The owner's attitude was unnecessarily rude. The customer service was disappointing, there was no greeting, no smile, and not even a simple "thank you." I found myself being more polite than the staff, who maintained a very unfriendly demeanor throughout the interaction. I don't take it personally, but stores like Dinosaur, Tha Moa, RD Market, and Lotte consistently offer much friendlier service with staff who understand how to treat customers. At Dragon's, the owner also works as the cashier, and the checkout experience felt tense and uncomfortable. The woman working Saturday night the 15th shift was particularly unprofessional. Unfortunately, I will not be returning under any circumstances. The Skinny Vietnamese lady, I think she's also the owner. She is significantly friendlier and more welcoming than the rest of the staff. Despite working very hard, she still treats every customer kindly and respectfully. That is what true leadership looks like. The team could benefit from following her example. read more

This Southeast Asian supermarket is on the large size. There are so many varieties of frozen and packaged foods. I especially come here for the roast pork and roast duck. I stopped here when I was going to another store down the road and I happen to see it and I couldn't resist stopping in. Wow this place is large. They have a bakery, they have frozen food, they have all sorts of things. What they were missing was the usual dishes, they didn't have much of that and some thing that was very annoying is that there produce and some of the food well the prices are not marked. They also don't have plastic bags for you to put your produce in. So I just had to throw my handful of turmeric weights in my hand and carry them to the counter. From fresh seafood, to fresh veggies, condiments, snacks, etc. You name it, they have it all. The parking lot is a good size, so parking your car is not a hassle. The sevice is nice. Dragon Asian Supermarket officially opened for business on Friday (3.5.2021). This is a nice supermarket that offers most Asian produce and items. It has deli and bakery in the rear of the market offering Pastries, Desserts, Boba drinks, fresh squeezed Sugar Cane juice, and Sandwiches like Bahn Mi. I highly recommend their Sugar Cane juice as well as their Bahn Mi sandwiches. I ordered the Beef Bahn Mi and it was delicious; about the best Bahn Mi I've ever had. And their pastries are made in-house as well. I normally travel to Orlando just to get fresh made pastries that's readily available at Dragon Asian Supermarket. Now, I no longer need to. How convenient. The staff is super friendly, but you will encounter some language barrier with some staff as they speak really fast VietnaEnglish (is that a word?). I sounded like a broken Digital Media player asking them to repeat themselves again and again just in order for me to understand what they were saying. And yes folks, broken records is the thing of the past (hence the word Digital Media Player). And despite having an open-faced Seafood aisle, this market is clean, well organized and quite frankly smells great in comparison to the other Asian markets I have been to. We ordered the roast pork and roast duck in advance for Thanksgiving for the first time. The duck was fine, but the roasted pork was not what we ordered (Chinese siu yuk 燒肉), and as is advertised in all of their social media photos, etc. (not the puffy, bubbly crackling, but rather more like Filipino "lechon style" pork with crisp flat skin). The pork that we received was not prepared the same way as the pork hanging in the window or shown in photos. While we do like both preparations, this is not what was pictured, ordered or expected for this occasion. I called the store (Selena) and explained the situation (and informed her that we would not be serving the pork at our gathering). She offered to refund the cost of the pork, and we accepted. My problem is not with the items Dragon Asian Supermarket sells, they have some good items that I like to use. My problem with Dragon Asian Supermarket is every time I check out, particularly with the female employees, items are added onto my receipt that I know I did not buy. And there is always a vague description like "dry goods" which I know I did not buy. The male employees do not add items to my receipt, just the women. What kind of crappy business do you run? I always buy at least $200 of groceries, but you add vague items to my receipt to steal from me!?! This is not a one time thing either, I am just finally sick of it. I am not your customer any more. This is the newest Asian market that opened in Jacksonville. I think it's also the biggest and cleanest. They offer lots of different fruits and vegetables, dried goods, frozen food, raw meats and seafood (fish, shrimp, crab, crawfish, clams), rice bags, freshly cooked food, snacks and desserts (pork, duck, banh mi, banh bao, cakes, etc.) I like the wide variety of things they sell but their prices on some things are higher compared to other Asian stores in the same area (but with inflation rates everything is changing). The only thing I did not like about this place was the drive :) DAS saved the day since they were the only place in Jacksonville that had live crawfish at a decent price. Found out the seafood section was self serving though. Grab a bag, load up what you need and then ring the bell to have someone weigh it. Picked up some pork belly, lumpia and spring rolls. Thought the pork belly wasn't bad. The dipping sauce is good and I will ask for another one next time. My son enjoyed the lumpia although it was a bit too oily for me and the spring rolls was the least favorite. The sauce was interesting to say the least. I love coming to this supermarket! It's pretty bright and clean upon entrance and everything was organized. It didn't have an unpleasant stench like how other markets do. I took my parents here and they were able to find all the ingredients that they need! They offer a wide variety of snacks, drinks, seafood, meats, produce, noodles, sauces, frozen items, and many more! They even have a small deli/bakery where you can choose from sweet to savory pastries and macarons and little cakes! They also have banh mis (Vietnamese sub sandwiches) and so many types of che desserts! My eyes were glued on the roasted duck and pork! They both looked heavenly and delicious! I'm going to get some next time for sure! I've tried their banh mis, pork floss buns and also cream buns and all were delicious! My dad who loves sweets just as much as I do, enjoyed the pastries too! The customer service is awesome as well! Everyone was super sweet and offered help and recommendations as needed. My mom needed help finding something and the sweet lady behind the deli counter guided her to where she needed to go. Even the cashiers were pleasant and smiled every time I've been there! My latest around the world food tour line up consists of Mi Pueblo 2 for Latin/Mexican, Apna Bazar for Indian/Middle Eastern, and La Salsa a bit further on Beach Blvd for Asian goodies. As I did the first 2 stops and was on my way to La Salsa, I stumbled upon the magical words "Asian" and "Supermarket" on the same sentence while driving. Talk about life's joyful discoveries! To make it even more serendipitous, today is their grand opening. The icing on the cake is that they have an in house bakery, which my beloved La Salsa does not. I liked that of all the Asian stores I visited this one just barely opened & it had a lot of the stuff I needed but it was so so expensive! Coming from Southern CA & coming to FL man I sure miss SoCal resources! It's so expensive here for produce and groceries! I guess you have to give and take, gas price is insane in CA but surely I'm not gonna see $15 siriacha bottles nor $3.50 for garlic....or coconut juice a box of it was $50 in CA! It was hard to swallow see the cost of these items, the meat was so old wasn't fresh at all, they had produce that had molded....so tough running a business but at the end of the day I am glad I was able to find most of what I needed! It's ridiculous they have a $10 minimum just to use a credit or debit card. I know the fees can be bad but I've never been to an establishment that requires $10 ($5 sure, but never $10). It was the difference between making a sale and not making one. It was the difference between me being a returning customer and never going back. Would give it 3.5 stars but not possible on Yelp for half stars. Had high hopes for the place after reading the reviews but some things fell short during the visit. Lots of choices in snacks and staples. Produce section had a pretty good choice and fresh. Meat department had stuff I wanted to buy like beef shanks and chicken feet, but ended up not buying cuz it didn't look fresh at all. A lot of the pre packaged meat had dull looking color, looked old and ready to be trashed. The butcher was cutting some new meat so hopefully it will be replenished. There also is a seafood department and a stand for baked items and boba. Wish we had come a bit later cuz the roast ducks were not ready yet. Would have loved to try them. The roast items are only available on Fridays and Saturdays per the sign. read more
