Had to update my review to 5 stars. It's too good not to. Eggplant parmesan is the best I've ever had! If the bread comes out warm it cannot be beat - especially with their spicy balsamic vinaigrette olive oil dip. read more

This place is great!! Wonderful service and delicious food! There are many choices and we try something different every time! The portions are really huge! We often split the main dish and the salad! Warning; if you plan to eat there in the evening, call ahead for a reservation! It's worth it! read more

Sorry to say but my visit to this place with my daughter was just horrible. I know they must know it because They purposely ignored us. We went there because I bragged about this place to my daughter. When they first opened it was great. There was a party of 4 people that ordered 3 bottles of wine and a guy that talked and laughed so hard constantly that disrupted everyone. I was looking around and everyone was annoyed. The waiter and the owner serviced the table personally like they were stars and we had to wave them down for service. The owner personally sliced there meat and served each person ,poured there wine for them, Brought out a desert cart and showed them in detail deserts. No other table got this kind of service. Our waiter took park in their catering too and blew us off. I asked for bread 3 times and got none. Finally the waiter took our order. He seemed bothered to have to come to our table. I and my daughter just sat quietly watching and waiting for our food. 45 min. later we get it. Food was alright. Was great when I went before. Maybe I should have ordered 3 bottle's of wine too or wait maybe 4 so I could get good service like that. I will not be back. I would give it another chance like I do other restaurants that have bad service but you know what, I think not . This was the worst dining experience I've had. Like I said I am sorry about this rating and I do feel that you all need to know what went wrong. Laura read more

Great BYOB Italian restaurant. Mozzarella was fantastic! Highly recommended the Chicken Sunrise and Chicken Piccata. The seasoning in both dishes was spot on and the sauces were great! read more

Awesome food at a great value. Great service and welcoming atmosphere. I have been here on several occasions and the food is always spot on and they have no problems with my special requests (low carb options). Ray is always checking on you and Ernest the manager is the same way. Jenna, Hanna Dillon and everyone else caters to the customer. read more

We tried this place for the first time tonight and the food was outstanding. The bread with oil and vinegar mixture was just an awesome start to a wonderful meal. Lasagna, tortellini and spinach ravioli entres were great. Then limoncello cake to end this terrific meal. I strongly recommend it. read more

I absolutely love the spinach ravioli! I also love that the owner has been at the location every time we have been.

This is my second visit and I couldn't be happier. There was a negligible wait before the server arrived but the service is intuitive and unobtrusive. The food I have ordered is well prepared and imaginitive. The timing from the back of the house is spot on. If you are looking for a relaxed environment and a fresh take on Italian food, this is the place to go in Midland. read more

Pretty good food, TERRIBLE service. My ravioli was sub-par, a bit on the chewy side. The waitress forgot to put our calamari app in: I was so excited to try Ray's for an evening. We bought wine to take (no corking fee, yay!). I called to make reservations and they told they didn't take them. When we got there, even parties behind us were seated, two 4 tops and a 2 top. A party of 9, who showed up 30+ minutes after us, apparently with reservations, got a table before us. After being told we had to wait for a round 5 top table, 50 minutes later, they crammed our 5 top at a square, 4 top table (and seated the 5 top behind us at a nicer table a few minutes later). The seating host was friendly but not impressive. Their seating order made ZERO sense. I don't think the host knew what he was doing. We saw our waitress 4 times the entire 3 hours. She was friendly, but sparse. She even dropped our friend's card and didn't even notice she didn't bring it him - we had to find it on the soaking wet floor. Definitely won't be returning and would not recommend to my worst enemy for evening date night; go with a different local Italian place if you want good Italian food AND good service. Not even more reasonably priced than other local Italian restaurants. Only pro: BYOB with no corking fee. read more

Great Italian food! So glad I found this hidden gem. You can't go wrong with what you order from their pasta to their pizzas. Must try for sure! read more

We were also told that they did not accept reservations, yet after we arrived, there were 2 large tables, where guests arrived 20 minutes later, and were seated. The bread tastes good, but is served cold. I ordered the spinach salad, and was disappointed. It is served with a tomato basil dressing, which I did not like at all. I also ordered the eggplant Parmesan. The tomato sauce was bland, watery, with no flavor. They threw some spaghetti on the plate, with the same bland tomato juice. I then ordered Italian cream cake, but was served the limoncello cake. The waiter never refilled our water. We waited 25 minutes for our bill. The server came & got our credit cards, and finally showed up 15 minutes later. No bill, just the credit card receipt. Terrible service! Maybe I did not order the best entree; however, it was highly recommended by our waiter, so I am not inclined to give Ray's a second chance. Best part is that one saves a lot of money by BYOB. read more

We went to Ray's tonight. Waiter overcharged us. When I pointed it out to him he said he would correct if I could produce a credit card. Had to get the manager to correct the ticket. I have never been so isolated at a restaurant in my life!!!! Watch the tickets at Ray's. After you are totally insulted you can sit on the sidewalk in front on the restaurant and breeth deeply to recover for the insult. Waitstaff is iffy at best. Check you checkit. read more

I've been there twice . One time was at lunch and the next time was at dinner. Greek salad was a little "soggy" . Salmon was a little dry. The next visit we called for reservations and when we arrived, they had no record of the reservation. The other time we had chicken fortuna , it was good. The waiter was very short with us when we asked for additional bread. He said they didn't have any extra. Then soon after brought 2 pieces. May give them one more chance.... read more

Our waiter was very nice. The food was good. Prices were good. Looking forward to going back really soon

I have been here twice. Once when it first opened and again just last week so it had been open for months. It's still the same bad service it was when it first opened. It still took almost 2 hours for us even to fine there because it took an hour to just get our food. Which we wanted pizza but they said it was a 30 minute wait so we chose other things and it still took an hour and then we didn't even get one of our plates because they forgot. It is great food but extremely unorganized and slow service. Tried it twice and I won't be back to fine in at least. read more

We got there right when they opened. Didn't see it on their website, but was told it was BYOB. So I went over to Hemingway's and got a couple of bottles of wine. My wife and I were were having dinner with a friend. After I came back with the wine, I waited 10 minutes for the waiter. I finally went to the back to ask for some service. The 3 waiters were watching videos on a phone. When he came out he didn't know what the specials were. The food was about a 6.5 - 7. After we had finished eating, we were talking and finishing our wine. We had finished eating about 15 minutes prior when the Manager came up. He asked if everything was ok and would we be ordering dessert. The way he asked, after he left, we looked at each other and asked " Were we just told to hurry up and leave?" Well, we only had a couple of sips of wine left so we laughed it off and planned to just stay about 10 more minutes. After about 5 minutes, the manager came back and asked if we could move to another table. We told him we were about to leave in just a couple of minutes. He said he needed our table now for a family that was waiting. Our tab came to about $90 after I left a 21% tip. I always leave a good tip because I know it's a hard job. But you can bet that will be the last time we will dine there. I have never had the experience of a manager trying to push us out the door. read more

we came in to eat a few days ago in the evening, our original impression was good until we noticed the food scattered on the floor, the dirty glasses and silverware and the staff. our waiter hardly even made eye contact with us for the first 10 minutes we were sitting at our table. the flies were annoying and very unsanitary and to make things worse, from our table we could see the chef in the kitchen putting the tongs he was using to cook in his back pocket, then continuing to cook with them. the stuffed mushrooms (stuffed with crab we presumed) smelled and tasted way too fishy, as if someone left the crab out in the hot sun for an hour and then cooked with it, and the bread was very stale. to top off this horrible experience, when the waiter returned with our refilled glasses, i found a hair in my tea. we definitely wont be back, and if you care about your health and what's in your food, i would not recommend eating here. read more
