This location is closest to our Venice Beach cottage. Just a straight shot on Venice Blvd. Parking was easy pezzzy street parking on a side street. I'm always specifically buying specialty items for my smoothies: that I make nearly every single morning. Which include types of spirulina or moringa powder, and cocoa nibs. Also, I prefer making my face masks myself, and buying them in powder form and switching depending on the seasons. And varying skin necessities. All these items I find here, at a great price and I get them exactly when I need them and don't have to wait around for an Amazon order to ship them. And there's something very satisfying about it being sustainable. You weigh your items and place them in ppr bags or your own containers. I absolutely adore being aware of our environmental impact. Finally, the service is fantastic, Laura is very patient and kind. With all of my weight scale questions lol. An experimental foodie life is so much more feasible with re_grocery in the neighborhood. Since moving out of Mar Vista, I've missed casually walking to re_grocery to pick up a variety of spices I need when trying out new recipes. You have to come see it! This is how grocery should be moving forward -- They sell in bulk and for reasonable prices! Some of them are known brands like Dr. Bronner's Castille soap. They sell shampoo, soaps, conditioners, laundry soap, olive oil, kombucha, avocado oil, chili oil, matcha, oats, grains, tofu. Even toothpaste! Without the wasteful containers. They sell a variety of reusable glass jars - the large one was just $5. The items have QR codes so you can read the origin of the product youre buying. Parking: There's free parking in the surrounding neighborhoods or along Venice Blvd. I love this place!! I went to the Highland Park location and was so excited when they said they were opening a location in Mar Vista! You can either bring your own jars and containers or you can buy glass jars there. They also have paper bags. If you bring your own, you scan a little tag, then out your jar on the scale and put the tag on it which records the weight. Genius! They have everything here! Any spices, cleaning solutions, loose leaf teas, dry pastas, smoothie bowl ingredients, oils, vinegars, everything. I usually buy white vinegar, tea, oats, and try something fun new like a chai powder or nutritional yeast. The employees are super nice and I can't wait for them to have a rewards program! read more

I like this place. Always clean and it's convenient. But. Prices are higher without the packaging. You can definitely get it for cheaper with packaging at a supermarket. Just saw the small sign that said they automatically tack on a 3% employees wellness to every order. Sooo . Customers come in and provide own packaging, serves up item themselves, takes to counter and then charged an extra 3% for doing so. If the owner of the boutique is having a difficult time paying employees then maybe that owner should spend time working in the store to defray overhead costs. But lately it seems that owning a business is much more sexy when you don't have to actually work behind the counter. read more

Staff is super friendly and helpful! Products are awesome and all-natural! I buy my loose-leaf tea, face wash, lotion, and hair products here and whenever I get the chance I try to expand my shopping list at this place! The only reason I gave it 4-stars was because they close at 7 and I swear they use to close at 8 in the evening... I love this store! They have a wide variety of household supplies, groceries and self-care products. They frequently offer new products, so it is fun to go in and see what else you can buy here instead of from the store or Amazon. Their prices are competitive and they frequently have sales. I don't know why it's taken me so long to write this review! I am obsessed with this store - the concept, the products, the location, the vibe - it's amazing. I love that there's a store nearby that you can bring your own containers to refill so you can cut down on plastic waste. I will say that their website doesn't perfectly reflect their available products, so on your first visit just bring a bunch of containers and prepare to peruse! My staples are baking soda, white vinegar, dishwasher pods, toothpaste tablets, olive oil, salt and granola. And they just started taking plastic bags/film that I'd normally take to Target (thus saving me a Target trip) to recycle! I don't know her name, but the woman who works on weekends (I think!) is so sweet and helpful. She always brings a treat out to my waiting dog while I'm shopping :) And the store itself is super clean and well-lit. I love re_grocery and everything they're doing to help our planet. The revolution will not be containerized!!!! The amount of waste we as a nation consumed thru packaging alone is insurmountable. This is a spot that fights the status quo. I really hope it can survive corporate competition because if this were the norm then we wouldn't be filling our bins and "recycling" bins with excess trash. We'd just get the contents and be on our merry way. Really cool concept. Bring your containers, weigh them, tag them, the weight is taken off at the end and you're charged for the product--not packaging. It's the most sanitary and well kept store I've ever been in. The staff are all super helpful and kind. The patrons know what's up. Hope the concept spreads but I'm wary in our capitalistic greedy culture I'm wary of how that might go. Amazing amazing place. They have all kind of foods, snacks, & ingredients (oats, cooking oils, protein powders, noodles, baking ingredients, spices), cleaning products, kitchen utensils, makeup.... so many essentials. Tons of vegan products. It's amazing to be able to bring your own containers and have a clean, peaceful, and super convenient place to get stuff in bulk, plastic-free, and sustainably. I only have one piece of advice for store owners/managers if you see this: I lived down the street for a couple months, and in Venice since it opened, and never knew what the store was!! If I had known, I would have been coming there since it opened. Even when I peeked in while it was closed I was confused. It's a super innovative store that I wouldn't expect in the area, so more signs and/or ways to notify people that it's a grocery store focused on sustainability! I noticed a new sign on the sidewalk the other day which was an awesome idea Ps. The people who work there are super kind and friendly too I even left my brand new headphones there and was devastated but in the morning when I called they had found them and held them for me to pick up the next day and were so sweet about it read more

If you live in the neighborhood, you must check this place out. Plant-based Protein powder in bulk - cancel your Costco membership! I live a block away and now I will never move away...this is an environmentalist's dream! I shall never buy boxed/bagged food again. Wooo. The dealio is you can bring your own containers or buy paper bags/glass jars. Need a pinch of cardamom and not a whole jar? Bulk store = buy as little/as much as you want. Every pantry product and even kombucha, vingears, oils, honey, agave ON TAP. Tofu IN BULK. A great loose leaf tea selection. Cleaning/body products on tap as well. I'm looking forward to trying their superfood latte mixes containing mycelium. Check out their website with all their products. Even dry textured protein and oat milk powder of which both I had to try and will be buying more. (Note, for mixing any powder with milk, a blender/whisk is advised to avoid chunks.)
