My husband and I had an excellent experience today at Real Burger. It's hard to see the place from the road as its tucked behind a gas station off the main strip. We came in and was undecided what to try. The guy at the register showed us the Valentines specials and we went with those. I had the real burger combo and my husband had the fish sandwich combo. They make the burgers fresh on the flap top which gives it a great grilled taste. I order mine plain but you get some mushrooms or cheese at no cost. They have a condiment bar with fixings for your burgers. I could have done without the bun for the burger as I think it's too thick for the patty. My think it overpowers the patty itself. My husband really enjoyed the fish. It was two big pieces of fish with cheese and all the fixings to go with it. Our meals came with really good huge order of fries. Two people could both eat from one order. I need to try the chicken friend chicken on my next visit. read more

We went to Real Burger after a couple hours in Meow Wolf. We found this place with the help of Yelp. I got the Indian Taco with beef. It was as big as the plate. It had beans, beef, lettuce,tomato. Guacamole... I really liked it. My partner had Original Super Burger with green Chile's. He was very pleased. You could taste the meat and it was cooked perfectly. He said it was the beat Burger he has had in years and he eats a lot of hamburgers. Our kid had the Frito Pie. She seemed to like it. It was also really large and she only ate about a quarter of it. We all shared an order of fries which was also very good. There was a topping/salsa bar which I always like. Their salsa was very good. I totally recommend you try Real Burger. Amazing! You really have to look for it! Tucked into a tiny strip building set back behind another building on southbound side of Cerrillos. But go you must! Special fish sandwich was the real deal. My husband's burger was perfection. Folks are really nice. Quite a contrast to chains and the touristy spots in Santa Fe. Wife and I ordered green chili double meat burgers today. We were very disappointed to say the least. Hamburger bun was huge lettuce tomatoes and onions were served on same plate. Meat was tasteless. No forks were offered and the bun was falling apart. We won't be returning. read more

We saw this place on Yelp traveling from Colorado to Arizona, and decided to get off the highway to try it. Sooo glad we did! 2 of us had green chili burgers & 1 had a breakfast burrito. We were all VERY pleased with our meal. I had asked what Carne Adovado was when we placed our order, and the gentleman brought us a sample. It was delicious! Uh, if you are looking for a great green chili burger it's not here. Burger was well over medium but the home made chips are great. Menu has quite a few items covered over so not available. Coke machine has 2 selections covered over similar to menu items. Restaurant is run down and a bit dirty. One thing that really bothered me was watching the grill floor area get swept. Can you imagine what gets on the grill? Not sure how this place gets such great ratings? Must be the other uncovered items on the menu which I did not have. I will not be back. read more

Took 41 mins to get our food, that is not an exaggeration. Mind you this was at 4pm on a weekday, the slowest part of the day for a restaurant. No apologies were given, but after 30 mins of waiting we asked the to make our order to go and they then used that as an excuse for the forty min wait...Food was ok, not great, not bad, definitely had better for less money and less wait time. It's one of those burger places where you order and then have a seat. There is a condiment bar which is nice. The real burger comes with cheese and any of the following: green chili, mushrooms, or onions. I wish they had guacamole or alvocado. The burger was cooked well and had a great taste. Seriously legit! I was a little worried when I got in line because it was really hot in line but the dining area was very nicely cooled. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. My family all got the special which was a real burger, fries and drink for $9. That might seem high but it is a large 6 oz burger, more fries than any of them could eat with it, and several of the topping options including the cheese are included. I ordered one of the most expensive options which was the patty melt and fries for $10. This was more food than any non-teenager or football player could eat (speaking as a fat person). Two patties for a whopping 12 oz of delicious chargrilled beef, a generous scoop of guacamole, rye toast, cheese, grilled onion, lettuce, tomato and the same large serving of fries. I ate four fries. The rest of my effort went to finishing this excellent burger. It was served deconstructed so I had to put it together, after which it was at my estimate 5"x4"x4" of surprisingly non-greasy but still flavorful goodness. Patty melts aren't traditionally served with guacamole but you won't hear me complain about this delicious deviation. The condiment bar is well appointed but wasted on me because the patty melt needs no enhancement. I think next time I will ask for a single patty version w/o fries if they can do that. And I need to see what they do with green chile because much as I love Santa Fe Bite I think that Real Burger could give them a good run for their (significantly less) money. read more

Huge (about 5'' diameter), juicy burger for decent price. I asked for my "Real Burger" to be cooked medium and it came out more medium-well but it was still tasty. Buns are toasted and their "cheddar cheese" is actually shredded cheddar, not sliced. Maximum occupancy is 57 persons, for an idea of how large the seating area is. DEFINITELY A REAL BURGER! I have been walking around town for about 4 days (crack is a hell of a drug) and was having a high come down. I realized I was starving and only a REAL burger could satiate my appetite. When I walked in I was greeted by a very real looking man. He was a nice man that was very tall I don't know how they make jeans that size, they had to be custom fit. He sat me down at a real table and asked me what I would like to drink, he even had my favorite diet Shasta. He asked me what I would like to eat, I told him I need a Real Burger. Last week I placed a order for a dozen of tamales they quoted me at 15$ (the owner ) the day they were ready I asked him (the son) how much the total was and he told me it was 20$ then he passed me to his father. As soon as his father answered the phone he said what's the problem and I told him they quoted me for 15$ now it's 20$ and he replied in the rudest manner I've ever heard anyone talk to a customer by saying in Spanish "well prices have gone up (in 4days since I ordered apparently) and that everyone else in town charges 30$ they charge 20$ and he blamed his son on saying the wrong price for the order when he's the one who quoted me. When I told em ive never had to pay prices like that because where I come from they're 12$ he stated "well I don't know what kind of scraps and bs you're getting over there but over here we got good tamales you can go get them over there if they're so cheap ". I've been coming here for over 5 years have brought them plenty of people, but after this I'll never be stepping foot in this establishment again or supporting Raza that wants to rape and disrespect like the white folks do in this town. read more
