Terrrrrrrible service today and discriminatory behavior toward our elderly friend who we took to run an errand today. They did not complete his transaction and when they called later to validate what he had wanted they did not ask any cpni validation information to ensure they were speaking with the right person. So transaction was not completed, our friend now will face a penalty from the institution he was trying to send wire to and now we have to deal with RBFCU again. Terrible bank...can't wait to leave and go to SWACU. read more

4-2022 This place has great rates for auto loans, which is the reason I opened accounts here. I use the app to monitor and the servicing of my auto loan was hassel-free. After I made my last auto payment, the title was in my mailbox super fast. This branch location has a coin change machine but the fees keep going up. You do get a break if you are a RBFCU member. It's easy and convenient and the fees are still lower than at the grocery store so I keep using it. Great perk. Definitely check this out if you are looking for low rates. read more

I'm getting ready to close my accounts with this credit union. I went into the office to get the same documents that I've been notarized for years just for them to reject it. What changed? The notary says he will not notarIze it because my from said it needed my photo ID attached and it would be considered altering the document. When I questioned his decision, he got standoffish and couldn't even answer my question when I pulled up the Texas website. I will be turning him over to the Texas Department of Notary. read more

I dislike the fact that if you need to do business or mortgage loans, they don't have anyone present to assist. Everything must be done online or on the phone because apparently everyone who handles this type of service is at the San Antonio location. I prefer to conduct this sort of business in person. What's the point of having a branch here if you can't do anything other than basic banking? read more

RBFCU has been the worst credit union by far. I have great credit (740+), a steady white collar job with high pay, and a business checking account with them with plenty of money in it. I tried working with them on business lines of credit, a home mortgage, and a land purchase loan but in the end I had to work with other lending institutions because RBFCU was terrible to work with. I expected a better experience from a well known credit union. The only thing worth looking into at this credit union is the business checking account. read more

Technology kills this credit union. They literally are mouse-clicking away (on a game of Tetris) to get anything accomplished! Staff is less than stellar and if you cross them they will retaliate! Better institutions can be found in the area that actually appreciate their members! read more

If a negative star exists, I would have selected it. Here's why. A week ago I applied for an automobile loan online. Why did I choose them? They paid for some Google Adwords related to my search query. What you ask? I'll be honest... "Bad Credit (i.e, 650 credit score) Used Automobile Loan". I was logged into my Google account, so Dallas, TX was correctly assumed. Instantly approved, a RBFCU rep actually called me on the phone on Friday afternoon. Awesome, I thought. They said to come in a branch and open an account. Monday, I walk into this location and open a savings account by providing my drivers license, social security and giving them $2.00 cash. The branch manager tells me to sign into the kiosk and wait. Five minutes later, a nice Indian lady brings me into a sterile room and initiates a VOIP conference call with some dude in San Antonio. He's got a headset and it looks like a Skype phone call. Whatever... He says I'm approved and asks for the vehicle information. I give him a detailed invoice from the dealership. He asks me to wait several times as he confers with a supervisor or whomever. 30-45 minutes tick by. Apparently there is a problem that that my dealer provided paperwork does not say "Purchase Order" across the top. I tell him I can scratch out the word "Invoice" and replace with "Purchase Order". He laughs, I laugh; however, he sends me home. A day later, I return to this branch. My handling is the same. Branch manager logs me in, a nice African American male brings me into same sterile room. I feel like it's that movie on Ground Hog Day... He initiates a VOIP conference call with same dude in San Antonio. We recognize each other and laugh. My paperwork now says "Purchase Order" which I tender to him electronically. Several minutes (10-15) later he says my credit is a problem and they can't bank roll my $7,000 auto loan at 11.00% interest for 2 years (as approved day before). Nice. read more

I use this bank very regularly. I like the idea to stay away from the big banks because of their perception of invincibility. RBFCU has always given me great, friendly service. Their rates are great and they are conveniently partnered w 7-11 for ATMs with no fees. I recommend RBFCU and this particular branch, and hope that more people join credit unions in order to leave the too big to fail banks. read more

Great auto loan rates BUT BEWARE! I have had a savings account with RBFCU for a few years and decided recently to apply for an auto loan there because I was in the market for a used vehicle. Hands down, they have the best rates in town! The online application process was a breeze. HOWEVER...every step of the way after that is a sheer nightmare. I was approved the following day after applying and went car shopping. Within one day I located the vehicle, negotiated the price with the dealer and informed the dealership that I had pre-approved financing. After calling RBFCU, I was literally sent on a wild goose chase. Every time I would call, a representative would give me a different story. They needed my DL, SS Card, etc. The dealership faxed all requested documents (I personally watched the Sales manager fax the info). After calling RBFCU I was told that they did not receive the info at all. After contacting the sales manager, he emailed the requested info only for me to call back to RBFCU and be told that they did receive the info the first time...SMH After all of that, the loan had to go thru underwriting which took several hours. I was told that I would receive a call to finalize the loan once underwriting was completed. After waiting and waiting, I decided to call back a tenth time only for a representative to tell me that the underwriting had been approved hours ago but someone forgot to "push the button" to send the loan to final. After painstakingly sitting on the phone with the rep for almost an hour, it was all finally done and I took delivery of the car. I will never finance with RBFCU again. The time and hassle is not worth saving a few dollars every month. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. read more

I have been with this bank for a couple months, and I am closing it this week. After SEVERAL times of my account not processing transactions for days, I was charged several fees. When I spoke with a representative, or "supervisor" I was not treated as what a "member" should have been treated like, and they refused to remove the fees on my account. I have banked with several credit unions before and have had incredible experiences, with this one being the exception. They will never work with you for anything and after reading several reviews with the same issue as me, yelp has it right, "eek! Methinks NOTTT" .. read more

Beware of the NSF policy. I moved out of state earlier this year and have an active account but with a very low balance. I made a mistake when setting up an auto-payment and selected my old, RBFCU checking account. When the payment was returned due to NSF, RBFCU charged a fee to my account, bringing the balance negative. They attempted to resubmit the payment, which was again returned, and RBFCU charged an additional fee to my account. This was a complete error made by the customer, but for a loyal RBFCU member, they were completely unwilling to waive any fees. I have worked in banking for several years and never have I worked for a bank or held accounts with a bank that was unwilling to waive a fee. This serves as a great example of the lack of customer appreciation and service. RBFCU is certainly not a financial institution I would recommend doing business with. read more

My parents have a savings account and home mortgage loan through RBFCU in San Antonio, and they referred my husband and I to them for a auto loan as they have low interest rates. I called the RBFCU 1-800 # on a Thursday morning and spoke with a very nice man who told me we should apply online, then once approved, would need to open a savings account with $1 in it, and could do so online. So we applied Thursday evening, and on Friday morning my husband received a call saying we were approved for a phenomenal rate! The lady who called told my husband that I would need to physically go to a branch to sign the documents and open a savings account. We were never told by either of these people that BOTH my husband and myself would physically need to be present --- my 2 year old was super sick, so my husband stayed home with him and I went to the branch with my 5 year old. Olga was super friendly and very accommodating. When she told me that my husband needed to physically be there, I was very upset --- this was after a stressful 2 hour trip to the dealership to get my car. Long story short, she did everything she could for us and even entertained my 5 year old. We each have 800+ credit and RBCFU came through for us, thanks to Olga and several kind employees and we were able to take a check to the dealer that day. I would like to note that I did speak with a Kimberly (possibly last name of Hopkins) in the SA branch who was very rude to me on the phone, even cut me off while I was talking, and was the opposite of friendly and accommodating. She is the reason I took away a star from the rating. Everyone else was very kind. If it weren't for Olga, we would have taken our loan somewhere else and this rating would not be 4 stars. I have been a member with RBFCU for 7 years and am so glad they finally moved up to Dallas with me from San Antonio/Austin. I have never been treated so well and they always take care of me as a member. Credit Union that is always true to their word and will bend over backwards for their members. No credit Union in DFW is better and I can say that because I work for a independent finance/leasing company and I deal with most in the area.
