This place is a small seafood restaurant you really can't eat inside it's just for pick up and heat them up at home in your microwave or however you like. Mom and Pop shop. I think it's an older couple and I've met them both they were very nice when I go there. So I definitely think they have good service I've been a few times now it's great for something to pick up when you want some seafood to eat at home. The taste of the butter and stuff is pretty good you can add some of your own stuff if you like other seasonings at home which I do. read more

I had this marked on you for a while, I finally was in that area around dinner time last week. I was really thrilled with the service, the food in my conversation with the owner I got a little of his background and how he runs his business. I've seen this model at other stores, where they put seafood in a to go container and you take it home to heat it up in the microwave. Since Yara has been around for a while, I'm pretty sure other restaurants are copying His model. But I can tell you, that my family was thrilled when I brought home food that was absolutely packed the top of the container and once warmed up tasted fabulous. I dare you to eat a whole container at one sitting, it took me three to get through mine and each time it tasted just as good as the last. I've only gotten one thing, which was the king crab legs, but other options that are available. And this location is certainly one of those don't judge a book by its cover, because it doesn't look very nice on the outside, and inside it doesn't look that much better. But I don't know how good you need to look when you serve food like this. read more

Yaras has been around for yeeeears, so that alone should speak for itself considering the amount of competition that has popped up around Jax. It's an unpretentious little shop that I would absolutely consider one of Jacksonville's hidden gems. The owners are so kind and welcoming, which in my opinion, really adds to the experience. Additionally, prices have always been, and still are very affordable for the amount of food that you get. Garlic shrimp, snow crab, blue crab.. you really can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Was in town for grad and didn't want to drive across town to the place I knew so I decided to try the place closest. It was about 10 minutes from the town center area. I called ahead and only waited about 5-10 minutes when I got there. I really enjoyed my crabs. They were cooked well and seasoned well. They weren't the biggest but they were decently meaty so it was worthwhile for me. I opted for the crab only tray for 15.99 and I think the price was well worth it. I'm glad to have found another place in the area and will definitely visit again. read more

Another Yara Seafood that's pretty close to my home. It was Friday and I was weighing my options for dinner. Did I really want takeout delivered or could I just pick it up? Should I wait an hour and pay upwards of $6 plus a processing fee? Nah, not this time. A friend reminded me that there was this place on Beach Blvd where I could get my Friday seafood fix for less than delivery. Yay! So I hopped in my car and drove over to the shopping center wondering if it would be any different than the other Yara location on Spring Park Rd. It's in a little shopping center with a tattoo parlor, a nail salon, and a hair salon. The place closes at 7:30 on Fridays and the line was almost out the door. The place looked pretty run down like they've been there awhile and slightly cluttered but as long as my food was stored and prepared correctly I was ok with that. The husband and wife (I believe?) were doing their best to crank out orders and we customers were very patient. I got the Garlic Snow Crab Combo tray like I usually do for comparision. It's all the same items: Snow Crab clusters, shrimp, potatoes, sausage, an egg, and a section of corn smothered in garlic butter sauce and mild seasoning. The only difference here is that they gave me 3 crab clusters when I'd normally get only two. Still everything was very good and I'd go back for more. read more

the owner is like family to me and my family. the location isnt one of these fancy fly by night spots but the food is always fresh and my tray is full the seasoning is on point and it doesn't smell fishy like the other places in Jacksonville. I didn't like it... I want my seasoning throughout the meat and everything not sitting on top. The flavors were good though. I'm not a huge margarine fan but my husband was pleased so that makes me happy. His complaint was that his food was cold. But he nuked it and lived happy lol. read more

I discovered Yara's a month ago, and since then I have probably been there ten times. I live in the town center so I usually have to travel quite a bit for a good tray but this place has exceeded all of my expectations! The food is always fresh, well seasoned, a healthy portion and at a great price. I always get the 20 piece shrimp with egg, corn, potato and sausage and it is literally the best garlic tray I have had and on top of that the owner is personable. I have literally referred so many people to this place and everyone loves it. For me personally it isn't a big deal but there is no sitting area to eat your food so you order and go. And this is a small little spot, a tad bit run down. you have the option to have your food warm or cold. I usually get mine cold because I lost all the good sauce when driving home one day. Blah. But when it comes to price I promise you won't find it better anywhere else, not even cooking it at home! read more
