This is the best Italian restaurant I ate in Midland over the past two years. The place is not large but very cozy. The owner and waiters are all very friendly and you can bring your own wine. The food is very authentic and large portions. We had a party of six and all food ordered were great. I particularly liked the stuffed mushroom and we had three orders of this. read more

This place is decent. The bread knots were awesome but when our main dish came out I was underwhelmed. My noodles were extremely cooked to the point it was mushy when I tried to get some with my fork. Maybe I'm biased because I like my noodles on the al dente side. My husband was hungry so it satisfied that but the flavors were a miss. Afterwards, we left to do some shopping and both of our stomachs hurt. Not sure what went wrong here. read more

Rays Italian Bistro is a pleasant restaurant. Clean, friendly staff and good food. Was the food out of this world? No. Was it better than a fast food Italian joint like Fazoli's? Yes. It's a small little restaurant, dark lighting, candles, this place can definitely be a nice first date spot. The food is moderately priced. Not too expensive depending on what you order and not too cheap. Just in between. The food was good but not amazing and a question I always ask at Italian restaurants is if they make their own pasta. I feel like if an Italian restaurant doesn't make their own pasta in house than it's not as good. Sadly, they have their pasta shipped in which was fine but if they made it themselves it would definitely make a huge difference in the taste of the food. They had big size pizzas. My sister got the smallest size pizza and it was huge and she took it home. I love escargot. But some restaurants can really butcher it. This restaurant was one of them. I ordered the escargot appetizer and they brought escargot drenched in some kind of sauce and it totally ruined the escargot for me. They give you a nice amount of escargot but I could of done without the sauce they put all over it. We ordered the cannoli for dessert and it was probably one of the worst cannoli's I have ever had. I only took one bite. It was like buying a cannoli from a gas station because it looked like those fried burritos from 7-11. My son had spaghetti and meatballs and loved it and they gave him a good portion size so that was appreciated. I give this restaurant 3 stars because the staff was kind, it had some pros and some cons but overall it was decent and I noticed a lot of people ordering and picking up pizza to go, so I would definitely order a pizza to go from here over Pizza Hut or Dominoes. read more

Loved this place! Their homemade garlic bread and dipping sauce are delicious! The service was great and super quick. They don't serve any alcohol but you can BYOB, without a pesky cork fee! We even saw people with small coolers filled with beer. The actual restaurant is small but cozy and the ambiance feels authentic. The only setback is their tiny waiting area, but we were seated immediately when we went on a semi-busy Wednesday. read more

Pretty Good Italian, One time I ordered Spaghetti with meatballs and meat sauce and there was no meatball to be found. So I was just eating noodles and tomatoes sauce. Ray's has a home-cooked Italian food atmosphere but the flavor of a big city gourmet restaurant. The calamari is excellent: crispy outside, flavorful, tender inside. An absolute pleasure and truly one of their best dishes is the Spinach Ravioli. The wait time was relatively short, considering we had a party of eight without a reservation. Dinner was served hot, (as it should be right?) and after we had enough time to devour bread, calamari, and mozzarella sticks. Our waiter was prompt, checked on us often, despite being shorthanded in a packed restaurant, and very patient. Ray's is definitely a terrific family restaurant! read more

Was a valued customer until I picked up a cold and wrong order...The manager who acknowledged the error wanted me to drive 7 miles round trip and return the food instead of a future credit on a meal, when I declined she got nasty and told me "OH WELL" $50 apparently doesn't mean anything to her. It has been tasty however it takes too long to fill an order. I value service the most of all and will X it off my list of decent restaurants. read more

Ate here two days in a row. Once isn't enough. The Chicken Parm on the first day was exceptional. The pizza I ordered for the kids was too notch. The server was fantastic with my kids and polite. I've only had their pizza but it is some of the best around. It's a little higher price but the taste makes up for it. We did dine in once the place is small and a little tight you might have to wait if you didn't call ahead and make a reservation. People were waking in with their own bottles of wine. We have food allergies and after much detail in placing the order, the kitchen still didn't get it right. Wait staff checked before it came out (so grateful!) and they remade it correctly. Can't blame the restaurant- they were gracious in fixing the mistake. Garbage! Absolute garbage!! I asked for my pizza to be "browned/crisp/not undercooked". I didn't think this was a crazy request, but apparently it was. I received a pizza that was undercooked and hardly even warm. No big deal, right... The waiter took it back to the chefs and promptly returned to us saying that the chef's objected to cooking it more because it had already been cut and could not be cooked further. I guess they couldn't place it back in the oven, that would be too difficult. Anyways, things turned great!!!! I went to Rosas Cafe and got a bean and cheese burrito and #14 beef fajita with tomatillo sauce, absolutely amazing! Very cute small traditional Italian restaurant. Very tasty grilled portobello, cold antipasto salads (with anchovies!), good Veal Carciofi, missing one star for the carbonara- too watered down and can't taste the egg and bacon.
