What can I say about Ray & Dot's? It's a Milwaukee staple. It is where you should be. So go there. Your Grandpa would be proud.

Horrible service and they don't put any alcohol in the drinks. Huge stigma here.

Only thing to be aware of is the afternoon sun can make this patio in the mall parking lot a bit hot. I had the Sweet Thai Chili Salmon Bowl. The combination of sweet and spicy really made this a tasty dish. Only downside was the amount of salmon. If it was 3oz that was a lot. If I had been starving I would have been disappointed in the portion size. Anyway, good food and good location means I'll be back for sure.

We were there on a Saturday night and while we weren't the only people there it was far from busy. The service was friendly and attentive. The dining room is casual with a view of the beer tanks. Basically what you would expect at a craft brewery. The menu had the basics - appetizers, soups, salads, burgers and sandwiches. They also make pizza and calzones and some other main course dishes like fish and chips. We ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer. My husband ordered a sandwich and I ordered the boneless wings. For drinks my husband ordered a ginger beer and I ordered Diet Coke. The check before tip was $62. Normally I'd be okay with that but I thought it was a lot given the quality of the food. The cheese curds and boneless chicken wings seemed like items from a restaurant supply place that they fried up. Unfortunately next time we are in the area we'll go somewhere else. A fast food restaurant would have given us the same quality food for a fraction of the price.

I was saddened that the beans and rice had zero flavor and my stuffed poblanos were more cheese than anything. And I like cheese, but it was just too much for that dish. Overall, I had to put hot sauce on everything just to finish it. We had great service immediately after being seated, but after receiving our food we were not checked on again until flagging the waitress for our bill. No refills on drinks, no "how's the food". The restaurant wasn't even busy, with only two other tables of guests besides ours. The most offensive thing of all was a line item on the bill for non-cash fee. This was not disclosed of time, and legally in Wisconsin an added credit card charge needs to be posted at the entrance and point of sale, and not to exceed 3% of the bill. Our non-cash fee was nearly 4% of the total bill after taxes. That's not cool at all. I won't be coming back, and wouldn't recommend dining here to my friends. Maybe their food truck has better offerings? I've always heard good reviews about Romero's so this was such a letdown.

Don't let the white jackets on the servers fool you, they are relaxed and personable. It's a supper club. They may not have the most extensive menu, but I don't know of anyone who has ever had a issue with what they ordered. Normally, I'm the person who goes out to try something different. JG's is an exception that this rule. I love lamb, especially lamb chops when they are prepared properly. I have always been satisfied with the lamb chops. Simply the best. Tonight we came with another couple, who were celebrating a birthday. They are members of JGs loyalty club. At our table, they had left a handwritten card with birthday greeting. They were also entitled to a discount. We have had this server before, and have always impressed with the professionalism, and helpfulness. After ordering a round of drinks, with a couple of excellent old fashioned, we were ready to place our food order. Of course I got the Lamb Chops, and the others ordered, Chicken Piccata, Steak Diane, and Bacon Wrapped Scallops. While we waited, there was bread and small tray of crackers and spreads (I do wish they served an actual relish tray). Didn't take that long for the food. It was all hot, flavorful and good portions. My Lamb Chops were a perfect medium rare. The sides were also sufficiently hot, which was an improvement over our last visit. All the other entrees were excellent. And everyone had some leftovers to take home. For dessert the birthday boy got a free Schaum Torte. We added to that with a Brandy Alexander, which was hand mixed and not overblended. And a Creme Brulee, freshly torted so that caramel with dry and brittle, not soft and tacky. A great way to end a superb meal. Definitely a place that we look forward to returning too!

It was very good, and the marinara it was served with added that extra little zing. For my meal, I got the Sampler, which is walleye, perch, and cod.It comes with tartar sauce, cole slaw, rye bread, and your choice of potatoes. I chose fries. I don't eat cole slaw, but the rest of the plate was delicious and very filling. The fishes were all breaded with the perfect amount and fried to a perfect golden brown. I, personally, would have preferred a bit more creamier tartar sauce, but it was good. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just like they should be. Hubs got the walleye plate with potato pancakes, but said that the fries were better. On our second visit, we went on a Saturday night. Hubs wanted the prime rib. I chose the Jaeger Schnitzel and had a Mary Pickford as my cocktail. Hubs said the cocktail was perfect, but I thought it was too heavy on the rum. It's made with Bacardi, not my favorite, and I thought I would taste more pineapple. The meal starts off with your choice of soup or salad, and we both chose the soup. It was tomato soup with chicken and rice tonight, but it does change daily. I'm not a fan of tomato soup, but this was delicious! The chiken and rice were both thoroughly cooked to a nice level of softness. The Jaeger Schnitzel (pork) was pounded thin and evenly breaded with a nice coating that formed a uniform crust. It was topped with a mushroom gravy, which I wish there had been just a little bit more of. Overall, it was very nice. The plate comes with a healthy side of red cabbage and spaetzle. Both were good, but Melanie L. nailed it....I couldn't place the herbal taste of the cabbage until my husband referred me to her review. It was definitely cloves. I didn't think it was heavy handed, but just enough that you could definitely taste it. As for the spaetzle, it could have used a little bit of salt. I let it soak up some of the juice from the cabbage to compensate, and that worked fine. When you order dinner, you get a small relish tray and a basket of rolls and breadsticks. I didn't eat much of that, because I didn't want to get filled up before my actual dinner arrived. That being said, I made it through, but I was STUFFED. If you are a big eater, you probably would have been fine, but I just can't eat a lot in one go. FYI, they do have boxes, if you need to take something home. I had never been to Wegman's, so I can't compare the two, but I can say that Ricky's is definitely doing something right. It has been busy on both of the nights I visited, but service was attentive, efficient, and the timing was excellent between dishes. Our servers were friendly and helpful with recomendations when asked. We will definitely be back. 129/2025
