Spent two nights in Santa Fe and ate here both nights. On the first night we split a half rack rib dinner, adding an extra side and two extra ribs. The ribs were perfect, tender with a little cheese. Just wished we ordered an extra muffin because they're cheap and delicious. Second night I had a salad with salmon. Loved that they asked how I wanted the salmon cooked. It was prepared perfectly. Our server, Marissa, was amazing, frequently checking in on us, and even arranging a free dessert. If I lived in Santa Fe I'd need to buy a new wardrobe. Reviews looked good so we had to check it out. Came here on a Wednesday night. Quite busy for mid week, but we had a reservation and were seated right away. We had two large parties sitting on both sides of us, so it was a bit noisy but not too loud to where we could still hear each other. I did notice one couple asked to be reseated onto the patio. Started off with their apple - walnut salad - delicious. Then the flat iron steak which had to be one of the most flavorful and tender flat iron steaks I've ever tasted. We also had the ranch salad with a skewer of the brown butter bbq shrimp. Would love to know how they made the brown butter bbq sauce, so good I could drink it. Our food was delicious. The service could have been better. We were never checked on and we had to track down our server to get out check. Literally did not see her for about 15 minutes. Truly thought she may have been on break. I do remember her name, but she could have been super busy. We were heading home from a camping trip and looking for something in Cerrillos. This one was the choice. Unfortunately we didn't realize it was a BBQ place until inside. I'm good with it, but not my hubby. He ended up getting a burger which he said was ok. I got the half chicken with white BBQ sauce. Mine was great. Chicken well done, sides were excellent (I chose the BBQ beans and potato salad). The green chile cheese muffin was good, too. All in all it was a good meal and the price was good too. A party of 12 from the Santa Fe Foodies ate at the Ranch House (again), and everyone loved the food and service. One person raved about the burger, another loved the huge chicken salad--most ordered BBQ, including me. I've lived here long enough to recall Josh's BBQ up the street before the chef opened The Ranch House, so I know where to go in the city for the BEST BBQ. I ordered the Brisket Plate and asked for 'moist' rather than 'lean' (my take: moist is the Point, lean the Flat). I loved the moist and yes, lean brisket, which came shredded rather than sliced, meaning you don't get fat, you get flavor! OK, go lean if you must, but I really suggest you try moist brisket. For the two sides, I ordered the Green Chile Slaw, which folks rave about. I'm not a big coleslaw eater, but I did like this version even if I didn't really get the green chile. On the 2nd side, our waitress told us we could order a Caesar salad for a mere $1 extra, and let me tell you, this is the best deal around! The salad was pretty big, but the Caesar dressing is just outstanding! Most Restaurants call romaine with a white dressing that might be ranch a Caesar. The Caesar at the Ranch House is a real Caesar with big, bold flavors from a chef that isn't afraid to use anchovies and other ingredients to make it delicious. So unusual and delicious are the House-made Cornbread Croutons. A little sweet, very crunchy, they pair so nicely with this outstanding Caesar dressing. One of the best Caesars in town. With the brisket came a very tasty cornbread muffin. I ordered 2 BBQ ribs on the side for my wife and me to split. These are Babyback; I usually prefer the meaty St. Louis cut, but these ribs were outstanding. Almost fall off the bone (as they should be), they were tender and moist, and had great smoke. Next time I may go for the ribs; they are amazing. My wife had the Salmon Taco plate; I tried a bite and approved. It came with very creamy Refried Beans and excellent Calabacitas. I think BBQ is the name of the game here, but the tacos can be recommended as well. On the recommendation of someone in our party, we tried the homemade Coffee Toffee Pinon Crunch ice cream. Very good! I'm super spoiled about ice cream since Hello Sweet Cream came to our neighborhood in Eldo, but I have to say, Chef Josh impressed me with his ice cream. We had 12, and everyone got served at once. The kitchen has its act together. Our server, Tyana, was a delight! We didn't order drinks, but with the salad upgrade, extra ribs, two entrees, and dessert, the bill was $42, which is an amazing value for the quality of the food. read more

Monday. March 2, 2026. Lunch. This restaurant is right by the Texas Roadhouse. So a Ranch House and a Roadhouse get together and have a... Nevermind. I visited here with my mom, sisters and wife after attending a funeral. My middle sister said the food was good here. The place had lots of full tables and the parking lot stood packed. They had a lunch menu, which we ordered from. Lunch menu valid Monday through Friday, 11 am until 2:30 pm. Our waitress looked very busy, but she refilled our drinks a few times. I ordered the baby back rib plate for $15. This included 4 bones, a cornbread, and waffle fries. I used there spicy bbq sauce, which wasn't too sugary and just the right amount of fire. They served a healthy amount of large waffle fries and the cornbread wasn't too dense and tasted great. Ribs were moist and meaty. My wife ordered the smaller plate ($10) with 1/4 pound of brisket, cornbread and sautéed spinach. The black iced tea, $4, tasted super fresh and strong. The plates here were large and fresh. Service fast and friendly. Lunch prices were very fair for the amount of food they offered. I will be back again. read more

The Ranch House offered a top tier experience! The food, the service, the vibe, everything was great! We got there on time for Happy Hour which meant $8 strawberry margaritas and some super yummy $7 potato skins served with bacon, cheddar, chives, sour cream, and their delicious BBQ ranch. I did a build your own buffalo burger as my dinner. For my toppings I did Swiss cheese, grilled onions, and the smoked crimini mushrooms. It definitely fulfilled my burger craving and the fries it came with were good as well. My boyfriend got the Ranch House platter and it came with sooo much food! There was Brisket, pork, sausage, and 2 baby back ribs for the meats. The sides consisted of green chile slaw, BBQ beans, and my favorite the green chile cornbread muffin. They provided us with their special BBQ sauces in mild and hot. I personally preferred the mild one better, but I liked both. As for the service the only complaint is that we had about a 15 minute wait to be seated, but they did have a nice waiting area so it wasn't a big deal, especially since they had everything decorated for Christmas. Wow didn't think I'd find a note worthy bbq spot when visiting Santa Fe but yelp steered me here. Almost came here my first night in two but had Italian, tried this for night 2 and WOW. Came for happy hour and enjoyed drinks and an appetizer on a reduced price. Gf had the Buffalo sandwich and I had the ranch platter. The bbq was flavorful and we had so much food that we left with leftovers and enjoyed everything we got. Service here was very good! We were immediately greeted. There were a lot of people waiting to be seated and it was about 20-30min wait. The restaurant was clean and service was very quick! Food came out fast and they also had the football game on the TV. The food: I was not very impressed with their BBQ. The ribs were overdone, hardly any meat on them and very dry. Ambiance is great! I like the decor and for the most part the noise level. They are very group and family friendly. Their bathrooms are nice and well kept. The servers are pretty darn good and the food is excellent. I had the creme brûlée and it was so good! The Mac and cheese was excellent! The nachos were a big serving, probably enough for at least 2, maybe 3! They have excellent sorbe!! The only debby downer is there is a wait. A very long wait during peak hours for dinner for sure. I always like to try new restaurants when I travel back home to northern NM (& also frequent my favorites). Located near my (now closed) favorite Italian spot Rustica, this place was pretty darn good! We started off with chips, salsa, and queso (ended up getting two orders). They have happy hour 7 days a week and I ordered the house cab and they ended up charging me for a totally different one at 10.00/glass. As for our food, I ordered the sirloin steak NM style which included rice, beans, and an enchilada. Portion size was decent but I was disappointed that it was not bigger. Mom ordered the sausage plate and she enjoyed it but it was a bit too much sausage for her (greasy). My friends ordered a baked potato, salad, and the other the same identical plate as mine. Overall, great place with a full service bar and the service was excellent. It was busy and a little bit of a wait but not bad. I will definitely be back but the only con about this place is the food is pricey for the portion size (prices aren't bad on paper). Also, make sure if you are ordering from the happy hour menu (did not have to sit at the bar) that they charge you for happy hour pricing. read more

Onion strings, pungent barbecue sauce, high quality meat, and fresh bun made it an outstanding choice. Most notable is the cornbread here. While the staff forgets to heat it up often, when it is served properly (warm), it's truly breathtaking. The service: odd, odd, odd. I know they're in the city bizarre (Santa Fe), but it's still (barely) America. The waitress stands intentionally 8' away from me, speaks in a faint mumble, almost hoping that I'll go away. Im asking myself, why. My teeth are brushed. I'm wearing ordinary clothes, no maga cap or fur coat. I have to cup my ears to hear her and after receiving the food, she disappears for 25 minutes. I think that this' a great example of an outstanding menu, talented chefs, but servers maybe 2 weeks out of high school or? Our food was okay. I would say it is on par with Outback steakhouse. I was sort of expecting better. Santa Fe, New Mexico Came here on a Monday night at 6:20 as we are staying one night in Santa Fe. The wait is 45 minutes they told me. They have a bar off to the right of the front entrance to the restaurant, but you can only sit at the bar top to order. The booths along the wall are for the restaurant to seat. The menu is pretty impressive. Everything from salmon for $20 to pasta, burgers, salads, and more. It's 6:40 pm and we order our food and ask for a cup of the soup of the day which is corn chowder. We are informed they are out of it. A restaurant that runs out of the soup of the day at dinner time? Very odd. No problem, I'll order a loaded baked potato. Oh wait, they are out of that too. Time for the chef to review his ordering of food to accommodate his guests. I ordered the macaroni and cheese with smoked chicken on the side. The chicken was served warm and was so incredibly tough. I just had to ask for a new side of chicken. They brought it out and what a difference. The chicken was much more tender and hot. Having this new plate of chicken allowed me to give it a much better review. Mac & cheese Was relatively bland. The noodles are cavatappi, and it comes with a seasoned crumb top. The topping was inconsistent with texture. Some of it was very good and flavorful and the other was a very hard, dry breadcrumb. I needed to add salt, pepper and barbecue sauce to the mac & cheese to give it flavor. My husband ordered the same thing and said it was fine. He also ordered the cornbread and said that was absolutely delicious. I did save room for dessert and ordered the apple crisp. It was served in a dish the size of a crème brûlée bowl. It is an oat covered apple crisp with dices of apple and a scoop of Häagen-Dazs ice cream on top. No nuts on this dessert. It could've used a bit more apple, but the flavor overall was very good. I am glad I made this my choice to end the meal. The service was below average. Our waitress was kind. However, she was so quiet we could barely hear her and asked her to often repeat herself. She never came to the table and asked us what we wanted. But more so just stood there and waited for us to talk first. We had to ask for water refills as did the table next to us. If a table asked her for something as she was bringing something to us, she would take our item back to the kitchen to get what the other table asked for, then bring our item back out. It was very odd. She was only able to handle one thing at a time. With all of this said about the restaurant, I will come back. I would like to try different things on the menu. It is a nice environment, that is cozy, and welcoming. The patio looks wonderful and I'd like to try it warmer night. read more

The food was terrific again, and I wanted to comment on something uncommon for me: they serve their salad with the very best cornbread croutons we have experienced. There's nothing like a house cooked meal. Caleb, Cassey, and I needed some food after a 6 hour drive from Denver to Santa Fe. I made a list of local restaurants that sounded good to visit for my vacation in Santa Fe and my friends suggested The Ranch House. Both Cassey and Caleb say it's one of their frequent stops for a dinner out on town and said it's a local gem that they don't want tourists to know about. But, that didn't stop us from having a 30 minute wait when we got there Sunday night. Once we got a table, we quickly ordered a water, beer, and an appetizer. While we sat there with our drinks and my friends telling me about how good the jalapeno cornbread is... we started to wonder where our appetizer was. The young waitress came over and took our orders and asked if we needed an appetizer or more drinks. We all got really confused but just rolled with it and didn't mention anything. Within 20 minutes, we had our plates of food in front of us and it looked good... but that appetizer was still missing. None of us said anything since we think the waitress was new and feeling pretty overwhelmed with how busy it was. We dug into our food with must gusto and tiredness of some weary travelers. I got the smokehouse bbq burger with the waffle fries and a slice of that much-hyped cornbread. Each bite was pure bliss. This place knows how to cook a burger and cook it right... which happens to be medium rare, in my opinion. But, they will cook it to however you wish when you place your order. The waffle fries were a great accompaniment to the burger and that jalapeno cornbread was warm and every bit delicious as my friends said it would be. Now to balance out the sadness of not getting the appetizer with a funny story. As we were sitting and chatting, I noticed a group of people walking straight towards our table. I noticed the person in front had a small piece of paper in her hand. I thought we were going to get some kind of unprompted sales pitch but... it was a sweet lady from Texas who got a $10 off voucher for her drink being messed up. She said she will never be back and thought we could use it. All she requested was a hug. I got up and gave her the biggest hug I could give and they even got Caleb to get up and give a hug, too! Their group took a few photos of our hugs and went on their way. I regret not getting them to send me the photos of the fun moment but it'll live on in my memory as an example of southern hospitality.
