Part of my problem is that I have a Great Dane, a little over a year old (and I'm embarrassed to say), that I have not socially acclimated well. I called the clinic ahead of time and asked about their waiting room area because this had been an issue with my last vet's office. I explained my circumstances and they said call us in the parking lot when you arrive and we will let you know when a room is open so you can take him right in. I arrived 15 minutes early and they did just as they had promised. The wait to see the vet tech was a little long but she apologized and said they had an emergency that morning so they were running behind. I can understand and appreciate that. The tech advised me of the packages and what was recommended but not necessary and even waited while I called my boarding facility to see what they required for his future stays. They took Brutus into the back to weigh him and a few minutes after asked me to come back to help get him on the scales. I managed to coax the front half of him on and 2 of the vet techs helped "load" the back end of him on. He was 156.6 lbs so it was no small feat and I appreciated the two ladies' efforts. Dr. Martin was great. Super patient with administering the vaccinations and advising me on my puppy's care. I had asked for my boy's nails to be dremmeled. Here's where they really showed that they care about my business and taking care of my pet. Brutus wiggled, squirmed, turned over a chair and did everything he could to get away from the three of us and having his nails trimmed. After about 10 minutes we finally got him calmed down enough to basically accept his fate. lol If you care about good customer service and making sure your pet is in the right hands I highly recommend this vet clinic. They have won my business after a year's search.

I'd selected A Couple Of Vets when I moved to a new neighborhood over 2 years ago. My review is strictly the cold, callous manner in which we were treated for the appointment to say goodbye to my Doberman, Axel. After a very short illness of 4 days, Axel was in the clinic on May 5 of this year where following tests Dr Le kindly and empathetically delivered a terminal diagnosis, recommending euthanasia. I wasn't ready for that diagnosis and declined saying 'we'll call later'. After a very sad night watching Axel decline, I phoned the following morning set an appointment for that mornin, May 6 for euthanasia. The One Star Review We arrived at the clinic and were quickly led to what seemed to be their euthanasia room. Dr Reynolds entered and went over the diagnosis, which seemed to be different from his wife's diagnosis the prior day, and then smugly stated "This is what happens with untreated heart worm", referring to a months prior appointment with Reynolds in which Axel was diagnosed with heart worm shortly after I adopted him. Reynolds quoted $2100 for treatment, a lot for my fixed income So I called around, finding treatment for $450. That resulted 2 negative tests from different clinics. He was on continuous heart worm prevention. I'm confused on how that was possible. The issue was the smug manner in which he said that and his flawed assumption that I had chosen to ignore his initial diagnosis and didn't get treatment for Axel's heart worm it only got worse. Following Reynolds smug and false opinion regarding my medical treatment of Axel, he offered treatment that would keep Axel alive 3-6 months longer. It didn't make sense to prolong the continued suffering and eventual death of my buddy and I chose euthanasi. Reynolds left the room to insert an IV on Axel and then returned with prefilled syringes and a paper. "First, you'll need to take care of this" he said while handing me the paper. His bill for this appointment! I was shocked and confused. I ALWAYS paid immediately upon departure. Suddenly, Reynolds is treating me as if I would not or could not pay his bill of $356.82 for euthanasia and cremation. it was a heartbreaking 24 hours from diagnosis to euthanasia, and now I'm being insulted by Reynolds's assumptions and further insulted and upset that he feared I might run out on the bill. Despite paying promptly for each prior visit with both dogs. All of this BEFORE I even had to end my buddy's life. after I paid the bill, things continued poorly with a broken lift table, Reynolds wanting Axel to get on cold, stainless steel lift table with no cover. My Axel was NOT going to spend his dying moments on a cold table. And was too slippery, so I told Reynolds to get the sheepskin style cover from the broken table so we could get Axel comfortable on this lift. Holding Axel while Reynolds injected the medications. He then confirmed Axels death. All very matter of factly, with NO empathy and no compassion. I've had to put down several pets through the years and NEVER has the veterinarian been so cold and callous as Reynolds. The office sent a nice condolence card signed by staff and included flower seeds to plant in memory of Axel. All nice, but all to late to repair the damage Reynolds did that day. I get this is his job and he probably euthanizes pets regularly, but what kind of Veterinarian does so with no warmth or understanding? What kind of vet insists the bill be paid first by a promptly paying client of 2 year? My answer is A Couple Of Vets who will never see one dollar from me again. And I have told this story repeatedly to friend and neighbors. BTW: I've yet to receive the paw print I ordered.

Without a doubt, this is the best veterinary practice that I've ever come into contact with. Recently I needed to speak to a vet - pronto - due to the fact that my daughter had a hold to adopt a dog from the Harris County Animal Shelter. The dog had a reaction to anesthesia during his required neuter surgery. Full details were relayed to me by the Harris County vet, but I wanted to consult with one of MY vets prior to proceeding with the adoption. Drs. Heimlich and Schmitt were not available, but Dr. Wolff called me back within a very short period of time. After explaining the situation, she gave me her professional opinion, spending quite a bit of time with me on the phone. We did decide to proceed with the adoption and promptly brought him for a check up (and for vaccines and meds that are not provided at the county shelter). As it so happened, Dr. Wolff was the only vet with an appointment late that afternoon, so we grabbed it. What a wonderful experience! Great manner with this new dog and with me - a client she had never met before. Visit was thorough and never rushed. I was very pleased. When we brought this new boy in for some boosters several weeks later, she had relayed all of his info and our discussions to Dr. Heimlich. I was grateful that she was so detailed in her notes regarding my phone call with her and our subsequent visit. Our dogs are truly members of our family. It's so nice to have a staff of vets that treat them with such care and concern. They are, simply, the BEST.

They kept trying to push a senior blood work exam for $180. And even said that her ears were just fine (no infection). This comes after the $60 office visit. Today, my dog's conditions worsened. After being told I'd have to pay another office visit at the "fancy" vet, we decided to try Cypresswood. Found out my dog has a UTI, an ear infection (which I suspected just by my own experience from my 10y.o. dog), and kidney stones. That explains everything! The office visit and urinalysis only cost $100 total. Much better value. Enjoyed the no frills, down to business, but caring and good value at Cypresswood!

Before being seen by Dr Hinton, we checked in and the front desk receptionist was so sweet and professional. Next, Abby was assessed by the Vet technician who also was professional and considerate when working with Abby who happens to be blind. Next. Dr Hinton came in, introduced herself and was extremely thorough in her examination of Abby, all the while explaining what she was doing. She then went over her findings, discussed options and answered all are questions. What a wonderful place to take your fur babies for specialty care.

This was the exact wording that was used on the necropsy report. Dr. Zamora performed the surgery, and I'm currently in the process of filing a complaint against her with the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. The board will then determine if she violated Rule 573.22, Professional Standard of Care and Section 801.402(6) of the Veterinary Licensing Act. I'm happy to post updates on what the board concludes once the investigation is complete, but for now I will include the full details below and you all can decide for yourself if you feel comfortable taking your own pet to this clinic. This event occurred on 1/25/2024. Although I wanted our local community to know about this as soon as possible, I didn't want to compromise my complaint in anyway and I also needed some time to grieve in order to be able to discuss this from a factual standpoint rather than emotional. Nova went in for surgery at 7:15AM. I received a call at 9:52AM and I spoke with Zamora. Zamora informed me that Nova was out of surgery, and we agreed on a pickup time of 4:00PM. At this point I thought everything was fine and planned to leave my place of work at 3:00PM since it's an hour commute to the clinic. Per the surgery records, my cat started showing signs of lethargy at 11:25AM and was unresponsive at 1:30PM. It says in the notes that no bleeding was observed at the uterine stump, but this is inconsistent with the necropsy report which noted hemorrhage at the uterine stump. I had a missed call from Zamora at 2:59PM. Zamora left a voicemail saying Nova needed a blood transfusion, and that they do not have the blood on hand so I would need to take her to an emergency veterinary hospital. This makes me question why this clinic is performing surgeries without having adequate supplies on hand in the event of an error or complication. I was already on the way to pick her up at this time, due to my commute. I arrived at the clinic and rushed Nova to an emergency veterinary hospital nearby, where she unfortunately passed due to hemorrhagic shock. Per the necropsy report: "The suture was in place, but likely compromised. Often postsurgical activities compromise the sutures leading to hemorrhages from the surgical site." Nova was under Zamora's and the clinic's care during the time any "postsurgical activities" would occur between the time of surgery and the time she was unresponsive. I'm disappointed at how slow this moved. If I was informed sooner, I could have left work earlier to get to Nova so that she could receive a blood transfusion sooner. I brought my healthy cat in with no known medical issues, and when I picked her up, she was bleeding internally to the extent of needing a blood transfusion. She was under Zamora's/the clinic's care between those two points in time. The whole ordeal of having to pick up my cat's lifeless, unresponsive body and rush her to an emergency clinic was traumatizing to say the least. I hope that by sharing my story, others can make a more informed decision when selecting veterinary care for their beloved animals. Things like this simply should not happen. Please do better.

Bubba was a patient at Louetta Veterinary Medical Center for years, with ongoing treatment for chronic constipation. This day, he was seen by an alternate vet. Before she took him to have blood drawn, I warned her he was a stress biter and currently in pain. She didn't ask about vaccines. Soon she returned Bubba and only said bloodwork results would take a few minutes. Later, she explained the results, then casually said Bubba had bit the tech who drew his blood. The tech, not finding a microchip or vaccine record, had called Animal Control without first asking about Bubba's vaccine record! In all years Bubba was a patient at this clinic, rabies shots never was mentioned. At home, I had 12 rabies shot certificates. I discontinued when his health declined as he grew old. Bubba lived only indoors with me, an elderly widow. Seeing me shaken, the vet left the room and another brought pain med for Bubba. He said Animal Control would just call, ask questions and allow home quarantine. I asked to see the bite. The tech showed a single toothpick puncture at base of her thumb that was not bleeding or even bandaged. At night, a uniformed Animal Control officer arrived and asked to see Bubba. He saw no signs of rabies as Bubba calmly purred when the officer pet him. I was allowed home quarantine for 10 days, then a vet had to call Animal Control confirming no signs of rabies. Tragically, Bubba was slowly, painfully dying. I called many other clinics for help. ALL were disgusted at what this clinic did, said their techs expect bites and would never dream of reporting anyone. They agreed to euthanize Bubba, but during quarantine, had to send his body to Animal Control for decapitation to test brain tissue for rabies. I would not get to bury Bubba. I prayed Bubba would make it until the 10th day to close the case, but he died Thanksgiving morning. Animal Control was closed until Sat., so had to keep Bubba's body on ice for 2 days before taking it to them. With tears and a shattered heart, I buried a symbolic teddybear. This clinic argues the legality of the issue. Panhandling also is illegal, yet police do not arrest them because of the human factor. This clinic has lost its heart. It posts no sign to warn it will hurt you if your pet, in fear or pain, nips anyone and is not up to date on rabies shot. I share my traumatizing experience to warn you.
