First, I have to say I'm shocked at the negative reviews. I originally was treated by Dr. Pienczkowski prior his move to his private practice location. I was new to the world of therapy, but felt 100% concerned and cared about. After he left, I stopped going to the office. When I (mentally) realized I still need help, I went in search of his new location because his prior group gave me the 'I don't know where he went', which I thought was BS and their way of trying to make me see someone new in their office. No thanks. Upon seeing Dr. Pienczkowski, he again made me feel comfortable and safe, which is hard for a person like me who is used to helping others not having people help me. He is always very straight forward and concerned with my progress. So these horrible reviews are truly shocking. I give the Dr 5 stars, but only put 4 stars because the receptionist is not the most responsive. IE this week, I called in the early am and then again in the pm on Monday to discuss rescheduling my apt (due to work mtg), I didn't get a reply so I told my boss I would have to miss meeting. She called me mid-am Tuesday (day of apt) and said she canceled my apt, after I tried to say I didn't hear from her so I would keep the apt (so no cancel fee). She did put me in to see Dr two days later, so all worked out. Again, reading the horrible reviews is truly shocking. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but (again) being someone not comfortable with the idea of 'therapy'...I would refer him to every and any friend, family or co-worker. read more

I visited Dr. Pienczykowski today for the first time and he was rude and unprofessional. I have never experienced such an awful interaction with a mental health professional. He was incredibly demeaning and unprofessional. I do not recommend him; if you're looking for a good psychiatrist, I would advise you look elsewhere. Very unsatisfied with my experience. read more

Ray is a highly competent provider. I am a therapist and have used him several times in working with my clients who need medication. He may not be the most warm and fuzzy person, but that is not his job. His job is to make sure the patient has the best medication that helps the therapy they do with me work best. I appreciate his professional care and working closely with each client's therapist to make sure the continuity of care is complete. read more

Actually he isnt with a clinic he runs his practice out of a space rented in a business building. The people in the building are not associated together as a clinic. The billing with this is horrible. I have tried contacting many times and dont even get a call back because to discuss the charges since they are incorrect. I am now looking into getting assistance to handle this matter since it has been handled so poorly on his part. read more

I'm not that picky with health care providers. I've had some who are straight up cold and uncaring. But It takes a special kind of person to make me want to take the time to write a review, good or bad. And this wasn't the good special. Near the end of my experience, my prescription had ran out, and I called for 2 weeks straight trying to get it refilled. His secretary told me that he did, so I called my insurance to find out that they had no record of it being filled. Long story short, I told his secretary that this is considered negligence, and went to his office to talk to him. When I came in he told me he'd give me one minute (his secretary said his next appointment was in a half hour). He said that he was offended that I said he was being negligent, and threatened to drop me as a patient and only fill one of my 3 prescriptions. Then he proceeded to show me records of how he filed the prescription request 2 weeks ago. What I should have asked him, is why he didn't call to confirm it had been filled, but instead this caught me off guard and I apologized. Big mistake. He proceeded to place his demands. I was to make another appointment within a month, and he would only fill my prescription for a month. Also, he would not fill my other 2 prescriptions until the next appointment. When I suggested that it would be more plausible that he fill it for 3 months so I don't have to keep on coming back constantly, he said that he was in charge of making that decision, not me, and felt that I was suicidal (WHAT???) so he would not do this. I had never, once, ever said that I felt suicidal. Not once. So I left, a bit shocked. When I got back in my car, I called and said I wanted to cancel all future appointments with him. So, if you're looking for a care provider that will treat you like his bitch, return your call once then never do it again, neglect your prescriptions, and all around half ass his responsibilities as a care provider, he's your man!! How to put this nicely... this doc is a douchebag. He does not listen to your needs and just want you out the door quick. Oh, don't bother doing research and bring papers in with medication suggestions, because he will assume you are a junkie looking for drugs. Doesn't he know that with the internet people are more aware of different treatments? He refused to even try any of the meds I suggested, because, apparently, it's like telling him what to do. After several visits, I just can't give him a good review. He is cold and distant, acts like he couldn't care less about your problems. He seems reluctant to explain anything about his diagnosis or recommendations for treatment or medication. Several times, when I asked him to explain something, he said, "It would take too long." NOT a good quality in a mental health professional. Find a different doctor. Dr. Pienczykowski has nothing worth your time. read more

Dr. Pienczykowski isn't my top choice, but he does offer a sliding fee scale for people without insurance. However, you DEFINITELY do not get your money's worth at all. I've been waiting for a week to get my prescriptions re-filled even though the pharmacy has faxed his office twice. He tells me that he'll return calls or emails and then it takes him three weeks to do it. I paid $90 for my last visit that was supposed to be for 15 minutes (which I find ridiculous; 15 minutes for $90!) but I was in and out of his office in 7 minutes. For $90 of my money, I got 7 minutes of his time. read more

I have been going to Ray P. for quite a while now. I find him to be professional and quick to understand my situation. I am not sure why the other reviews are negative but each person does need to find a provider that is a good fit for them. I prefer a direct (even blunt) approach but that is not for everyone. I did find that the last clinic he was at did a poor job of billing and they were rather strict about cancellations so I hope that his new clinic does a better job in those areas. I do think he does a good job for me as a mental health provider. read more

I have been a client of Ray's for about two years and have nothing but positive things to say about him. When managing my medication and dosage changes, he's helped me to avoid the extreme moodswings I've experienced previously with other doctors(and dreaded). I wouldn't describe Ray as "warm and fuzzy" but he is professional and to the point, and actually listens to what I say. I've recommended him to others, and will continue to do so. read more

Raymond Pienckowski is a bad mental health professional. The first time I went to see him, he was condescending to me, and after I got my medication, I had a side effect that was potentially very dangerous. I called him, and he didn't have any advice on what to do. I ended up in the hospital. I had to discontinue the medication, and so I inquired about a different medication that was somewhat controversial but nevertheless has a long history of safety and efficacy. He totally disregarded me, saying "I'm not going to prescribe that to you." Then he stopped returning my calls and e-mails. He completely terminated me as a client with no warning. HELLO, you are a mental health provider?? You just drop your clients while they are in a vulnerable state? What the heck?? Anyway, long story short, my naturopathic doctor who is far more compassionate and understanding ended up prescribing me the "controversial" medication, which didn't end up being the right medication for me in the end. She nevertheless was willing to give it a try and not treat me like a tweaker. Raymond Pienckowski seems like he's in it for the money, not for his patients. read more
