Alonso was very helpful and available. I noticed once he was paid, he became "too busy" to handle some small matters. A year later, I noticed that the edges on the weed cloth were coming up. No tears, no rips from wind or anything. No sign of being tacked down. I called him and asked him to come take a look at the issue. It's been 3 months and he has not shown. We worked with Alonso and team to update the stairway in our backyard. The existing stairs were over 30 years old and needed to be fully replaced on a very steep slope. I sought several quotes for options, and Alonso's was the most competitive for his high level of experience and craftsmanship. Alonso was fantastic to work with- he collaborated with me on the vision, debating the merits of different types of materials and structures. We went back and forth for several weeks while we figured out exactly what we wanted to execute, and he sought outside research to make sure everything was appropriate for our exact situation. He provided images of what the stairs would look like and educated me on the pros and cons of different types of pavers and wood. We just finished a major project with Alonso and Golden Hills Landscape and are extremely happy with the work. We've got a very large (3,300 sq ft) side yard that is on a slope. For twenty years it was solid ivy, but then came droughts and deer, whom we let eat the ivy because they were hungry. Over a few years time, however, the slope became virtually dirt with all kinds of ugly weeds sneaking in. After weeding it twice (a huge job), we tried to figure out how to make it look good without spending a fortune. I wanted to lay down landscape fabric topped by bark that wouldn't be constantly sliding down. We began to talk with people. Alonso advised laying a very thick fabric that would be well-fastened down, and then topping that with a particular burlap fabric that would be effective at catching and holding the right kind of shredded mulch. He also recommended doing modest "terracing" by making several horizontal grooves that would help hold the landscape fabric and burlap. A big job, but I liked his vision the most of those we consulted, and we settled on a price. Alonso thought it would be a 3-day project, which turned out to be exactly right. The crews worked steadily and effectively, and we are beyond pleased with the result. All the way through, Alonso was easy and quick for communication, and his ability to oversee different workers for different tasks gave me great confidence. read more

BEWARE..... This is not a well run company. I called this company to come out and repair and paint my gate. This was done well enough. However, there was a fair amount of follow-up and reminders on my side to get the job done. I showed Victor a couple of additional items that I asked him to quote (fountain repair and paver cleaning and sealing). He quoted me $4k with half paid up front. From this point forward it was a nightmare. It was like he had no experience cleaning or prepping sandstone. He kept asking me about how to clean and prep and what products to use. He said that he had a lot of experience, but I didn't see it. He just wanted to seal the pavers, collect the remaining money and move on, but I would not let him. The pavers had dirt, mold and efflorescence that needed to be removed before sealing. Before he could finish, it rained for a few days and I haven't heard from him since....that was back on January 29th. I cannot recommend this company. They were not reliable, Victor was rarely on site, so oversight fell on me and they lacked the basic knowledge to do the work they agreed to do. As you can see in the pics. The grout repair was poorly done and the stone was not clean. read more

Alonso and his crew did a great job re-grading my front yard. They took off 4 or so inches and disposed of the many yards of dirt. It was a task I had initially tried to do myself, but after many hours of wrangling with a rented tiller and shoveling, it looked like we had barely made a dent. Alonso came by to take a look and he was very friendly and communicated well on the phone and via text. Gave a good price and was able to come do the work in just a week's time. When he arrived, I asked if he could expand the original work request to do some re-grading on the side yard as well. He was able to handle the change in plans and bring in an additional worker in order to get the job done on the same day (additional cost, of course). We would check in with the progress and give him guidance as things went along, since our request was a little vague. But he always did what we requested and completed the job in the time he quoted, and cleaned up well also. He and his team were very pleasant to work with.
