However, this place was great for me. I asked what was smoked that day and was told brisket is fresh every day and pulled chicken and ribs had just come off, so that's what I ordered. Let's break this down! The brisket was juicy with a nice dry dark bark crust. The meat was incredibly tender, breaking apart on my fork. A little fatty that didn't render but that's part of brisket. The rub really set off the flavor of the meat and I did not add any sauce to it, it simply wasn't needed. The chicken was my favorite meat. Served with no sauce, it was evident it was sitting in its own juices and that kept it moist. With chicken being so easy to dry out, this was great. The meat had great flavor and was oh so tender and juicy. I did try out some of their sauces with this and decided the smoky bbq spoke to me. My only negative of this joint came from the ribs. As I take my first bite, I have to pull something tough and get slapped in the chin by it. Say it isn't so! You leave the membrane on? Why oh why would you do that, nobody wants to eat membrane! Such a disappointment as the ribs were cooked well and the meat was tasty, although definitely the driest of the three I tried. For sides I had the street corn and the potato salad. I loved the salad, tons of flavor. The street corn was a miss for me as I did like the corn itself but when I'd grab a feta crumble in with it I did not enjoy the combination. The waitress brought me some greens to try as she could tell I didn't dig the corn and I ended up loving them. When you can pack that much flavor into greens it's a winner in my book. Speaking of the waitress, she's the reason this is five star for me. I was going with four star because of the membrane on the ribs however she is great and deserves a shout out. So kind from the moment I walked in, checking on me, making sure I enjoyed everything, and wanting to make it right if I didn't. She seemed to care so much about the business I thought she was an owner, turns out she's just proud of the place that she works at. Kudos miss, I'm sorry I didn't catch your name but you said you were the only server so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out who I'm talking about. The service despite how busy they were was very attentive. My friend ordered a corned beef and sauerkraut grilled sandwich with a crab soup and I got a duck burger with fries. The burger tasted like grounded up duck meat and breading. It had some kind of Asian flavored slaw that had way too much salt so I removed it and enjoyed the burger with just the lettuce. The fries has texture and flavor of re-refried fries. My friend said her soup was good but she would not get it there again. It was too watery for her liking. Her grilled sandwich was very good. Meal was wholesome, tasty and seemed healthy, it was the Plain & Fancy type food (supposedly); don't remember how compared to the Real Plain& Fancy of 1974. Shoe-fly pie was tasty. Service meet expectations. Everyone very polite. BBQ bar section of complex, which I was in, was empty, so only a couple tables to serve. BOTTOM LINE: The old Plain & Fancy communal eating place disappeared after 2017. A faux Plain & Fancy section replaced it. Whole area, including town of Intercourse, Pennsylvania is a big tourist trap. Amish are gone, Mennonites remain. There is even a concierge there to answer any questions about services or restaurants, perhaps because the building once housed the Lancaster Visitors Center. A charming place with international cuisine, including Indian, Greek, Jamaican, Asian, and Moroccan, to name a few. The food hall is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Lancaster has plenty of affordable parking in the Hager lot or several parking garages. I find using a parking App helpful.

The vibe overall is relaxed and family-friendly I tried an empanada from Mekatos, a Colombian-Laotian spot, filled with brisket and potato! It was fantastic. As Colombian-style empanadas, they're also naturally gluten-free. I highly recommend. The service was friendly and quick.

We arrived past check in time but he remained available and greeted us - offering us anything we needed. Exhausted after an 8hr drive, the hospitality, extremely clean and quiet atmosphere allowed is to sleep like babies. Unfortunately we were spent both days so we didn't get up in time to experience the breakfast but waking up every morning to bacon and eggs wafting through up through our room felt like home. I'm grateful for the option to pick a room with a private bathroom for a small upgrade. There's even onsite parking. I would absolutely stay here again & recommend to anyone!

The staff are very helpful and friendly. Room was quiet. The environment was wonderful- so many kids and the pools were fun. The bad: the room felt damp. They say they're a cashless facility but the laundry requires cash (and the machine ate my quarters)- they need to update this to use your room key and charge it to your room. The indoor pool area is extremely slippery and at times the indoor pool felt unsafely crowded. While it's nice you can walk to Dutch wonderland, it would be even nicer if they had a shuttle or offered discounted parking... definitely not accessible for everyone. Housekeeping never came to our room and we were there for 4 days. The ugly: this was by far the worst breakfast buffet I have ever experienced. We waited at least 15 mins to be seated, EVERY table was extremely dirty (dirty plates, cups, etc) aside from the 5 that were currently occupied. The buffet was missing food and it took kind of a long time to fill it which sucked after waiting so long at the front. $42 for that was a bit much. The year prior we stayed at bird in hand family inn- I preferred that MUCH better.
