Such a nice little touch, and it was actually good. While looking over the menu, I also loved seeing that they offer senior citizen specials. I'm already looking forward to coming back with my mom--she loves fresh seafood! The biggest reason I'll be returning, though, is the seafood selection and the fact that you don't have to get everything fried. That is a HUGE plus for me. I ordered the blackened stuffed flounder, and it was packed with flavor and extremely fresh. The two sides I chose were delicious as well, (cheese grits, sweet potato) and the selection of sides on the menu is extensive, so there are plenty of options to choose from. I also ordered a glass of white wine, which came in the prettiest glass. The atmosphere is another thing I really liked. It can be slightly dressy or super casual, making it a great spot for different occasions. I also loved having both booth and table seating options. My friend and I had amazing service from start to finish. Between the prices, portions, service, ambiance, and flavor of everything we tried, this was an easy 5/5 stars for me. The sliders were very tender burgers, with wonderful flavor. We polished off our evening with another glass of champs & the crème brûlée...the perfect ending to a perfect meal!! Bonus points for early happy hour (Sat 2-6pm) and VERY fast service. We were out much quicker than expected so had time to enjoy the festive Christmas tree display directly across in the square. TIP: Parking took us a few loops, so factor in a few extra minutes in case your reservation is at a busy time. We split the Caesar salad and the New York strip with the Gorgonzola blue cheese topper. Both were excellent. The Manhattan was perfect, which immediately put everyone involved in my good graces. Cory was our waiter and was great -- cool, funny, attentive, and apparently an accomplished dessert salesman. He talked us into the bread pudding, despite the fact that neither of us needed bread pudding. Unfortunately, he was completely right. It was outstanding. The restaurant itself is also really cool, with several separate dining and drinking areas instead of one giant room, and the bar looked like somewhere I could very easily lose an additional hour. Valet parking made the whole downtown experience unusually painless. I still consider crossing the Intracoastal for dinner a significant commitment, but City Grill has officially become my go-to spot near downtown. Five stars.
