I arrived at Tire Man and explained the situation to the counter person wearing a white shirt who looked like a manager, and he said they would take care of it. I see people commenting on Yelp how great this business is and how they repair/patch tires often without charge. Well, they charged me $30. I was not offered or provided with a receipt. The very next day, May 23, 2026, I was out driving and the tire warning light came on. I took it to the nearest tire shop, which was in Camarillo. They examined the tire and sprayed it with some solution and showed me that the tire/patch job that Tire Man had done was leaking air. Furthermore, they explained that 1) they would never charge for a patch and 2) a patched tire can't be re-patched for the same puncture. This was after 2pm on Saturday and Tire Man was closed. It's Saturday before a long weekend and lots of tire places are closed, closing or don't have the tire(s) I needed in stock. And I absolutely needed the car for a weekend trip to Paso Robles. So, the tire shop in Camarillo filled the tire up and called shops around T.O. and located a shop that had a replacement tire that would work. I drove to America's Tire in Thousand Oaks. They had a random one-off tire they could sell me, but explained that could and probably would set off the Audi Quattro traction control system. They strongly advised I buy two matching tires (albeit it not the original spec tires on the car, which neither they nor anyplace keeps in stock). So, I ended up buying two new tires from them for $1170. Tire Man incompetently performed a faulty repair/patch that failed (and evidently didn't check the quality of their own repair or they would have detected that it was still leaking air). I have had tires on various cars patched over the years, and this is the first time a patch fails. I returned to Tire Man to discuss with owner/manager Carey, who asked me to see the patched tire (as if I'd be driving around with a dirty, leaking unmounted tire). He basically told me to pound sand.

I called this America's tire location and they were willing to stay open a little bit later just help me out. I got my car towed over there. They replaced both tires, and I also upgraded all of my rims in the matter of 20 minutes. This is the only time I've ever gone to a tire place where they were able to do such a fast turnaround time. Not only that but because I had America's Tire insurance upgrade from before, the value of the replacement didn't break the bank. The people who helped me was Joseph, Omar, Jeffrey and Ivan. The official recommended tire pressure for this vehicle is 42 PSI. Unbelievably, the technicians inflated my tires to a staggering 62 PSI! To make matters worse, the maximum cold pressure rating molded on the tire sidewall is only 50 PSI. They inflated it a full 12 PSI past the tire's own absolute safety limit! This is not just a minor oversight; it is an egregious and incredibly dangerous mistake. Driving a Tesla at 62 PSI felt like driving on rocks. It could have easily caused a high-speed blowout, catastrophic suspension damage, or a serious accident due to reduced traction. This level of gross negligence shows a complete lack of basic training. If you care about your car and your life, avoid this place.

The front desk team was highly confident in their capabilities, but unfortunately, the actual alignment job tells a completely different story. I have adjustable control arms and suspension correction brackets. Instead of properly utilizing this adjustable hardware to dial in an alignment, the tech performed a basic "toe-and-go" job. They over-cranked my front caster just to force the machine's screen into a factory "green" range, which pushed my front camber out and will aggressively shred the outer shoulders of expensive off-road tires. Worse yet, they signed off on a crooked rear axle. Because of this massive miss, the vehicle literally crab-walks down the highway. Because the standard machine screen tells technicians that a factory rear end isn't adjustable, the tech completely ignored my highly visible, fully adjustable aftermarket rear links. While they offer a warranty to fix it, an alignment shouldn't require a second trip just to get the basics right. Handing a customer a vehicle with tire-shredding camber and a crooked thrust angle is a massive oversight. Intentional or not, the only party that benefits from letting a vehicle leave with tire-wearing alignment specifications is a tire shop looking to sell a replacement set of rubber sooner than necessary. If you have a stock commuter car, they can likely handle it. If you have a lifted truck or aftermarket adjustable suspension geometry, skip this shop and take it to a dedicated chassis specialist who understands geometry, not just color-coded computer screens.

After that, they told me that two of the tires they installed were the wrong size and asked me to come back within three days to have them replaced. At that point, I was already frustrated with the wasted time and the need to return. I came back on Tuesday as instructed. The employee who helped me seemed unsure and told me it would take about an hour to confirm if they could fix the issue. After waiting 2 hours, I finally got my vehicle back. As soon as I got on the road, the car started shaking badly, so I had to return again. They rebalanced the wheels, which took another hour. By then, I had already spent around 6-8 hours dealing with this. A week later, I discovered that all four tires were losing air. On top of that, the TPMS system was not programmed correctly, and my dashboard showed incorrect tire positions. I tried going to other Pep Boys locations, but every time I was told the minimum wait time was 2 hours. Given how much time I had already lost, I couldn't afford to keep missing work. I called the company directly, explained the situation, and they scheduled me at a location near my home. I showed up at 8 AM for my appointment, only to be told the technician wouldn't be available for another 2 hours. At that point, I gave up and went to another tire shop, where they helped me immediately. Overall, I will go anywhere else for tire service but Pep Boys. Work Order: 221838 Initial Diagnostic: A/C blowing hot air due to a leak Recommended Resolution: Remove and replace A/C compressor, then recharge Outcome: Not resolved Despite four separate visits, the issue remains exactly the same as the A/C still blows hot air. After so many attempts, I asked if I could receive a refund, and I was given two options: 1) Bring the car back again 2) Submit a claim I chose to submit a claim because, after four unsuccessful attempts, I no longer felt confident returning to the same shop. The claim has been submitted, and I am now waiting for a call from the inspector. I also had to contact Firestone Customer Service myself to obtain the claim number, as it was not provided to me by the shop. I understand that mechanical issues can be complex, but customer service should never be compromised. This experience has left me frustrated, inconvenienced, and without a functioning A/C system despite the time and money invested.
