tires however I'll just go to Pep Boys because most people won't speak up for themselves. They just take what's said for gospel and move on. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. There's plenty of other options out there where you will be treated with respect and get a fair deal. I previously stopped dealing with RAW because I was called a N-word. You can see that in my review of the Hyde Park Location. You definitely feel that same bias in the store. RAW needs to educate their employees on proper customer service and how to treat ALL races with the same respect, instead of harassing customers with multiple phone calls daily and unethical business tactics. read more

They will let you drive off the lot with a big tire knowing it's going to scrub. I would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO HERE. I promise you your better off buying them offline. LONG STORY SHORT: Just go to Costco. Long story: Should've trusted my gut in the beginning; I sensed that it was sketchy. It is. I got a bad vibe from the guy signing us up too. He grinned & kind of laughed here and there as if he knew he was screwing us over. Sounds weird, I know but that's what I sensed. Current issue: They have consistently charged my boyfriends account double the amount they are suppose to for 3-4 months. Every time he calls back to take care the issue, the person who made the charge is ALWAYS "on lunch." The excuse is always "there's something up with our system/there's a glitch." The new excuse this month was "the guy who charged your account is a new hire." I'm sure they're just trying to buy themselves some time to get their BS stories set up. We always have to call back again. They've caused my boyfriends bank account to overdraft. They don't help covering or refunding the overdraft fee. Past issues: The tire went flat within the first 2 weeks. It was seriously a bunch of chaos to get it fixed. There was an extra charge here & there and have to pay this and that. We were caught off-guard because they left us under the impression that we had every type of coverage and any type of roadside assistance & fixing was covered. We were horribly mistaken. The tire sensor light turns on, we go in ask about it "maybe your car isn't reading it right. Drive it around some more and if it doesn't go off, come back." Um, no. If the light is on, clearly something is up, because it shouldn't being lighting up in the first place. We just agreed to do what the mechanic said and left. Light stays on all the time. We haven't gone to get it looked at again because we have been really busy lately. Only a small portion of what you pay per payment goes towards paying off your tires & rims, the rest is just taxes and fees. (This is the catch that they claim they don't have.) Here's a bit of an exaggerated example, Say your bill is $200, only $85 is actually going towards your tires. We found this out the hard way. Because we thought we were a lot further along with paying off the tires and rims, but we weren't and it was finally explained to is where our money goes. They're just a headache. Update to my first and second reviews. Was told by the DM Sai on Monday that he will call back Tuesday. Waited until the late afternoon without a response so I called which went to voice mail and left a message. I also left him an email asking if he was going to call back as he had promised. No call back! He did end up replying to my email that night stating he would call me back Wednesday at the latest. So......Wednesday comes and I wait, and wait, and wait. No call! I left another message with his voice mail service because he didn't answer. No return call. So I decided to call him one last time before leaving work. He actually picked up.....he then stated that he was waiting from a call from the audit person and he would call me today (Thursday). Guess what........no fucking call back! I did call him once today at 4 and left yet another message with him. So I called back the corporate office and spoke with Matt who had actually been very helpful with as much as he can do. He escalated the situation above Sai to Sai's boss, the Regional Manager. Awaiting a call back from him. I can't believe how poor their managers have handled the situation this far and the lack of following through with what they say they'll do. The company I work for would NEVER treat customers like this.....EVER! Return customers and word of mouth is primarily what makes businesses thrive and grow. I don't know how much growing this company will do at the rate they're going. I have referred friends and family here because of the 90 plan they offer and the decent pricing they have, but I will never recommend them ever again. Before this happened I was going to get tires on my girls suv and new rims/tires on my 68 Mustang. I'll go somewhere else from now on. I'll give you all another update when I talk to the regional manager........... Well......after the shit hit the fan I got a call back from Sai. I got a flat tire and needed a new one. Just a tire, just one, not to rent. I just wanted to pay money for a tire and get it put on. Rent a wheel has great prices, actually, and they're open late compared to other places, so I could go after work. I called and got the quote from Mary. I then called back for her and was told she would call me back. I'm assuming she was busy, but almost the full day passed before I called back and asked for her. I did get asked several times if I knew how the "program" works, so I had to keep insisting that I just wanted to pay for the tire in full and have it put on my car ASAP. I had to go in person to drop off the "deposit" (the entire amount, since I wanted to just pay for it). They wouldn't take a card over the phone. Inconvenient, but not the end of the world. When I got there, nobody was in the shop. A man tried to help me but seemed confused about my wanting to just pay for it. Finally, Mary came in and helped me out. She's really sweet and we got it done quickly. Mary told me they'd have to order the tire for me, though all the other shops in the area had it in stock. Ok, no biggie- it would arrive in the next two days and they'd call me. I told her I needed it done before the following week so I could go to a meeting that was pretty far. The two days came and went. No calls. Another day came and went (a Sunday, they were closed). I called Monday, and was told I'd get a call back. The entire business day passed on Monday, and I made an appointment with another place (who had it in stock). I'd planned to stop by Rent a Wheel and get a refund. I actually finally got a call back from Mary letting me know that she'd like to give me a refund (yay for not having to fight for it) since she didn't know what was happening with the tire. Of course, I had to get it done in person too.... sigh. I showed up for the refund, and the place was deserted again. Really, they should have a bell or something. Mary processed the refund quickly and easily. Honestly, the complete disorganization of this whole thing would have given it a 1 star review, but Mary's friendliness and the ease of refund brings it to 2. read more

He has a really nasty attitude just because I was asking him for nothing more than to do his job. If you ever come here do not give him a sale. He would slam phones, roll his eyes give you a smartass response when you asked a question. It's unacceptable. If he doesn't like what he does he should go and apply at McDonald's. I was in the market for some wheels. I looked at a few spots and ended up here. Saw some i liked and went ahead and ordered some Niche brand wheels. They quoted me about $2600 with tires ( keep in mind the tires they wanna slap on are cheap brand tires like nexen or lion hart ) so after asking what kind of tires for the price i said nevermind just give me the wheels. Now before hand i had already looked on their website the wheels i wanted and what they were priced at. They quoted me about $150 or so over what was advertised online. After double checking they priced them at was the online price. So then the price goes up to$1760 or so with tire sensors so im telling daniel i dont need them and he is insisting i do smh lol so i call my tire guy to double check if i need them since my car comes equipped with tpm sensors. I go back inside i tell him i dont need sensors. Finally puts in the order for the wheels total price around $1660 ehh not bad. I ordered them in a satin black color. Few days later they come in ( my mistake for not opening them all and checking they werent damaged or anything smh ) and i pick them up and when i get home i open one and notice its more of a matte black type of finish. The satin black finish they pointed me to in store was nothing to the color of the wheels i just picked up smh whatever i didnt mind the error on their part. So im getting the wheels mounted with my tire guy and he calls me over to point out one of my wheels are scuffed up smfh i call the shop and i believe i speak to daniel again and as i am explaining to him the situation he kinda sounds disinterested in what i am explaining to him. Rather then to take the ONE WHEEL back so they can send it back to the manufacturer for a new one , i go ahead with installing my wheels. I'll go ahead and repair the wheel myself instead of dealing with them. Prior to even ordering anything from them i read the yelp reviews and actually know of some people who dealt with them personally. There is a reason i didnt purchase tires from them when i ordered my rims and especially going on the payment plan with them cus they excessively call you regarding payment and i speak from experience cus i have purchased tires from them before at a different location and even though i was scheduled on a payment plan and they had my debit card info they would constantly call over the payment so this recent time around i wasnt going to deal with any payment plan regardless of the price of the wheels. Its more of bite the bullet now so you dont deal with them harassing and calling you all the time nope no thank you. As far as customer service goes , nothing really special stands out on their end. I couldnt even get lug nuts for my wheels cus according to them they only provide them if i had purchased tires and when i asled can I purchase a set , they didnt have any in black smh long story short i wouldnt send anyone i know personally to this shop. Low key i regret buying anything from them but at this point its like ehh whats done is done. Honestly, shop around and be patient. For whatever wheels and or tires you want i am more then sure other places have them better priced then what these guys have them at. My mistake was rushing and not looking like i should have.
