Tonight we ordered the Chicken Francese, Jamaican beef patty, a large pie and zeppolis - everything was cooked perfectly. The chicken was golden brown and you could taste the lemon and see the parsley absolutely delicious. The Pizza was nice and thin with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese - the pizza was cooked just the right amount not underdone not overdone just nice and crispy. Beef patty always tastes great - ground beef was smooth the way it should be. My kids loved the zeppolis they ate them before i even had a chance to try one lol. The only negative is that our gluten free family member was not a fan of the gluten free crust they made. I've been a frequent customer of new city pizza for quite some time, but after a few recent incidents I will no longer be a patron. The first incident occurred when I ordered a pie through slice and the boss ended up calling me shortly afterwards. He immediately lectured me on how important it is to tip service workers, something I am very well aware of, for a good three minutes or so. I tried to interrupt him, but he would not let me get a word out. After he was done, I informed him that there must have been some mistake because I definitely tipped 15%. He then realized that there was an error on his end with the ticket, didn't apologize, and just said that he was surprised because it had never happened to him before... The second incident happened a month or so later. I ordered a pie and wings through slice that was never delivered. I tried calling the restaurant multiple times but they would not pick up. A customer service rep from slice also could not get through to the restaurant so I had to wait until the next morning for help. The next morning comes and I get an email from slice that they got into contact with the restaurant and that I cannot get a refund. Freaking out, I call the restaurant and explain the situation but the boss keeps telling me that they delivered it and they closed an hour early which is why they didn't pick up the phone. He says something along the lines of not being able to refund everyone who claims they never received their food. It was just frustrating that my explanations weren't being heard and immediately I was treated like a scammer, even after being a regular for quite some time. Later it was figured out that they delivered it to my next door neighbor by mistake. They did apologize this time and I finally got my money back, but it was a very frustrating experience and waste of time having to fight to get my money back. I held off on writing this review, but I realize that how the boss acted was wrong on so many levels. I will not be ordering from this establishment ever again. read more

We always order from here. Great pizza and service but our last order we had a delicious eggplant pizza and Beav salad delivered but the salad originally came with grilled chicken on it. They graciously delivered a second salad and it had chicken on top again. When we called to say we got the wrong salad again the owner explained that he watched it being made and we should look under the chicken. And there it was... The salad we ordered and that they had sent twice correctly. So embarrassing! They deserve an amazing Yelp review bc the entire situation was handled professionalism and grace and at the end of the day all they cared about was making sure that we were happy and had what we ordered. This review is not about the quality of the food or the service. It is the safety of its staff and customers. They have very little safety procedures. None of the staff wear masks. They do not to encourage customers to wear masks or distance themselves from other customers. For that reason it will be a very long time before I purchase their product again. read more

I've been going to New City pizza for quite a number of years. The food was always good and the help friendly so you can image I was a little nervous that they changed owners. I'm glad to say that not only was the food the best but is always plentiful as well. We love it so much that we recently had my kids and grandkids over and felt it was a better idea to cater instead of individual meals. I was so right. Ordered a Grandma's Pizza from New City Pizza and it has got to be the best I have tasted within the area. The crust was crispy but still chewy on the inside. The ingredients are fresh and delicious! I haven't ordered in 11 months (since the whole pandemic started) and they have made renovations that rivals the next restaurants around New City. Not good. This feels like a dominoes pizza, perhaps a bit greasier. Tried them twice and each time it's subpar. If you want something that feels remotely authentic, this is not the place. I called to let them know my pizza was not made to order, and they got defensive and lectured on pizza crust and cheese. I try not to leave negative reviews, but dismissing my experience on the phone and insisting they are right is just bad business. Also, when we went in a few weeks ago nobody wears mask here. So there have been several reviews of this establishment stating that the employees don't wear their masks. I had hoped that they would take this matter seriously when I picked up my order yesterday. I was so disappointed and angered to see not one employee wearing their mask correctly; this includes the staff working in the kitchen.
