I'm giving this three stars based on my first experience here (I'm averaging the score out, really). See, my girlfriend booked us two appointments for Sunday afternoon, (thank god for separate rooms). I was excited, since I hadn't had a facial in a few years! Once we arrived and checked in, we were promptly attended, right on schedule. Here's where my mixed feelings come in. The lady working on my face, was really quiet, and didn't really speak much. From my understanding, I'm paying for a custom facial experience, but I was saddened to find, that it was really just an average facial with extraction. Don't get me wrong, she was kind, professional, but the overall experience was lackluster. Look, I was happy to have someone not bothering me with questions, at first. Then I remembered, "Dude, you paid for a Custom Facial, this isn't an uber driver you don't want to hear from, you're supposed to be getting advice from the expert working on your face." By this time, I had already had the face mask on, and was instructed to wait for 10+ minutes, while it dries (about 10 mins remaining in the facial experience). Afterwards, I waited for my girlfriend to finish her facial (she opted for the additional microdermabrasion), and when I saw her, I could tell she was super excited about her experience. When we got inside the car, she explained how the person working with her explained in detail, the current status of her skin, and what she, the professional, eats to maintain flawless skin, and shared some tips my girlfriend could use to calm her eczema. All in all, I can't say I'll be returning. I will say that my girlfriend's was ecstatic, which made my lackluster experience overall satisfying. I read numerous good reviews about this place but I should've listened to the few bad ones. My deep tissue massage left me with a nook in my neck, the lady who massaged me was kind but for almost 100 dollars I didn't feel relieved. Then the ladies in the front desk have absolutely no customer service made me feel unwelcomed and I brought my mother here for her 50th birthday hoping to feel great but I left feeling like I owe my mother another spa experience. Do not let the looks of this gorgeous place fool you. The massages, facials, and customer service are trash. Only reason I give it 2 stars is because my massager was kind other than that look up any other spa DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. read more

I really like rayas spa. The aestheticians are all knowledgeable and friendly. I really liked Diana, she took her time telling me about my skin type, what products I should and shouldn't use. I really liked the shoulder massage she gave me and my skin feels amazing and rejuvenated since the facial she gave me! This place is nice, very clean and relaxing. I'm not sure if they have parking, but there's plenty of meters on la Cienega. Spa rooms are a bit tight and small however ambiance is very relaxing and they play soothing spa music. read more

Today I was in a funk and I felt like pampering myself . I decided to call Raya to see if I could get an appointment for a facial on the same day. To my surprise they had an appointment for me at 4:30pm. I arrived early and at exactly 4:30 I was greeted by Irina. Such a sweet woman with the most soothing voice. I knew this was going to be an amazing facial and I was 100% right. She was amazing from beginning to end. I highly highly recommend her for your facials. Thank you Irina for making me feel amazing after a wonderful facial. She completely changed my mood and I can't thank her enough. How have I gone this long without knowing about this place?! The facility is immaculate-the staff really kind-and I got microdermabrasion and used the spa for a super affordable price compared to lots of spas out there. Raya has a huge menu of services and if you go in for a treatment you can use the aroma room, sauna, and steam room for an hour. The aroma room was my favorite it felt so good to detox before my facial! Their products smell delicious-my face still feels so clean and fresh and it's been a week! I took my daughter here for a first time facial. First hiccup was I thought I ordered the spa facial because that included the baths and we would do an hour of steam and baths before and after our treatment. We arrived at 9:30am, allowing for a quick dip before our 10am. Upon check in I was told that we had the basic facial and that the spa facial was possible but we would need to wait because the baths were not ready till 11:30 because they needed to be heated up. Why would I have booked a spa facial that early if those services were not available? Bc I was never told this time factor when I booked over the phone. So we stuck with the regular facial and canned the spa/steam/ bath plan. We were called separately about 10 minutes after our set time. The lady I had was pleasant but the room was cold and no heat blankets were on for a quick slip in. Heated mitts were eventually put in but my legs and feet were cold. All the liquids put on my face were not described, which to me is a big part of the experience. I was asked if I wanted 2 upgrades, one at $20 and another at $100. I was already disappointed from a few things that I wasn't really interested in any upsells. My lady slipped out twice while a treatment set on my face, once for about 10 and another for almost 14 min. The whole service was over before I knew it. Won't return unfortunately. My teenage daughter liked her gal but she also didn't really have any notions of what the expectations should be. read more

I was just there and had the worst massage I have ever had anywhere. My massage therapist didn't enjoy interacting with clients. She was not interested in learning about where the problem areas on my body that I wanted her to focus on. When I attempted to talk about this in the beginning of the massage, she told me to stop talking so she could concentrate. The massage was painful and repetitive in terms of my neck and shoulders. She had me too low on the bed so the face cradle was uncomfortable. 24 hours later I am sore from her deep tissue massage. I would never go back. read more

The short version: Result-driven facials with no frills. Affordable enough that I was able to be a faithful customer to Lily, visiting her every three to four weeks for the past year. Lily isn't a miracle worker, but she's pretty close. I can't begin the stress how much her facials helped with getting my acne until control. It's pretty much gone, with the occasional pimple or two during that time of the month. One star deducted because the microdermabrasion sessions always made me break out big-time without doing anything for my acne scars. The long version: You don't want to read it; I don't want to write it. Basically, go to Raya Spa and ask for Lily if you want significant improvement in your skin. Parking is a hassle if its full, and don't be late to your appointment....you still have to pay full price and the time is docked off of how late you are (example, 20minutes late = lose 20minutes massage). WHISPER everywhere. First Floor - Front Desk/Billing, 2nd/3rd Floor - Spa Floor, 2nd Floor Spa Bathroom. You get to try out all of their products from washing gel, masks, serums to lotions all in one place if you get spa access. Spa access includes all the products, some high tech showers but with only some nobs working, steam room, nicer smelling steam room, sauna and hydro therapy room. You get a locker which includes slippers, robe, towel and 1 hanger. There is a nice lady there that could give you the steam/sauna towel outfit. Swedish Massage usually around $75, there is a 20% special this month ($15 off) = $65, and you pay the tip in a small envelope with your masseuse's name. ($15 tip). Deep Tissue Massage is $15 more than the Swedish Massage. Hot rocks during massage is another $4. I know its suppose to be nice, but whispering everywhere gets a little annoying. Especially when you're spending this spay day with girl friends. Front Desk Service - don't expect anything special. If anything, expect to wait awhile because they're a little slow even on the phone. Gf recommended this place for her facials, so it was our 1st time getting a massage and using spa access. Loved it! My came out here for my birthday weekend with my sister and we randomly wanted to get facials and looked up this place wanted Dermalogica but due to me not being vaccinated I wasn't allowed to get a facial so we looked up another place and brought us here I called she said yes vaccine or if you've had a covid negative test within 72 hours you can and I did and I was happy about that and the service was great and they accommodated us quickly I waited 15 because I was a walk in and received great service 2 hours before they closed! The people were nice. However, the products they used were scented and they are irritating to sensitive skin. It's basically as good as products you find at Walmart. Not good for your skin at all. Almost the entire time I had the facial, my face was burning. And to remove the products that they put on your face, they use a rough rag. God knows if it was even clean. And they use the same rag the whole time. Then, when it was time to leave, there was remnants of green mask on my face. I'm going straight home to wash my face. Facials are usually to heal your skin. This one irritated it completely. I'm just so disappointed and upset that i spent $100 on my birthday facial just to ruin my skin. I'm just praying my skin recovers quickly. read more

Brazilian Wax anyone?? Haven't you heard? They're the cheapest in the area! $39!!!! Susan and Jennifer are the best! They are SUPER friendly and they make you feel comfortable. I've experienced with both because I'm available certain days to go get waxed, so ask for either or. Because they are great! They use a separate container of wax and new sticks all the time! so that means..No sharing!!! :) I've been to a few places and the green wax they use here seems more light.. so when it's pulled off you don't feel your skin going with it. I have never been to this location and have not received any kind of service here but I am giving them 5 stars for the products!! I absolutely love their products!! Been using them for years. I love the mint soufflé cleanser. It works miracles. Leaving skin extra soft and smooth. Especially if you have breakouts. It really clears up your skin. I use the eucalyptus toner on a daily basis. Twice a day. Its great for pore size reduction. Azulen cream is great under makeup even if not wearing makeup, makes your skin glow. Prevents bacteria and breakouts, as well. I can go on and on about all the products I use from this line and cannot say one bad thing about it. I feel like my skin has really improved. I don't get massages very often so this place seemed a bit subpar. I came because I got a gift certificate and got a deep tissue massage with some hot stones (which normally costs a few bucks extra). You put your things in a locker and strip down and get to shower afterwards. Pretty standard. But the service here was a bit odd. Somebody took me up the elevator and opened the locker room for me but didn't explain the process very well. The masseuse knocked on the locker room for me before I was ready and that's how I met them. She was good, by the book, not chatty at all but more pushy than relaxing. At the end, she left so I could get dressed but then she disappeared and left me waiting for a while. Then I was left to find the locker room by myself and had to wait for someone to let me in. I showed myself to the shower and then had to find my way out on my own. Nothing is labeled very well. My massage was enjoyable but I didn't leave with less pain in my lower back, nor was I very comfortable the entire time I was in the building. So after disappointing experiences at Facial Bungalow (the esthetician was over-the-top irritating with her hard sell of the products) and Ruth's Skincare (I left the appointment bleeding!) my quest to find an LA facialist brought me to Raya. Parada (pronounced like "Prada" but with an extra syllable) did my facial, and she was wonderful! She was very friendly and thorough with the extractions, but not too rough. She also mentioned that I might want to try microdermabrasian next time, but she didn't try to up-sale me on it right then and there. Like other reviews mention, she did leave for a while during the mask portion, but she had already given me a shoulder massage at that point, so I didn't feel like it cut into my time. And I actually enjoyed my mini-nap and the fact that she didn't rush me out. Anyway, for the price, it was a great experience. Parking was also relatively easy (there is free street parking, not in the alley, but on the street behind the spa) and you can put the tip on your credit card. I will be back! read more

I was excited to try this place and I'm disappointed. It's very clean, everyone is nice. I went for a facial and when Suzanne started poking and popping my skin I asked her not to and she didn't listen. She would tell me she was going to explain what she was doing and she didn't. She pointed out every issue with my skin and I did not feel comfortable. I don't know her level of knowledge but she was harsh. I did not feel relaxed. This was my first facial in maybe 5 years? I'm sort of in love with Raya. This day spa is just EXCELLENT. I love to get my European facials done here. The facialists are always very nice, recommend products for you and do a great job. The facial itself is your typical European facial, but they also do the parafin wax job on your hands, which is nice. I love their facial products, particularly the fruit enzyme peeling stuff, the micro dermabrasian stuff and another one that I can't recall at the moment. Everything always feels super luxurious and smells wonderful. I know that when my skin is in serious need of help, I come to Raya. Appointments are sometimes hard to get, but with a call that you're in the neighborhood, you can usually get in within an hour. This spa is a classic. I've been coming here since I was in high school and I still love it for the same reasons. They have an extensive variety of services to offer. All of the estheticians I have met here have a lot of experience and are always sweet. The spa itself is very spacious while maintaining a soothing atmosphere. It's maintained very well and kept clean. Their steady prices don't rise exponentially like they do at other spas. Although they have made great suggestions occasionally, I never feel like I'm being pressured to buy the products or add on more services. It's easy to get an appointment without having to book too far in advance. The wait is always short. There is parking on the street as well as several parking spots reserved for Raya in the alley, where there is also a rear entrance. The large, blue and white building is hard to miss. read more
