    Completion of their scope
    Tina M.

AMAZING! From design conception to completion, my project was executed perfectly by Ramiro and his crew. My 550+SF deck was falling apart. I wanted to eliminate it and replace with a patio space. However, my house is raised, so my idea was to keep the newer section of the deck. I determined the area to retain, blue taped it, and it was done...to exact design in my mind. Every detail that I wanted, it was done to the "T". Ramiro was always on top of his communication, and very responsive to my questions and asks. The craftmanship on the work was great as well. I've observed every stage of the job and I had no complaints! Everything was done accordingly...meaning the grading/sloping of the cement, the drainage, and the rebar. The woodwork was excellent as well! Due to the location of where the deck was cut, Ramiro needed to add bracing support. The new steps were cut and aligned to the old deck seamlessly. I also had Ramiro install the pergola I ordered from Costco. This was no easy task. It's a 10'x20' SF operable ceiling louvers. They have not done one before, so I provided the details from the manufacturer and videos. They took the time to review all the reference materials beforehand and upright it perfectly. In the pictures, the reduced deck was not stained or painted, because it wasn't in their scope. Saving some tasks for my son to do. :) Ramiro and team can do the work of most trades...cement, paver, and woodwork (from my experience). It is rare to find a team that can do it all. Certainly a cost savings from having a GC contracting with multiple sub-contractors...in my case, would've been three subs. I am extremely happy with my new backyard space and will be enjoying it for years to come!

Ramiro was brought in as a sub-contractor to replace the coping around our swimming pool (we were looking for a more modern look) and he did a terrific job. I asked if he could replace the rock facing on the front of our house and he was easily able to get us on his schedule. The job was a lot more involved than we had expected, but he was a master. The new look has brightened up the look of our house and drew compliments from the neighbors. Ramiro and his crew are responsive and very professional. We would recommend him without reservation.

    Before demo

Ramiro, Brayan & team did an excellent job with the demolition and installation of pavers on our very large driveway. Ramiro was very attentive & responsive from our initial request for an estimate to the last day on the job. His crew arrived on time daily and finished the job in a timely manner. Quality work with fair pricing. We look forward to using them again on future projects.

    Before restoration

Had my 25 yr old pool redone. Ramiro & Brayan were hired to do the hardscape remodel. This included: demo of an old waterfall, removal of existing stone, tile, coping, and concrete deck surrounding the spa; removal of old tile in the pool; adding tile in the spa & pool; adding new coping to the spa and steps; new tile face surrounding the spa; new stone deck, retaining wall & stone steps to match existing stone; new concrete walkway behind the spa; expanded concrete walkway to match existing stamped concrete and installed related drainage for the project. See pictures of before and after. This team and their workers do excellent detailed work, are professional, reliable, good communication, hardworking, and honest. I highly recommend them.

Ramiro and his crew did an amazing job on our project! What we needed done: 18" (leaning) concrete retaining wall removed, replaced with treated lumber wall, remove & replace 100' length of fence that was on top of the concrete wall. I got numerous estimates for concrete removal and separate estimates for the fence. Ramiro was the only one who said he could do both! His estimate was very fair. He and his crew started on time and finished earlier than expected. He returned texts promptly with me and my neighbor that shared this fence. He built the fence exactly how we wanted it. They were all so friendly and cleaned up thoroughly when all was done. It's obvious he takes great care in his work and knows what he is doing. I will definitely be hiring him to do other work for us in the future! Included is a before/after picture

We were referred to Rb Masonry through a friend who leveraged Ramiro and his team for two backyard projects. We hired them to take on our driveway and they did not disappoint! Ramiro and team were excellent -- Incredibly prompt, clean, detail oriented, and hardworking. They worked tirelessly in the heat to stay on schedule and were meticulous in their execution. It's clear they take pride in their work.

Blue Pool coping tile. Ramiro did a great job.

Ramiro and his son, Brian, do exceptional work. They have a strong work ethic and their workmanship is top notch. I inherited a family home that my grandparents built close to 80 years ago. All of the concrete around the property needed replacement and the pool needed renovation along with other items. Ramiro was very attentive to my wants and needs and he provided me ideas when I was lost or needed guidance. I asked Ramiro so many questions and he was so patient with me throughout the entire process even when I would change my mind a dozen times. Ramiro was very communicative with me and he always responded to my calls or text messages promptly. Ramiro demolished close to 6000 square feet of concrete from the property, repoured the concrete with pebble, installed a new shed, installed a gas fire pit, installed new aluminum patio columns, installed the pool coping (Silver Travertine), installed the blue tile inside the pool, built a wood deck front porch and redid my driveway and installed drainage on my driveway. I have nothing but great things to say about Ramiro and his work. I cant tell you how any people would stop and ask me who was doing all of the work and I would provide them Ramiro's name and number. I have a few more projects for Ramiro coming up in the spring. You will be veryyyyy happy you went with Ramiro, no doubt. Call or text him Today! Thank you so very much Ramiro!

    Gate with arbor.

Ramiro replaced and updated a retaining wall and fence shared with my neighbor. Additionally, he replaced two gates on my property. All of Ramiro's work looks great. He listened carefully to what my neighbor and I wanted and translated our ideas into an attractive and functional design. Ramiro and his crew were very pleasant to work with. I highly recommend Ramiro and his crew.

Joe, Miguel, and team at Expert Gate Company have been great to work with. The scope of our project…read morewas in two parts: replace our driveway gate and make it powered, and then later replace the front fence and pedestrian gate, this time incorporating a built-in parcel box and security hardware. Expert Gate's craftsmanship is rock solid and we're really happy with the results. We live on a downslope hill with MANY utility lines underground to literally work around. It was a complicated project that required an entirely custom fabrication to follow the grade of the ground, with posts in really specific positions. We worked with Joe as our Project Manager, and throughout the process he was attentive and receptive to feedback, quote negotiations, and design requests along the way. There were 3 things that popped up over the duration of the project. We kept having issues with the gate operator that took longer than anyone wanted to deal with. It ended up being a series a faulty parts from Liftmaster, and nothing to do with the installation from these guys. Additionally, there were a couple of details that I wish were incorporated into the quotes, such as measurements and design mockups (we had to talk about a couple of things and make decisions in real time, which could have been mitigated if we had more specifics on the quote & planning process). Finally, the overarching project time for the front fence did take a little longer than expected. We had to have the front of the house in a bit of a construction state for a few weeks, but ultimately the end result is polished and very well executed, and we're happy with how everything turned out. Those minor issues aside, were still glad to have worked with EG and will gladly work with them in the future. Thanks again to Joe, Miguel, and the crew!

Update: found someone else who was able to fix everything without moving the posts at all. Insanity…read morethat I was going to let these guys swap out my aluminum posts for iron posts that wouldn't even match my gate. So I ask again, what are these guys experts at? Initial experience was bad. Sales guy came, was short with me, seems uninterested. Promised to give a quote. Waited 4 days. Didn't get a reply. I wrote a bad review and moved on. Owner contacted me asking me to remove the review and he can help me out with my gate job. I needed someone to help fix a botched gate install job so agreed. The job was to remove two existing posts and replace it with new steel posts. The price quoted for TWO posts were not cheap. He seems to think he's doing me favor for labor only but it was not cheap. It cost the same amount as the full job by the other company for the full install. I'm OK with it because at that point I wanted a job to be done by someone who knows how to do the work. Of course, I found out the reason they're expensive because they SUBCONTRACT to another company that specializes in gates. Are they the expert or is the subcontractor the expert? Nevertheless, I waited a week and a half for the scheduled date. The night before, he text me and ask if I have two steel posts that they need. They quoted me a very high amount to fix two posts but does not provide the materials for the fix. These guys are supposed to be experts in STEEL gates but do not have the materials for STEEL. So what are they experts in? Subcontracting? Reselling gate install service? What irritates me is that he sprung this on me at the last moment the day before. Our conversation was that the quoted price includes labor and materials to fix except for the extra materials that are needed that are ALUMINUM which I purchased. The fact that he asked me to provide STEEL materials at the last possible moment was maybe because (a) he misquoted me or (b) the subcontractors wanted more money to do the work. In any case, I cancelled the job. I cannot trust a company that bait and switch. If you misquote, then you own the difference, not spring it on your customer at the last moment.

During removal of a fence post, their crew broke multiple patio pavers, displaced perimeter bricks, and exposed concrete footing. The on-site supervisor stated there was "no way" to remove the post without causing damage. That statement is inaccurate. This is the second time fencing has been replaced at this property, and prior licensed contractors performed the same work without damaging the finished patio surface. As a licensed California contractor performing work within an HOA community, California Fences is responsible for property damage caused during the course of work.
