The calamari and clams were tasty, so I ordered another basket of semolina bread to soak it up. I might as well baked it myself. Kids meals are served. My youngest orders an additional sauce. Ten minutes, fifteen minutes, the waiter comes out to the table and delivers a side of sauce. My son has been finished with his plate for a while now. Our main's are served. Plates on table, do you think they would offer salt, pepper, grated cheese? Nope. I had to grab another waiter for condiments. An hour fifteen into our meal then the waitress returns for a water refill. I'm glad the view was nice and people around us were having a good time. The restaurant was clearly understaffed for the night. I counted several tables around us nursing cocktails for over an hour and half patiently anticipating their dinner to be served. Food was typical New City Italian. Next time, I'll take the family to Piermont or Nyack.

Instead of a healthy vegetable, I was given a mushy, over-cooked Cauliflower covered in Buffalo Hot Sauce and butter. I'm guessing that they had made Buffalo Cauliflower for an appetizer another day, and had some leftover, so they decided to use it as a vegetable side? Hey, if I wanted leftovers, I'd have eaten at home. The waitress who never read us the specials also never came by to ask if everything was okay. I'd like it if someone at Ella's realizes that good customers can recognize when things are not up to the usual high standards. We notice when leftovers are served as side dishes. We notice when entrees are cut into. We don't enjoy being given tables with sun glare. We used to enjoy Ella's, and we hope that this was just an off day.

The deliveries are consistently late, making the food that arrives cold and bad sometimes. I order online, giving more than one hour notice (I ask for my food to be delivered later) and they either fail to plan correctly or they don't have enough drivers I think I am going to give up on them. They need to hire more drivers and be on their game a little better.. They could be running the delivery game in town, because Agnellos, Norcia, and Roccos all don't deliver. read more
