I prefer to stay away from the large yoga chains and Reach is a perfect spot (independent, woman owned). They have a variety of heated classes, I like the vinyasa flow but they also offer sculpt and yogalates. The classes are creative and never boring. There are MANY Sculpt Yoga teachers who don't understand how the body works under weight. There is a difference between dancing with a 2# weight and assuming that's safe for people with an 8# weight or more. When it comes to Reach, James Phillips is the best for sculpt. He knows his stuff. He knows movement. I've been a sculpt fan for 10+ years. James' classes blend yoga with weighted movements in a safe, natural way. If you're thinking of Yoga Sculpt, think of James. Fair warning: Don't let my notes about his practice being "safe" make you think these classes are easy. The best yoga studio in the whole world! Every instructor is so talented and kind and I have never had a bad class here. From yin to vinyasa to power to sculpt, YOU CANNOT GO WRONG! The new infrared heaters are really nice and the cool lavender towel on the forehead during shivasana is always a really nice touch too! Highly recommend :) Also to my comment before about not much parking, I should clarify that parking is really not an issue. While there are not many spots in the lot immediately in front of the studio, there is tons of street parking and you can park in the Wells Fargo lot after 5pm. In A Nutshell: -I signed up for a drop-in vinyasa flow yoga class here at Reach Yoga while I was in the area. -It was a nice 7am class to jump start the day. -The class ended up being a hot yoga class (which I don't mind b/c I go to at least one a week). -My mat was placed directly under one of the infrared heating elements so I enjoyed a nice sweat along w/ a great session. -The session focused a lot on our core & balance which was terrific. -I liked our instructor, Dana, she is very kind & knows what she is doing. -The studio is a decent size, it's dark w/ plenty of mirrors too. Overall, they also do paddle board yoga & other classes. If you live locally or just passing through like me I would sign up for a yoga class. read more

*Reach Yoga* is in the heart of PB off of Garnet. I took a class last May and did the Candlelight Yoga class. Then I came back in August and tried their Sculpt class. I came on and off and more recently I did the unlimited membership last month. Other classes I tried and enjoyed include: Vinyasa 2, Power Flow, Candlelight Vinyasa Flow, and Relaxed Candlelight Flow. I love each of their classes here and the added heat! My most favorite instructors here include: Shelley, Matt, and Alena. Sculpt, Vinyasa 2, and Vinyasa Flow are my favorites. The front desk staff are friendly and welcoming. There are a few restrooms which comes in handy when coming straight from work and needing to change. I love the positive energy from the teachers here who help to also correct form and they great playlists. The nice touch of lavender towels at the end is pretty sweet. The studio is clean and has smaller and bigger cubbies for your belongings and shoes. Parking can be a challenge sometimes, but overall not too bad finding street parking. The challenge and variety of classes help to give me the push I need along with the benefits of heated yoga. 5 Stars.~ read more

I have taken many yoga classes at this location in PB and it has to be my favorite yoga studio in San Diego. I have classpass and attended classes through that. Parking in PB can be pretty tough but we are usually able to find street parking. All of the instructors that I have had were great. The front staff and facilities are great. The popular times can get really busy though and I have found that some classes are completely packed and there are a lot of people in the room. However, my favorite thing is the lavender towels that they provide after a class. It is so refreshing and is honestly what I am looking forward to the most. Highly recommend this studio! read more

Not only does reach have a broad range of class offerings (slow flow, vinyasa, power, and sculpt), but the teachers at Reach are as amazing as the community they have cultivated. Having practiced yoga a few times, I was eager to branch out and experience other studios in Pacific Beach. I attended a vinyasa, or flow, class which focused on creating smooth transitions between poses while supporting emotional and mental health. The class was heated, which I felt increased my flexibility and aided in ridding my body of toxins. This studio offers both flowing and strength-training classes. The best part of Reach Yoga is the variety of classes aimed towards beginners, as well as intermediate and advanced students. Reach Yoga not only builds strength, balance, and flexibility, but also teaches students how to relax and refocus their energy. The studio itself was in need of some minor floor repair and the room quickly filled up! While there are a few yoga studios in the area, Reach offers intimate classes at a much lower price then surrounding studios! read more

Can I just say lavender-scented towels? I took a yoga sculpt class here recently. I have never taken yoga sculpt before so I don't have much to compare it to, but I can truly say this class kicked my butt! When I first walked into the room I was surprised to feel how warm it was. I think they incorporate hot yoga, cardio, and weights into this work out. You never stop moving and the class really pushes you. And at the end of class it is all worth it when the instructor brings you a nice, cool, moist lavender-scented towel while you close your eyes and relax. It's the best feeling! If you decide to do yoga sculpt here, bring lots of water and a towel because you will definitely be sweating. You will be very proud of yourself, but very sore! read more

Loved this studio! I only took two classes (R2 & flow by Kelly & Michele, respectively). Both teachers had fantastic energy & both offered a bit of spiritual prose at the beginning & end of class, a part of yoga that is often left out these days - thank you for that! Great studio, I love the slow relaxing evening class. Makes me sleep like a baby afterwards. Marie is a great teacher. Very interactive and helps gives individual correction. Oh, and sometimes she places a lavender soaked wash cloth over your eyes during shavasana. Such a game changer, that should be in every class! If you go to this studio, DO NOT PAY FOR CLASSES DIRECTLY THROUGH THEM. Sign up with ClassPass or something! Because like other reviewers have said, their membership payments are so misleading. They don't email receipts after autopayments. They don't email notices that a payment is coming up You have to cancel over email 30 days in advance of your next monthly payment date (which is different than the date the charge goes through with your bank). They said they're not set up to send those kind of notices when I asked. I've been to both better and worse yoga studios in terms of the class quality, but this one has the worst membership plan setup. What business doesn't tell you about the payments you make? read more

AVOID THIS PLACE! They gave my YOGA MAT away to someone else ! I let my friend borrow my yoga mat and she had to leave early so she left it at the front desk. ( with my name ) The front desk "mistakingly " gave it to someone else with out asking a name. The mat belonged to a family friend and was a great brand. Last year this place was great. Something happened where it all went down. The place is incompetent, customer service is terrible. They don't reply to emails. The place gets overly crowded , they don't have more than one room. It's crowded because they don't cap their attendance per class so it's just horribly crowded. read more

I am so disappointed to have to do this. However, I don't believe being a yogi involves losing one's hearing. The basics of a good sculpt class are the movements that students are able to hear clearly, supported by some good music at a reasonable volume as an enhancement to the moves. Too loud music and the instructor shouting above it can't disguise the zero thought put into today's 4:30 pm class, which 3 people left at about the halfway mark. Reach Yoga, you are becoming cliche by putting the needs of the staff above the safety and health of your students. Please stop the madness. read more

Let me start this by saying I have never been a fan of exercise or the gym. I decided to head to Reach for a class and was INSTANTLY in love. I have not missed a single class Monday- Friday for the last week and a half. I even did I double day. Most of you won't find that impressive but if you knew me personally, your jaw would be resting on your toes. Everything about this studio feels like home. The scent of relaxation fills the air as soon as I walk in, the sweet smiles behind the desk always greet me with a genuine hello, and the classes challenge me to be a better version of myself. read more

Be aware of their tricks !! I purchased 5 classes of which I have only used 3. Next time when I came for the 4th class I was told for the FIRST TIME that my 5 classes package had expired because it had been more then 90 days since I purchased the package. Was trying to get back the 2 classes that I've payed for and I was denied without consideration. I'm very disappointed with the customer service handling this issue, that's is not the way to do business in my opinion. It happened to a friend of mine as well with the 10 classes package. read more

The classes are good but customer service is supremely unhelpful. They do not have anyone who answers the phone, even in the middle of the day when class is going on and presumably people are sitting there. You can get an email response but it usually takes about 2 days. It's 2017! For example, this week the studio was closed for maintenance. The website shows all the classes are cancelled, with no explanation or mention of when classes will resume. When I emailed the customer service, they responded that there was an mass email to members with details (I didn't receive it) saying that classes would resume "next week" and/or would be held at another location. That is different from the website schedule, so I'm still unsure if/where I can go to attend a class. It sure would be great if customer service could help me NOW. Not in three days. Very frustrating and I hope they can improve this! Edit: It seems like more and more frequently classes are cancelled day of. Very hard to get my money's worth when I work 9-5 and have limited slots I can make it to. read more

This is my favorite yoga studio and after trying it out for my free week decided to get a membership which I feel is very reasonable for the quality teachers, studio and overall experience! The temperature is always set at a comfortable temperature...not too hot and feels just right which I really appreciate.
