We love Bison and Elk and Venison, but have a hard time finding it and when we do, it is usually not very good. Such is not the case with Wild Fork in Venice. This nicely sized store has everything you might want in the way of meat and fish. They have great fish. We have had their Elk, Bison and Venison all made up as burgers with these great rolls we got right there. It is all great. We are now regular customers. The service is excellent. They know about everything they carry and go out of their way to explain things. The place is just so bright and pretty. It is so very clean and it is easy to find what you want. They have some of the best steaks we have ever had, the marbling being perfect. We also love their lobster. And all of this is at a fair price. Go there. read more

I have past here many times and it is basically a frozen butchery. I thought there would be actual butchers cutting to order and a live seafood service, but that is not the case. The place is spotless inside and well stocked, and the location is right at Washington and Lincoln on the corner with plenty of parking. I was the only person in the place and they have plenty of friendly help. As a first time customer, I purchased the gourmet Salsa ($5.48), Surimi Sticks ($3.98), two Rib Eye Steaks ($23.21) and the Beef Hot Dogs at $5.00 per package. I have not used the items yet, but everything looks great from a presentation standpoint and I get the feeling it will be fine. This market is absolutely amazing. I have never seen a nicer set up and the place is so clean you really could eat off the floor. Things are easy to find. All items are frozen because some of what they offer really needs to be, deer, for example. They have meats you will not find anywhere else, and the prices are super fair. We first went there because out St. Bernard must eat a lot of food and is ever so picky. We have always made her food fresh every day, but one day she decided, this steak is not for me, burger, shove it. She even refused chicken. I went on line and talked to friends who said get her deer, and kangaroo. Okay, so I searched and found Wild Fork. I ordered on line because I had no idea they were down the street from me. We cooked it up and she is eating again. We then went there and had the best service you can imagine. Fila knew everything from fat content to calories. We bought Elk, Kangaroo, chicken with all the parts in it, Bison and Venison. Heidi, the dog is in heaven. It all looked so great, we decided to try it. Bison burgers are great. Venison burgers are great. I did not love the Kangaroo, but my husband did and the Elk is just so tasty. And all of it is healthy and you can freeze it for months or just defrost and cook. We can't wait to try their seafood and steaks, but right now it appears we are on the dog's diet. We could not be happier with this place and now go every week. Came here a few days ago and the place was clean, organized, and the associates working there were really friendly and were really into what they had and that made the experience fun. LOOOOOVE wild fork. Great rib eye aged steaks. I had doubts at first since all their products are frozen but the quality is not diminished according to my taste buds. They apparently "flash freeze" it. I also get chicken, scallops and shrimp, all of which are wild caught (minus the chicken.) This is a brightly lit market with the most helpful and friendly employees. They have so many options that are sustainably sourced and organic. Everything is frozen. We spotted Wild Fork on our first day back in MdR and were quite curious. A couple of days later, we stopped in to check out the place. Wow! The store is brightly LED-lit, including the cases. Meats and seafood are mostly flash frozen and cryrovac'ed. Beef, poultry, pork, lamb, veal, and game meats, plus seafood. We returned two days later and picked up 6# of bone-in veal osso buco -- excellent value at $12 per pound, and hard to find elsewhere. I really like their Respect for the Planet. Service here is outstanding. Every associate we encountered was friendly and helpful. No problem parking behind the store with access from both Lincoln and Washington. read more

Terrible service; okay food. We've purchased a few items from Wild Fork. Everything is just okay. Not bad but not great, either. Most of the prepared meals are a little bland, but nothing that some salt and pepper and other spices can't help season. The seafood is okay. I like having the frozen portions to add to a salad or a side dish for lunch or dinner during the week. Reasonable prices, too. My one star is for the rude and totally uncalled for rant and behavior of Lalle, who we had the misfortune of having as our checkout person. We waited behind a line of two parties, and there were people behind us in line, too. It was a busy afternoon for this small store. The other checkout person was helping a lady with a large order, so that took awhile. We went up to the counter to pay for our 5 items. I went to enter my phone number, and Lalle told me to wait, she wasn't ready yet. So I waited. The screen cleared to take our order, and I entered my info. She's scanning the items and I put my credit card into the machine to pay. Lalle told me to wait. All of the items must be scanned first, she said. Fine. I waited. Then she goes into a rant to my boyfriend about impatient customers who browse the store for two hours, then who are in such a big hurry to pay and leave, going on about how they spent all this time in the store, and then rushing to pay. So she's dissing me to my boyfriend right in front of me, while I'm trying to efficiently pay for my items and leave. We'd been there about 15 minutes total, too, not two hours. This is a tiny store. Even if you looked at everything in the entire store 10 times, it wouldn't take 2 hours. Every other grocery store from TJ's to Sprouts to Ralph's allows you to put in your card as items are being scanned. No one cares. I had pulled out my card and didn't re-enter it, and it approved the transaction at the end, so it apparently didn't matter. We aren't familiar with your very slow system, Lalle, and I didn't need a lecture from you while shopping in your store. I'll make a point of avoiding your line in the future. Stopped by this new market whose opening was about 4 months ago. Wild Fork Foods was founded in 2017 by JBS USA Holdings, Inc., a meat processing company and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Brazilian multinational JBS S.A., the largest meat packer in the world. Every item in the store is frozen, but a reason in my opinion is that the store has so many different options that the shear number of choices requires the store to conserve palatability. They use flash freezing, the way they freeze all their products. Their frozen salmon, the large frozen piece, was excellent once defrosted and grilled in foil with onion, lemon and spices. Key- don't over cook. There is everything from rabbit to ravioli, alligator to quail, pizza to pork tenderloin, black sea bass to tomahawk beef steak, and foie gras to cheese empanadas which will guarantee there is something for everyone. Due to the special freezing techniques defrosting is easy for most meats, poultry and fish. Per instructions, if an item is up to 1.5 lbs place in cold water with the plastic wrap on for up to 1.4 hours. Larger items up to 2.5 hours or just place in fridge for the next day or two. Prices are reasonable and there is a free parking lot. They have several locations. What this place also is- an eclectic high end grab and go! read more

This is a great place to get regular meats, unusual cuts of regular meats (eg whole tomahawk of beef ribeye or massive roasts), and unusual meats like buffalo, venison, quail, alligator, ostrich, and others. The quality is great; everything is frozen but tastes fresh when thawed. Pricing is rather reasonable. The store is really well organized and spotlessly clean. Glad they opened one near my Costco in The Marina. Went in and saw a HUGE INVENTORY! All the meat and seafood is flash frozen and you don't have to buy in huge amounts like Costco. Plus, they have exotic game like ground Wild Boar, Buffalo and Elk steaks, Venison, etc. Great prices too -- you'd expect to pay way more for these cuts. I bought some flounder and a pound of crawfish tails which are difficult to find elsewhere. It's similar to a Trader Joe's frozen section but way bigger and with more variety. While visiting from Washington, my friend cooked up some dishes from Wild Fork and I was hooked! If you're a pescatarian like me, you will have so many choices of both prepared dishes and filets. If you're new to the concept, nearly everything (95%?) in the store is flash frozen. Most are quite the variety of meats and poultry. However the seafood section takes up about 15% of the store. There are also vegetable dishes, side dishes, smoothie mixes and desserts. Take a look online for their inventory. All the bins are well labeled and I only found one item that was out of stock. The staff was very congenial, allowing me initially to browse, but also being available for questions later. As others have mentioned, this is a bit like the Costco's frozen section, just with smaller packages, slightly higher prices per unit but dare I say, better tasting products. read more

Their meat and other products are decent and shipping was reliable for a while, but they were not trustworthy with their promises. We thought we would give them a chance years ago and at the time they were begging us to refer new customers, but I guess things change, when someone decided to save few bucks. So uh yeah it's erewhon or bobs market for me since this place can't get their act together with basic spelling of famous cities in the USA. (Bobs market has the best porterhouses for $50 in Los Angeles. I'm sure Costco is even better they at least post hours and can spell basic cities. At this moment, I'm very frustrated. I've had one tenderloin I bought for New Year's Eve. It was good, so I went back to the Venice, CA store to purchase more meats on Sat. January 4, 2025. Today I tried to call them to ask a question using the phone number on my receipt. Weirdly, it's their Winter Park, FL location. There were various other local phone numbers supposedly theirs, but none connected to the store; even the one listed on YELP. It's a relatively new store, so it should be accurate. It's not. I looked for their store locator and it lists the same number as on the receipt. I called FL again and after being on hold for nearly 15 minutes, they disconnected me. I've been waiting for this location to open. Decided to buy something I've never cooked before just for the fun of it. Quail! I got the package that had the backbone removed. I let them thaw in the back of my fridge overnight as recommend. I patted the tiny things dry, rubbed with olive oil, sprinkled on salt, pepper and dried thyme and cooked at 400 degrees for 13 minutes. Package says 15 minutes for a regular oven and I know air fryers cook things faster. They were absolutely delicious. I think the taste of the meat is similar to turkey thigh meat but the texture is finer. I can't wait to try pheasant! read more
