The first thing my husband did was ask about the peaches. Of course that's the reason he went there. My search was for the peach preserves like my great grandmother made. I didn't stop there, I saw many condiments, salad dressings, old fashion candies. They also have a dessert eatery inside. Customer service was very insightful. Because we didn't go for the activities or petting of the animals, I can't write much about that. Overall, on my next visit I will try the famous MiMi's pound cake which they rave about. Also, I want the blueberry donuts which they only have on the weekends. Doggonit, I went to early in the middle of the week. My husband is really enjoying his peaches. A fun fall date!…read more Southern Belle Farm, located in McDonough, provides hours of wholesome fun and free parking. My wife and I arrived on a warm October day to enjoy the pumpkin patch and U-pick flowers. We arrived in the afternoon, but there was plenty of selection and nothing was "picked over." I paid $16 for a quart sized plastic vase for my U-pick flowers. They sell gallon sized buckets as well. Scissors and water are provided. Be mindful of bees in the field. They won't trouble you if you don't trouble them. There is an area in the back for you to arrange the flowers; I took full advantage of this because this trip doubled as a photo shoot. There were all types of people enjoying the farm; IG girls, families, even one couple using a wagon full of pumpkins as a baby announcement. Pumpkins range from $5-$20 each depending on size and breed. A nice young man named Luke helped us corral our pumpkins and carry them to our car. I didn't know they offered that service, but we tipped well. If you run up an appetite, they have a snack bar with fritters, ice cream, and lemonade. I'll be back next fall!

It is not a large operation like the state-run Atlanta Farmers market. It is set in the Aberdeen Shopping Center Parking lot, behind the Bank of America at the corner of Northlake Drive and Hwy 54. It is well shaded with a lot of trees. Beautiful spot. 9 AM - 1 PM Wednesday and Saturday. You will also find multiple baked goods, spices, ready to eat foods plus food carts, beef, chicken, pork, honey, apples, cakes, boiled peanuts, flowers, mushrooms, ravioli, tamales, and a few crafts such as mine. I must disclose that I set up there on both days. I sharpen knives, scissors, and garden tools. On Saturday there are typically 50 or more vendors. Wednesdays about 15. (Me included) Still lots of produce and baked goods on Wednesdays. Really nice people - I've been there for two months+ and have yet to hear a harsh word or disparaging remark. The customers are great as well. Dogs and children are welcomed.

Located in the Covington/Conyers border zone where the (now in their 20's) lost children of Rockdale County (long story if you don't get the reference) still cruise the strip malls - this small pick-your-own blueberry patch serves as entertainment and, dare I say, appreciation for where food comes from to sugar crazed preschoolers. A few of the neighborhood dads and myself carted our offspring to the hinterlands this past weekend to let said fruit of loins pick some berries. As the owner does not use any pesticides, the berries are safe to each right off the bush - a good thing if you have a pack of 2 and 3 year olds. When we arrived, we found that the patch was actually closed due to excessive picking the previous week - but the owner didn't have the heart to turn away the little tykes, so the kids were allowed to pick all of the ripe blueberries they could find. Who knew searching for the little blue orbs in a sea of pink unripened fruit could be so much fun? The kids had a blast (imagine a hunt for miniature sugary Easter eggs) and we parents were grateful for the nap inducing crash (the kids ate a decent portion of what they picked) that happened 1 hour later. Oh, the owner only charged us 5 bucks for all that we picked because he felt poorly about the status of the patch. Nice guy.

The tent may be small , but it's packed with high quality, locally grown products. The fresh fruits and veggies were beautiful, and the potatoes were nearly perfect- without blemishes I often see at the grocery stores. It takes me forever to pick out the best potatoes when I'm at the grocery store. They also offered fresh meats raised without pesticides, along with delicious canned jellies , local honey , and huge watermelons that reminded me of the ones I remember from childhood. A really good healthy summer treat! Note: veggies such as cabbage, greens and tomatoes , peaches pears , watermelon and fresh flowers , eggs , beef and honey are harvest on site . But specialty items , such as ; soaps , sea moss and jams come from regional makers ... just to name a few things. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. One team member even took a moment to thank everyone out loud for supporting local farmers, creating a warm sense of community and appreciation. That made me so happy! It's something that's been lost in this world - appreciation. Handicap parking is located right outside the main entrance, in front of the tent . Make note ; overall parking is very limited . I definitely chose the right time to go. And the lot of gravel , so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes ( especially the ladies ) since the ground is uneven . You will not like wearing heels . Some ladies had baby strollers , it's ok , but expect it to be a little bumpy. If you want great products and want to support local farmers I would definitely suggest Atlanta Harvest . The strawberries were huge, juicy and super sweet. It was a bit muddy but that's honestly the best time to pick them. As a side note the berries are across the street and with Newton County slowly growing crossing the street can be a bit hectic. Thankfully the kids we were with were between the ages of 6-9 so it was a bit easier to cross the street. But none the less still hectic. We went on a Saturday during peak hours which the kids enjoyed because there were so many new possible friends to be made while playing on the on-site playground. Plenty of photo worthy backgrounds, plenty of ripe berries and 10/10 worth every penny. Everyone that worked on the day we visited were super sweet and attentive. Not to mention patient. They really enjoy the service that they provide to the community. We also stop by later in the year for the pumpkin patch as well. This is a family favorite and generational stop for my family!

All of their other farm features were open during the festival, such as srawberry picking, gem mining, and of course the shop full of goodies. There were also outside vendors set up, farmer's market style, and a musician entertaining us all. We went to the lavender field only to find that you had to pay for the picking back in the shop. No worries as the line was not that long. We got our PVC tubing and clippers (both provided by them), and started to pick. There was a good selection and the field seemed full. After about 30 minutes and a lot of photo ops, we were done and they wrap and tie your lavender for you. It was a great experience! We then went to the shop to get some food, but all they had were drinks and dessert type items, so main course foods. There is an opportunity there for sure!

This is some sort of cottage industry producer of artisan crafted stuff like you'd see on the menu at Husk in Charleston, SC, infused oils and vinegars, hand-crafted sauces, jams and jellies, smoked spices and all other sort of goodies. I have tried their jams (Peach Brandy Jam, I used to top baked Mission Figs), their Espresso Infused Balsamic which I used to make a reduction sauce for filet mignon, and their watermelon jelly is fine, too. They have a Tomato Basil Sauce that I have but have not tried yet and will let you know how it goes. Folks, it's hard to find the weird stuff some of us foodies like to cook with but this Mullen Farms lady has it going on if you want something out of the box. Highly recommend. We unfortunately showed up 30 minutes after closing which was heartbreaking, but after a moment of mourning, they opened the door & let us in!!! We got peach bread, peach ice cream, and fresh peaches. They were all delicious! The texture of the ice cream was just right, perfectly creamy and not overwhelmingly sugary. The fresh peaches were a hit with our whole group, and the bread was amazing as well! I'd definitely have to swing back by if I'm ever in the area. Thank you so, so much!

I must say I also left , it was by a chevron and wasn't visible and the signs on the door were hard to see. I saw ladies coming out and said okay I'll try it. I walked inside and honestly I was so surprised I had to do a review. I was greeted and started shopping. I got a small white basket of peaches. $12 a dozen peach cider donuts $18 peach ice cream pint and a peach fritter $8 and I would say ice cream anywhere between 10-12 because my total was $52. The donuts are delicious and not super strong flavored. The peach ice cream had real peach pieces and was just natural. The peaches were fresh and yummy and the fritter is just homey. She even asked if I wanted to have it heated up. Tips are also accepted the young lady told me it's for college for her and the man in the photo and they are open only on the week and if you look the farm is an hour away . Be sure to stop by and support the Dickey farms and enhance your flavor! I am so glad I stopped
