Update: service was not good. They also haven't put any money into keeping the building up. They still have a ton of fresh seafood and offered fried entrees as well as steamed. Lots of selections and specials including a 3 pound headless shrimp that is quite a bargain. Plus, it is cleaned well already. The staff is very accomodating and friendly. This used to be one of my go to spots for fresh seafood rather I want to cooked or take it home and cook it later. After a recent visit, I can truly change either ownership or change your management I was told it would be a charge to cook seafood that wasn't on the new increased price board menu. Ok fine will cook snow crab at home. I ordered to go a cat fish and shrimp plate. I don't recall saying hold the seasoning but it was missing. I told my daughters of my recent experience and they agreed something had changed. Well I can say I will not be back. I can go to Publix or other fish markets closer to home. read more

We got the steamed blue crabs, steamed shrimp and crawfish boil, everything was cooked and seasoned very well. The spicy seasoning in the crawfish boil wasn't too spicy just enough and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. There's so many different items on their menu. I went on a Friday and luckily they were not busy. I created my own boil with crawfish, shrimp head on and crab cluster. This also included corn and red potatoes, you have a choice of your spice level. I selected garlic butter and all my selections came out steaming hot. They had a great selection of seafood with decent prices. Their prices were normal for the food, but they had croaker which I couldn't find anywhere. I know snapper is big in FL, but I'm still a NC/SC girl. I opted for the croaker, a pound of stone crab claws, the whiting dinner with hush puppies, and a side of okra. The food was just okay. The fish was fried extremely soft and lacking flavor. The crab claws were good tho. The service was awesome! The lady at the front was phenomenal, which is why I'm giving three stars instead of two. The cook gave me my food and forgot my okra, so that added a bit of a wait-and if you eat fried food, you know every second counts in a styrofoam box. Walked in here due to some good reviews.... Nah it's not it. Turned right around. First of all, nobody greeted us, just got some stares. Second was looking at the fish and not only does it reek and not in a fresh seafood kind of way, but nobody was wearing gloves. YUCK. I called immediately after I returned home to complain about my purchase and both the male and female yelled uncontrollably stating they were ok and I was wrong?!?! And, they refused to refund. Not quite sure I understand the negative reviews here but to each its own! Love this place. We stick to typical items such as crabs, oysters, and shrimp. Ms. Linda is awesome! We never have issues and frequent quite often. If you're buying fish - always look at the eyes - hence I don't buy fish here too often. Other than that, they are priced well. We stopped in on a Monday evening to pickup live blue crabs. We were greeted after a few mins and we asked to see a sample of small Med large size blue crabs. We ended up getting 2 doz of the large sizes. They were all very good size and color. We cooked them immediately after getting home. They were excellent. Place is a joke!!!! I drove 20 mins 3 times and they never once had the order ready. I was doing a favor for someone and picking up on their behalf all three times and i watched her place the order. Yet Everytime I show up it's not ready. Cross contamination at its best! They have masks on but no one is changing gloves. Just horrible! Expect to wait 45-60 mins longer tha they tell you. I made the trek from the beach to Jackie's during a torrential thunderstorm to get live blue crabs. Man, was it ever worth the effort. I got a dozen of the most glorious blue crabs you ever did see. The service at Jackie's was friendly and informative. At home, we cooked 'em up (the crabs that is) and had a feast. The were full of sweet, juicy meat. In a word-- sublime! Stone crabs were awful. They had been frozen or not stored properly. They were in shreds and stuck to the shells. Nothing edible. Low country boil would have been good except for the yellow goo they poured over it, And the sausage slices were so salty they were inedible. With the garlic crab tray I've adopted making my own sauce at home and spare myself the aggravation of depending on their sauces. It's oily and bland..even after paying for Xtra butter :(.. taste like generic margine with cheap garlic powder..Gave it 2 stars because the crab sizes are decent but not jaw dropping.. The first time I went in the lady was talking to me like I was stupid , I had to explain it was my first time in and I wasn't sure how things were priced and signs went helpful. I have been wanting to see if this was a great place to get seafood. I had heard great things about Jackie's. I really anticipated great local seafood available. Boy was I disappointed. They only had local shrimp, and very little of that. Everything else was imported. They were busy, so I guess the seafood is good?? They seemed pricey, so I'm not sure what the fuss was about if they just had what the supermarkets were offering. I did get some dungeness crab which is a delicacy I wasn't expecting, so that was good, but it's in season so I probably could have gotten that from Winn-Dixie or Publix too, haven't checked it out. This is a new seafood market store . Inside is clean and you can feel the fresh air .I bough fresh blue crabs , shrimp and fish here yesterday for my home party , everybody thumbs up ! Man, this place is really nice. The owner is very nice and down to earth. They have great hospitality. He was really friendly. The whole staff was actually nice. He offered a lot of deals and was willing to cook live crabs and everything. I like how close they are to me. The crabs were good too. Very displeased with the service today. Normally I choose the fish that I am buying however today the guy just started throwing fish in the pan. When I told tried to show him what fish I wanted he told me that they are the same size and went to the scale. Another co worker tried to give him the fish that I picked out. He refused and continued to weight the fish.
