Decided to meet some friends at Vintage 38 last night and was not disappointed. First of all, parking in the village can be difficult to find. Their location, situated at the end of the strip, made finding parking a breeze. The staff was helpful in the selection process and came back to the table to ensure everyone was enjoying it. Even after we settled on a Boudreaux Blanc, the staff, hearing I wasn't the biggest fan of whites, came back to offer me a sample of a red he thought I may enjoy. He was 100% right. They have ample outdoor seating which we utilized this evening. Luckily this evening, the villages 4th of July festivities were also happening so we had some live music to enjoy as well. Finally, while they put together a tasty charcuterie board themselves, they also team up with other village establishments to offer more food options that can be delivered right to your table at Vintage 38. Tonight we needed something a little more so went with a pizza. It's a great option to enjoy a perfect evening in the Greendale village. read more

Visiting my wife's friends as we're from California for a birthday and thanksgiving as well. They took us to this wine bar (with beer too) and excellent choices. The selection and service were awesome too. Definitely stop by if you want some good drinks and a good time. read more

Vintage 38 is a darling little wine bar nestled in charming Greendale boasting a beautiful wine list as well as a lovely snack menu for accompanying bites. Came here recently for some snacks and a pre-dinner glass of wine. They have QR codes on the table for their menu and online ordering or they also have paper menus at the bar. We did a combo--paper menus to help facilitate online ordering. My dining companion is always on the hunt for a good malbec. They actually didn't have any on menu, so we both opted for a glass of their Elizabeth Rose "Chockablock", which is a medium bodied easy drinking cabernet sauvignon. It was lovely and paired well with our snacks. For our snacks, we went for a built your own board with three cheeses (a gouda, manchego, and a triple cream, bloomy rind cheese akin to camembert and brie), marcona almonds, olive oil and sea salt sourdough crackers, and mixed olives. Their cheese menu veers toward the creamier and mild flavors. They were lovely and paired well with the wine but I do prefer menus that lean to the sharper end of the spectrum. The space is large and so it was easy to find a quiet spot to linger with my date. The service was good and the prices are average. read more

We were celebrating with drinks. I had never been before. I was with a fun group so it made the occasion fun and festive. The wine was one of my favorites. May have to come back for a bottle. The service got better as the evening went on. My favorite was the wine and the company. So may have to stop by sometime with family and a cribbage board. read more

The cutest little wine shop! Nestled in the Greendale Village, this a must stop for wine and beer lovers alike. The owner hand selects each product that is served, including the "nibbles", a variety of cheese and charcuterie. If you're hungry for more, nearby restaurants will walk over and deliver! Wine is served by the glass, as well as flights so you can enjoy trying a variety. There are a few great cocktails as well; the Spanish gin & tonic is a must try. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly if you have any questions. Plenty of seating inside and when the weather allows, there are tables outside. One of my favorite spots in the 'burbs! read more

I'd say closer to 4.5 but I love the ambiance of the place. Very great date night place. I think the wine flight is the best for two people whereas if you have 4 or more then I'd settle on one bottle between all. It isn't cheap but it is a wine bar so what do you expect. Nice casual wine bar with a good selection and laid back staff. I've never been here when it's busy, but the service is just right when it's empty. Prices are fair, and the location is excellent, the downtown area of Greendale offers lots of eating, coffee, and shopping choices. You get a kite, dog cookies, a rare baseball card, a piece of pie all on your way here to have a couple of glasses of chilled cava. Which is what I had so I could daydream about Barcelona. read more

Vintage 38 is a great place to meet up with friends year-round! Outdoor seating during the warmer months and always indoor seating with a ton of charm. The wine selection is different every time I come here but have yet to have one that I didn't love. The staff is also wonderful, providing samples and even their suggestions on what you might enjoy. Vintage 38 also has a snack selection in case you need it - and the charcuterie is perfect (omg, that aged cheddar!). It's one of my go-to places for a lovely night out and would definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

What a great spot to for a glass of wine and some charcuterie with some friends or a solo date! It's a low key spot which I love and a hidden gem in the greater Milwaukee area. I actually really like this place, my partner and I would sometimes go here for a late night beer because its chill and the music is always good, the music connects to all people not just one crowd ever, beers and drinks are great, I wish they had bottles of wine not just the small bottles. We had dinner with good friends and they suggested this place for an after dinner beverage. Vintage 38 is located in the super-cute "downtown" Greendale just blocks from Southridge. The interior is a mix of table and soft seating, with arrangements of big groups or more intimate conversations. I like the gray and white colors used throughout - it's sophisticated and restful. They are some shelves of wine for sale as well - if you're looking for a nice bottle they definitely have something for you. For drinks, they have a nice list as you might imagine - most things in the $8-10/glass range. A nice beer list as well if you're into that. I don't know if they have much liquor, but there was a Spanish G&T on offer that the mister liked. I opted for a bubbly from Spain ($9) that was very nice - definitely nice to try something from a smaller producer. I didn't interact with any staffers but you do need to place orders at the bar (no table service). So I read the reviews prior to coming here and was really excited to try new wines and flights of wines. We walked in and were treated by two ladies. We waited around for someone to come by and say "Hi" or possibly offer some water and some suggestions and well no one came by. They walked past us many times and no interaction or anything which I personally think is so rude! Finally we ordered online and they brought over our flight and same attitude no conversation just plopped it on the table and walked away! So I start watching the two women behind the bar,they were having marvelous conversation with everyone but us, some other tables had water and glasses on their tables but us. So we gulped our wine and left! The entire room was filled with mostly white people and than two brown girls! Hate to pull the race card but the service sucked and I literally sat there and watch everyone get better service than us. P.s. I work in hospitality management and the service sucked! read more

Super cute spot in Greendale. They're located at the end of a small strip mall with little businesses. They have a large selection of wines and tap beers. My mom asked the bar tender to make a beer flight of her choosing and a few other patrons got involved and had a lot of fun with it. They offer build your own cheese board options and have another business that delivers food on certain days. read more

My wife and I stopped in and had two drinks each. I had two tap beers and she had two glasses of wine. i paid our bill with a debit card and looked at the receipt. I noticed that they only charged for one round. I notified the server and gave them a 20 to cover the difference. The manager came over and said that 20 dollars was 17 cents short. I had already left a tip of 25% on my card. What kind of place argues with a customer who tries to be honest over 17 cents.? horrible manager! will never go there again ! read more

We love that they changed to give the ability for wine club members the ability to use the free glass of wine for guests. The atmosphere is casual and a great place to study, work and have a small board meeting. Weekends are busier and a great place to take out of town guests. read more

What a cute little place! After seeing an add for their girlscout cookie and wine pairing, I decided to make the trek down to greendale to check this place out. The artsy decor and intimate space creates a great atmosphere. And they have wines from all over the place. They also have craft beer on tap should you need a reason to convince the boyfriend to join you here. We both opted for the pairing flight of 4 cookies and 4 wines. I was very glad to see that each wine was from a different country and of a different grape. The sparkling rose was my absolute favorite. One of the others was a bit too peppery for either of us, and upon seeing that neither of us drank it the waitress asked if she could replace it with one we liked better. We happily took another glass of the rose! The bar also has a bookshelf of games and books to enjoy your drinks. And the music is quiet enough to have a conversation but loud enough you can enjoy it if you're by yourself. Overall this place was great, and I will be back for another flight! read more
